No but like the biggest thing that Miguel is missing about this whole “you need to understand that you can’t save everyone” is like yes that is true! that IS an important lesson every spider person learns BUT here’s where miguel lost the plot: you should still try. Spiderman ALWAYS tries. Like Pavitr literally said “i can do both” and whether or not he actually could doesn’t fucking matter. what matters is he tried!!! gwen actively stopping miles and miguel trying to enforce these “canon” moments is so just outside of the like spiderman philosophy of “can you always get back up/can you keep CHOOSING to try/to be a hero!!”. Even as far back as toby miguire whenever spiderman was forced by villains to try and choose mj or the children, the people on the train etc he ALWAYS chose both!! he tried!! when miguel stopped trying is when he stopped being spiderman tbh. But also the spider society arguably inherently breaks the “canon” as well like yeah Pav might have failed if he was alone but he wasn’t. Like y’all are in a situation to do good, to prevent a death and if you have the power to do that then you have a responsibility to try!! Like i’m really hoping this is where beyond the spiderverse is going!! that miguel could’ve done so much good with what he created if he just tried!!

hey so you know all the symbolism about miles wearing a spider-man costume for most of itsv because he didn't feel like he was living up to what spider-man was supposed to be. you know how his real suit is so important because it represents his confidence in himself. hey did you know that after miguel tells him he's an anomaly and a mistake, miles' suit glitches back into that spider-man costume.

Something REALLY interesting about this scene

At the beginning of the scene Miles confronts Gwen about the 'small elite strike-team' comment.

Gwen lies and plays it off, saying that most of them are part-time anyway.

IMMEDIATELY after that in the next line dialogue, Hobie confronts Gwen and asks her 'Gwendy, how much have you told him about his place in all this? - Maybe not enough.'

Hobie is expressioning disappointment towards Gwen. He doesn't approve of her lying to Miles, knowing what's gonna happen to him. He doesn't agree with them keeping him in the dark - which is why later in the scene he says

'I haven't gotten a Scooby Doo, mate. But that's what they want.'

He's warning Miles that they're keeping in him the dark, on purpose.

ONCE AGAIN Hobie showing foward thinking and outwardly disapproving of the obviously unfair treatment that Miles is given. He's not angry at Gwen, but he's willing to tell her straight up that she's not doing or telling Miles enough to protect him.

Miles deserved to know Miguel's motives BEFORE meeting him. That's why he pointed it out then.

He's ALWAYS looking out for Miles

It's already common knowledge that the animation for ATSV is absolutely bonkers (with the first film already breaking ground). But learning this added info over Hobie's animation is beyond nuts.

The symbolism!! I could analyse these color schemes for hours and I live for it!

i want to give a bit of info to everyone who only knows miguel from the movie:

•he is not a vampire! his fangs are from his spider dna and are filled with paralyzing venom :) fun fact: the size of his fangs makes him mumble so other people don't see them while he's talking!

•he wasn't bitten by a spider like most spider people! spider dna was atomically spliced directly into his genes making him 50% spider

•he doesn't stick like other spider people! he uses the talons on his fingers to climb around and such! fun fact: these talons can easily slice through solid metal :)

•he doesn't have a spider sense! instead, all of his senses are majorly enhanced!

•yes! he always moves like that! he automatically moves like a feral monster because that's what he is!

•he has a fiancé named dana and a little brother named gabriel! they are the two most important people in his life :) fun fact: gabriel recognized that it was miguel in the spider suit the first time he saw him in it!

•his eyes are red because they can see in major details and in complete darkness. fun fact: this makes his eyes super sensitive to light, which constantly gives him migraines :)

•yes! his ass is that huge in the comics, too! everyone in the comics are always commenting on it ^^

•miguel is irish/mexican :)

•he is NOT the original spider man of his universe! there was a peter parker in the past before the year 2099

just wanted to clear up some facts about him movie onlys may have misconstrued ^^

absolutely this. bc when i was watching the movie. i kept looking at miles and thinking, is this what representation feels like? bc wow he could be one of my cousins. but then i saw hobie . HOBIE!??? and i was like oh ok i get it. this is what all of you guys were talking about when you said you used to have crushes on cartoons? like if this was ten years ago? you wouldn't have heard the end of it. like my brain can not imagine a more perfect character design. hobie showed up and my third eye was opened. his physical characteristics and personality seem to have formed from my brain like venus or something. mind blown i was like OHHH
