This is my first Valorant fanfic ever, been wanting to do this for a while, hope you enjoy! There will be multiple parts for this, hehe
(C/N) = Codename (your agent name)
(Y/N) = Your name
Everything's SFW for this part, there will be fluff and angst, I really hope you like this so far!!
---
You were amongst the first agents to join the Valorant Protocol, alongside Sage. You two were great friends, despite the age gap. Sage was always eager to teach you new things, whether it was in the shooting range or just any hobbies you were interested in.
Brimstone wasn't left behind either, after all, he's like a father to you after you lost your family during the First Light. Your parents were forever grateful for Brimstone's help throughout the years, so when the fatal day arrived, he didn't hesitate to take you in and teach you all he knew to defend yourself, eventually leading you to join the Valorant Protocol.
Being one of the first to join allowed you to gain experience at an incredibly fast pace, and you managed to gain everyone's trust to the point no one questioned whenever Brim put you in charge for any call outs in the battlefield. It's safe to say everyone trusts you. Well, everyone except for a few.
You can't please everyone, that's clear as water to you, but you can't help the uneasiness around other agents like Fade and Omen. Maybe it's just the way they are; laid back, lacking communication in some aspects, but they know enough to not go against your word. Brim wouldn't like that.
"(Y/N), Sage," Brim was shuffling through some files as you and Sage stood behind him. "We need to locate the next agents to join the protocol, but we also have a setback due to Omega Earth agents scouting a new location that Fade has gathered intel on." You couldn't pinpoint it but he seemed... off. You've almost never seen him in such stance for the last two years in VP.
Sage approached Brim and placed her hand on his shoulder, as if to ground him. "Brimstone, just tell us what to do and we'll get it done."
This seemed enough to help Brim regain his senses and prompted to clear his throat. "Right, apologies, you two." You smiled in reassurance. "So, first things first. We need to reach this new location before Omega Earth does, for that, I'll need a 5-stack team to cover as much as possible. Sage, I need you in the battlefield for this." Sage nodded, allowing Brim to continue. "I was thinking you can take Fade with you since she's the one who retrieved this information for us. Now for the rest of the agents, I was thinking you should take Killjoy, Raze and Jett, but if you want to replace anyone for this job, feel free to do so. Any questions so far?"
Sage shook her head, "I'm assuming we need to avoid a spike being planted again, even if they're just scouting." Brim nodded. "Alright, everything's clear. I'll stick with the agents you have proposed."
"Perfect. Now," he turned to you. "I need you to help with the scouting of the next agent. We've located him, and he's actually an acquaintance of Reyna," he continued. You couldn't help the slight shiver down your spine upon hearing her name. Reyna. You've never really had bad experiences with her, it was just never clear to you whether she doubted your judgement or not. Nonetheless, you couldn't let yourself think negatively before you're even assigned this task. "Reyna will meet up with him but you need to tag along to make sure they're not followed. Understood?"
"Yes, sir." Even though he's like a father to you, you maintain professionalism within the headquarters, even when it's just the three of you. Brim nodded and turned back to the files from earlier.
"Alright, with that decided, Sage, feel free to go through these files to gather as much knowledge as possible from the sites. (Y/N), I believe Reyna is in the shooting range in case you want to discuss details with her. The sooner, the better."
With that, you promptly excused yourself and left the office, making your way towards the shooting range.
Once Sage made sure you left, she turned to Brim. "What made you decide to send her off with Reyna? You know they haven't interacted as much." Sage was concerned, since you've expressed your worries about agents disliking you in the past. Reyna was no exception.
"Reyna requested her. Those two need to eventually get along, and from the looks of it, this new kid might help with their interactions." He handed Sage the file with all of his information provided by Reyna. She hummed, and understood what Brimstone was on about.
You felt your heart pounding, anxiety dwelling up. You never struggle with these feelings in the battlefield, yet you still felt the same sense of awareness that an enemy may be nearby, watching. You suddenly felt a hand on your shoulder and gasped out in surprise, turning around abruptly and firmly grabbing their wrist.
"Tae, (Y/N)..!" It was just Neon. You sighed in relief.
"Neon, thank god... I'm sorry, you scared the shit out of me." You released her wrist and breathed out, trying to calm down after the scare of your life.
"Right back at you, what are you so jumpy for anyway?" Neon couldn't help but notice your palm was sweaty when you grabbed her wrist.
"Oh, uh.. I was just looking for Reyna is all." You were hoping Neon wouldn't catch up on the fact that Reyna scares you a bit. Of course, your hopes were for nothing.
"Are you... scared of her?" She tried to stiff a laugh.
"What? Pff, of course not! Why would I?" You tried to shrug it off but it was no use. Neon laughed a bit.
"You know she's my mentor, right?" Neon smiled, "She's not as bad as she seems. She just has this.. scary aura but, trust me, as long as you don't get on her bad side, you'll be fine."
You sighed, slightly relieved. "Yeah, I just.. I've never talked to her one-on-one about something so, I guess I was just nervous."
"Well, don't be! I'm sure everything will go fine. I think she was heading to the kitchen just now, she finished practicing a while ago."
"Thank you, Neon." You smiled and headed to the kitchen.
As you walked in, you saw Reyna sitting in a chair with a coffee on one hand and a magazine on the other. You've never seen her outside of practice and missions, so it was a bit weird for you to even see her in casual clothing.
"Hey there," you slightly waved at her, awkwardly making your way to the counter and getting a glass of water. You were nervous, and Reyna could sense it.
Setting her magazine down, she looked at you. "Hello, (Y/N)." She sipped her coffee. "Your heart is racing. Something bothering you?"
You made your way to the table she was sat at and took the chair from another table before sitting down across her.
"Well, I was assigned to tag along with you to recruit this new agent and Brimstone advised me to discuss the details with you as soon as possible." You tried to talk calmly, but you knew Reyna could still sense your uneasiness anyway.
"Ah, sĂ. I personally asked Brimstone to assign you to this." Wait, she asked for you? Why?
"You did?"
"SĂ, you see, your abilities are best suited to make sure we're not followed back into the headquarters. My little friend seems to have gotten himself into trouble after all." She was right. Being a sentinel, you were one of the best at holding positions with your enhanced senses. You're able to hear steps at a location you've previously been at, and sense any foreign entities based on their aura.
"I see, that makes sense." You were more at ease now. "So, this friend of yours, where and when are we picking him up?"
Reyna smiled. "We're going to take a trip down LA, cariĂąo."
You didn't think you would be leaving so soon, but from what Brimstone informed you, there is already an Omega counterpart of this new guy, so it was crucial to recruit him as soon as possible.
You and Reyna got off a train. You were keeping a low profile, so you were both wearing a vest under your casual clothes, with a pistol and a knife strapped in a hidden spot for both of you. You carried a Ghost while Reyna brought a Sherif.
"Alright, this is the meeting spot. We're way earlier than him, so that should give you enough time to scout the place." Reyna said while taking her phone out. "I'm letting him know we're here, so it should take him around 20 to 30 minutes to get here. That enough time for you?" She turned to you after sending the text message.
"More than enough. Got your earpiece?" Reyna nodded. "Alright, be right back then."
Reyna watched you walk off, thinking how you and the new agent will get along. She wishes the best for him. Heck, he's a soft spot for her. She knows a bit of your story from Brimstone, and she's never once not reminded of this kid whenever he looks at you. Maybe that's the reason why she avoided you so much, but it was time to change that, since she knew you and Neon would be great friends for him, and her most preferred anyway.
Making your way down the street, you glanced at the graffiti on the walls. You were wearing a long red skirt, as much as you hate them, but underneath you wore dark skinny jeans, where your weapons were strapped on. As for your shirt, it was a black t-shirt. The dark color made it easier for you to conceal the vest underneath.
Right outside the alley were a couple of food stands, and it wasn't too crowded. You made sure to mentally map the area around you and pinpoint the most crucial paths to the meeting spot.
After a while, you had a broad vision of the area, and you decided to stay put a bit close to the most vulnerable entrance to the alley, yet not too far from Reyna.
"Reyna, I'm all set."
"Copied, he should be here any second. If you sense four sources of radianite besides his, don't worry." Reyna echoed through your earpiece. Before you had time to ask her what she meant by that, you sensed someone new, along with the other sources of radianite Reyna mentioned earlier.
You closed your eyes and focused on the meeting spot, just to be sure. Faintly, you could hear two voices.
"El caos puede ser... hermoso." You could tell that was Reyna.
"Chill, chill, we're good." A voice you've never heard before. From the friendly manner, you assumed this was the new guy.
You opened your eyes and spoke to your earpiece. "Reyna, showed up already?"
"Yes, just stay put for a bit." You knew what she meant, it would be silly of you to leave right away in case he was followed through here.
You proceeded to close your eyes and go through all the crucial spots. Nothing suspicious so far, until you heard a faint click, far away, but loud enough for you to know it was a finger placed on a trigger. You weren't sure from where exactly. You frantically looked everywhere. Then you realized there was one place you weren't able to scout. The roof.
"Reyna, duck!" You got out of your hiding spot, ripping your skirt off, and got a grenade you borrowed from Raze. A loud gunshot was heard, but Reyna was able to get the new guy away just in time. You threw the grenade on instinct based on the source of the gunshot, and oh boy, were your instincts right. An Omega soldier fell off, grunting from the pain. You got your Ghost out and tried to shoot him as soon as he fell, but he was fast. He rolled over and managed to find a hiding spot.
"Shit," you cursed. If you were fast enough you would've killed him before he finished landing.
"(Y/N), are you hurt?" You heard Reyna through your earpiece, a hint of concern could be detected on her voice. You couldn't help but smile at that.
"Worried about me now?" You laughed. "I'm fine, but this asshole has me in a pinch. He's got a sniper rifle and I'm just hiding behind a bunch of garbage."
"We're on it, just don't walk into any green goo you see on the floor." You weren't sure what she was talking about but didn't question it. Then, seconds later, you heard a gargling sound, followed by an explosion. You quickly glanced back, aiming your pistol, and quickly understood what Reyna was on about. That green thing seemed like a sort of grenade.
The soldier attempted to flee the goo before it got him, but just as he came on sight, you shot him straight through the head. You closed your eyes and quickly went over the rest of the points, making sure there was no one else lurking. You heard nothing.
You opened your eyes and met Reyna standing in a dark corner, her eyes glowing. "Nada mal para ser tu primera vez," she said amused. You were about to ask what she was on about when a green haired guy appeared on the other end of the alley. You recognized his aura from earlier.
"You think so?" The guy asked excitedly. First impression, very childish.
"Gekko, this is (Y/N). (Y/N), this is Gekko." Reyna introduced you two.
"Thanks for saving my butt earlier, it's nice meeting you, Gekko." You extended your arm to give him a handshake. He promptly followed.
"Oh, yeah, no problem, and thanks." He scratched his neck. "Likewise."
Reyna looked at him in a funny manner before making her way out of the alley. "Well, we better get out of here before we have to deal with anything else."
You stopped in your tracks when you remembered you literally tore your skirt off. "Uhm, Reyna?" She turned around, and quickly realized what you were worried about.
She sighed in frustration, "Hand them over, I'll take them back." You thanked her and handed your pistol with your knife.
This whole time you didn't notice Gekko glancing at you, as much as he could. He had heard about you from Reyna, unbeknownst to you. He was eager to get to know you and become friends, but he never thought you would be this pretty. He got himself together and followed you two from behind.
Once you arrived at the headquarters, you notified Brimstone of the little encounter you had. This made him a bit uneasy but he acknowledged your good work, alongside Gekko's. He asked you to lead him to his room, which happened to be next to yours and Reyna's.
You made your way to the main room where everyone hangs out. They were all greeting Gekko and welcoming him.
Jett suspiciously slid next to you and wrapped her arm around your shoulders. "Heyy, what's that about the new guy saving your ass out there, huh (C/N)?" Jett was teasing you again. She was always like this, in a friendly manner, of course.
You scoffed, "I have no idea what you're talking about, wind girl."
Jett laughed, "Oh, come on! That's never to be heard of! You? The best sentinel around caught up in a tight spot? Talk about sloppiness right there, girl." As much as you knew she was joking, she was right. It was rare of you to be caught in a tight spot. You thought maybe it was the uneasiness of being around Reyna for the first time, but it wasn't time to think about that right now.
You approached Gekko and tapped his shoulder. "Ready to see your new room?"
He beamed a smile. "Yes! Can you show me around as well? Just so me and my critters don't get lost." You smiled and nodded as you waved everyone else goodbye.
In the back, you didn't notice Jett and Yoru talk behind. "I bet one of them will fall in love." Jett said to him.
"You're really going to bet against me again?" Yoru asked. "Dibs on new guy." Jett simply rolled her eyes.
"Kitchen's that way, and down the hall you'll find the locker rooms, followed by the entrance to the range. That's where we practice. You're most likely going to be training under Harbor. Just make sure your little guys don't eat our food."
Gekko wasn't paying much attention until you brought his creatures up. "Oh, yeah, don't worry about them. They don't eat normal food." He smiled. He was way too distracted admiring you, as corny as it is. Looking how you interacted with everyone made him look up to you. "Say, for how long have you been here?" You stopped in your tracks, startled at the question. "Oh, I'm sorry, I didn't mean to-"
"No, don't worry." You interrupted him as soon as he started to apologize. "I don't mind the questions, I'm just not used to the personal ones, I guess." Gekko said nothing in response, giving you the space to continue. "I've been here for almost two years now, since the start of the Valorant Protocol."
"Damn, so you've been here for a while."
"Pretty much."
"Well, I look forward to learning from you, (Y/N)." You turned around and saw him smiling. You don't know what it was, if it was his smile alone, or his eyes displaying trust and admiration towards you that made you a bit flustered, but one thing's for sure; his smile is contagious.
You turned around as soon as you felt yourself smile and kept walking, Gekko following from behind. "So, you're friends with Reyna?" You were curious about him too, so you couldn't help but return the personal questions to him.
"Oh, yeah, Reyna and I go way back, shortly after the First Light. I wasn't affected by it but she was, in a way. I used to know her and..." He trailed off. You glanced at him in response. "Nevermind... Anyway, my critters got to know her as well and we spent time together until she left. Then, as it turns out, she left to come here, so she dragged me along with her."
You hummed in response. You never thought Reyna would be thoughtful enough to think about someone else's future, but you never judge a book by its cover.
You chatted a bit more until you got to the dorms. "Well, this is where we all live in the headquarters. This is my room," you pointed to a door that read your codename. "And this is yours."
"We're next to each other? QuĂŠ padre, I'll get to see you often, then." You couldn't help but smile at his eagerness.
You helped Gekko set up a code for his lock and proceeded to open the door. The room was plain, with a simple bed and a small table with a closet. There were no decorations yet. This allows each agent to personalize their room to their liking.
"And here it is, your new room. I know it's plain but don't worry, we can go out shopping with the others so you can buy a few decorations and such."
"Thank you, (Y/N)." He smiled again. God, his smile is contagious. You couldn't help but smile back.
You were saying goodbye to him and his creatures, and right before you left, you turned around and looked at him, smiling. "By the way, welcome to Valorant."

Ekko and heimerdinger are being nerdy while you sleep
requested. by anon
There was always a soft hum of machinery that filled the air in Heimerdingerâs workshop. And with that accompanied by the occasional clink of tools and the professorâs enthusiastic ramblings. The workshop had an oddly calming atmosphere, a mix of glowing gadgets, bubbling contraptions, and the gentle warmth of lamp-lit light. It was perfect for dozing off, especially after a long day of following Ekko around Zaun.
You were sprawled out on the old, lumpy couch tucked in a corner of the workshop, your head cushioned by one of Ekkoâs jackets that youâd claimed for yourself. Curled up against your side was your pet, a small, scrappy Zaunite fox. Its fur was a mix of gray and russet, with glowing green streaks running along its ears and tail. Ekko had found it injured near one of the Sump scrapers, and after some patching up, it had attached itself to you like glue.
Ekko called it âScrapsâ (because of course he would), and Scraps was now peacefully snoozing, just like you.
Across the room, Ekko and Heimerdinger were huddled around one of the professorâs latest inventions, discussing something that involved words you didnât fully understand.
ââŚbut if you accelerate the coreâs energy output without stabilizing the oscillation, itâll implode,â Ekko said, gesturing animatedly at the device.
Heimerdinger adjusted his tiny glasses, nodding. âPrecisely! Which is why you must ensure the harmonic calibrations are syncedâah, but donât forget to account for temporal distortions.â
As the professor continued explaining, Ekkoâs focus wavered. His gaze drifted toward the couch where you were sleeping, your form softly rising and falling with each breath. Scraps twitched its glowing tail but stayed nestled close to you.
A small smile crept onto Ekkoâs face. You looked so peaceful, completely at odds with the chaos that usually surrounded you both in Zaun. Your hand was loosely tangled in Scrapsâ fur, your other arm tucked under your cheek.
He didnât notice the professor had stopped talking until Heimerdingerâs voice broke through his thoughts. âAh, young love,â Heimerdinger said, his tone tinged with teasing amusement.
Ekko snapped his head back toward him, blinking. âHuh? Whatâre you talking about?â
Heimerdinger chuckled, folding his hands behind his back. âThereâs no use denying it, dear boy. The way youâre looking at them, itâs rather endearing, really.â
Ekkoâs ears burned. âI wasnâtâI mean, I was justââ He trailed off, rubbing the back of his neck. âTheyâre asleep, alright? Thatâs all.â
Heimerdinger hummed, clearly unconvinced. âStill, allow me to impart some wisdom, as one who has witnessed countless romances blossom and wither over the centuries.â
âOh no,â Ekko muttered, groaning.
Ignoring him, Heimerdinger continued, his voice taking on the tone of a well-meaning but meddling elder. âWhen courting a significant other, one must always show respect, patience, and attentiveness. Flowers are an excellent gesture, but so is active listening. Communication, you see, is the foundation ofââ
âProfessor,â Ekko interrupted, exasperated. âI donât think you understand. Weâre notââ
âYoung people these days,â Heimerdinger said with a dramatic shake of his head, cutting him off. âAlways so quick to dismiss advice. But mark my words: treat them well, or youâll regret it!â
Before Ekko could retort, Scraps stirred, lifting its head with a sleepy yawn. The movement mustâve disturbed you because you shifted slightly, blinking groggily as the sound of their voices filtered through your half asleep haze.
âMm⌠whatâs going on?â you mumbled, sitting up and rubbing your eyes. Scraps hopped off the couch and stretched before circling back to your lap.
Ekko winced, shooting you an apologetic look. âSorry, Firefly,â he said softly, using the nickname heâd given you. âDidnât mean to wake you up.â
Fireflyâbecause you were always a little light in Zaunâs darkness, buzzing around him with endless energy.
You shook your head, a sleepy smile tugging at your lips. âItâs fine,â you murmured, scratching Scraps behind the ears. âWhat were you guys talking about?â
Heimerdinger perked up. âOh, nothing of consequence!â he said cheerfully, though his smirk told a different story. âMerely enlightening young Ekko on the art of courtship.â
You blinked, then glanced at Ekko, who looked like he wanted the floor to swallow him whole. âCourtship?â you repeated, raising an eyebrow.
âDonât start,â Ekko muttered, shooting Heimerdinger a look.
The professor chuckled, his ears twitching. âAh, youth. So easily embarrassed.â
You couldnât help but laugh at Ekkoâs expression, your earlier grogginess fading. âWell, did you learn anything useful?â you teased.
Ekko rolled his eyes but smiled despite himself. âYeah, yeah, laugh it up.â
He reached out, ruffling your hair gently before pulling his hand back. âFor real, though. Sorry we woke you up. Want me to walk you home?â
You shook your head, leaning back against the couch. âNah, Iâm good here. I like listening to you two talk.â
Heimerdinger beamed. âA kindred spirit indeed! Intellectual discourse is a joy to behold, is it not?â
Ekko groaned, dragging a hand down his face. âAnd now youâve encouraged him. Great.â
You just laughed again, feeling the warmth of the moment settle around you. Scraps let out a contented sigh, curling up in your lap, and Ekko plopped down on the couch beside you. His hand found yours, giving it a quick squeeze before letting go, his usual ease returning.
The three of you stayed in the workshop, for endless hours as the two nerds worked on their projects. Whereas you cheered them on at the sidelines with cute olâ Scraps to keep you company. Especially when they would talk about all the science lingo that you did not understand. Even though ekko would sometimes explain it in more simpler terms. It didnât quite go through your head. Needlessly to say you enjoyed the days you would spend at the workshop.

â i couldnât find the original post for the gif (i found it on pinterest, reposted), but the username is in the top left corner of the gif ^^
The amount of fear that ran through Hiccup when Drago yelled out his bone chilling scream, waving his staff around in the air⌠it was immeasurable. The aggression that the throaty sound held in it sent a chill down Hiccupâs spine. He knew at that moment, that he was in serious trouble.
The ground shook with each step that the bewilderbeast took towards them, and rather than the calm awe and serenity that Hiccup felt when he met his mothers bewilderbeast, looking into the eyes of this one made him feel a fear that he couldnât get rid of.
âNo dragon can resist the alphaâs command.â Drago said lowly, his voice scratching its way out of his throat. âSo, he who controls the alpha, controls them all.â
A hint of rage settled in Hiccups veins as Drago spoke, pointing his staff towards Toothless.
The rage nearly dissipated, a low sound emitting throughout snow and ice covered land. The sound came from the bewilderbeast, itâs pupils narrowed at Toothless. Toothless began shaking his head, making a noise of discomfort. âToothless?â Hiccup said worriedly.
Toothless continued to whimper, shaking his head around. âT-toothless, you okay, bud? Whatâs going on?â But all of the words leaving Hiccups mouth did nothing.
Dragoâs voice sounded again. âWitness true strength. The strength of will over others.â Drago was holding up his staff again, the pointed end pointing to Toothless, who suddenly rose, ever so still. âIn the face of it⌠you are nothing.â
When Hiccup realized he was now looking at the end of the staff, it being pointed directly at his chest, he knew that trouble was arising. Toothless slowly turned towards him, pupils as narrow as the bewilderbeastâs were. âUh,â Hiccup slowly backed away from his dragon, âWhat did he just tell you?â
Toothless got low to the ground, snarling as he slowly crept over towards his rider, who kept backing away. âToothless, come on. Whatâs the matter with you?â He felt the desperation begin to tear at his heart, knowing that there was almost nothing he could do. And sudden moves or sounds could result in the controlled Toothless to pounce on him, resulting in his demise. Even if Hiccup could get a hit in, how much would that break his heart? Would he be able to hurt his best friend?
âNo, no, no, no. Come on. What are you doing? Knock it off.â Hiccup knew he was being backed up into ice, and soon he would have no where to go. âStop!â He yelled out, âsnap out of it!â But the attempt was useless, as Toothless kept his slow, creeping pace.
The world around his became almost meaningless. It was just him, Toothless, and mountains of ice trapping him in. âToothless, no! Toothless.â
Toothless hissed, preparing to launch a heated breath of fire at him, and he felt his heart drop. âDonât!â
He almost didnât hear the broken cry of his name being shouted, his eyes remaining on Toothlessâ sharp ones. âStop!â
âHiccup!â The voice shouted again, and with wide eyes, he looked, and his heart sunk further. You were running right towards him, determination and fear in your eyes. The painful realization of what you were doing came all too quick, and his fear that was once reserved for himself was now almost entirely for you. âY/n! No!â
But it was too late, you were right next to him, and then crashing into him. Hiccup slid across the snow covered ground, gasping in fear of what heâd see when he looked at you.
He looked just in time to see the blast of fire miss youâjust in time to see it hit the ice behind you, breaking a peace of it off as it came crashing down onto you.
âNo!â
He startled himself with the cry that left his lips. The world around him faded out again. It was only you, him, and his shallow breaths. âNoâŚâ He said again, the disbelief strong in his tone. This couldnât be happening.
He ran over to you, feeling like he was going to collapse. He was by your side in secondsâhe was by your side and there you were, covered in shards of teal-blue ice. Your eyes were shut; your breathing was barely there. He feared every one of your breaths would be your last.
He groaned as he pushed the ice off of you, piece by piece. As each shard slid off, an already growing bruise was left in its wake wherever your skin was visible.
The despair was crushing him; engulfing him; making a home into his heart that was sinking even further as it buried itself into the ever so cold snow beneath him. He grabbed and pulled at your left arm, pulling you off of your side and onto your back. âY/n!â
Hiccup hardly paid attention to his mother dropping by his side, and his father close behind her. Your breaths were still so shallow.
âY/n⌠Oh, my Gods.â His breath caught in his throat, and he faintly felt his mothers hand rest on his shoulder. For the better of his own sanity, he pressed to fingers to your neck, sighing in relief at the slow and weak feeling of your heartbeat beneath his fingers. It wasnât much, but it was something.
âWake up⌠please wake up.â He ignored every sound around him, including the sound of his friends arriving to the scene. He couldnât help but to wrap his arms around you, being ever so careful and gentle with your injured form. He felt like he had already lost you, the thought making tears roll down his face. He couldnât believe that you had gotten hurt instead of him: the target.
Youâthe younger sister who came into his life when he was just 4 years old. The sister who listened to him when everyone turned a blind eye and pretended like he didnât exist. You were always there, and as he held you close, he couldnât get rid of the fear that soon you would be here no longer.
All of his attention was on you, until he heard a low coo from his very own dragon: the dragon who did this.
As Toothlessâ snout brushed up against your hand, he couldnât help the anger that enveloped him. Deep down he knew it wasnât Toothlessâ fault, but something else told him he needed something to be angry at. After seeing the way Toothlessâ had unknowingly injured you, his emotions got the best of him. âNo! Get away from her!â Hiccup harshly shoved Toothless away, feeling guilt at the way his dragon whined in response, but Hiccup was spiralling.
He stood to his feet, looking down at Toothless. âGo on! Get out of here!â
Toothless took a small step forward, his eyes holding sadness at being shouted at, but Hiccup shouted again. âGet away!â
Hiccup was a mix of emotions as Toothless coward away and ran off.
âItâs not his fault.â Valka said softly, her sadness making her voice wobble only slightly. âYou know that.â
And Hiccup did know that. He fell to his knees again, fresh tears rolling down his face as he looked at you. Your eyes were still closed.
The bewilderbeast roared out, but Hiccup almost didnât hear it as his mother spoke. âGood dragons under the control of bad people⌠do bad things.â
âCome on!â Hiccup heard someone shout, along with the sound of Toothless whimpering. He looked up, and Drago was riding a once again controlled Toothless, leading him away. âGather the men and meet me at Berk!â
Hiccup felt an urgency rush through him, and he jumped up onto his feet. âToothless!â He cried out to him, but Valka held him back. He felt useless as the alpha roared out, and Dragoâs men prepared to leave the island.
He couldnât help but to continue to cry. He just lost his best friend, and he looked down at you, worried that he would lose another. He dropped down beside you again, feeling like the entire world was against him. He felt lost and scared. He couldnât lose you. He doesnât know what heâd do without you.
âHiccupâŚâ Stoick said from behind him. Hiccup could already picture the look on his face based of the sadness in his voice.
âNo, Dad.â Why were they acting like you were already dead? You just had to wake up.
As the tears kept falling down his cheeks, his friends backed away and watched from a good distance, as he needed his space. His parents stayed close behind him.
âWe have toâ we have to do something. Why isnât anyone doing anything? My sister is dying and youâre all just standing around waiting forââ Waiting for her to die.
âHiccup,â Gobber said softly, a pained sigh leaving the manâs lips, âthereâs not much we can do, right now. Not here. Back home, maybe things would be better. But we donât have our dragons to get there, Hiccup.â
Hiccup remained looking at you, still. âSo, why are you all acting like you donât care?â Maybe that was harsh, but he was still spiralling.
âHiccup, of course we care.â When Astrid spoke, Hiccup looked at her and found a world of sadness in her eyes. Maybe she was worried for you; maybe she felt guilt and pity for him; maybe it was both. The the look in her eyes made him feel less alone.
Hiccup was silent for a few moments, and then, âThereâs nothing we can do?â He chose to ignore the way his voice cracked with emotion.
His father sighed, and removed his helmet, holding it to his chest. âNothing we can do but pray that she wakes up.â
Hiccup inhaled deeply. âI need a second alone with her.â
He didnât receive a response, he only heard the sound of footsteps slowly backing away.
With a shaking hand, he took your hand into his, watching a teardrop fall down and land on your fingertip. The desperation in him had been making a slow incline, and he wasnât sure how much of this he could take.
âYou have to wake up.â He whispered, falling back down to wrap an arm around you. âCome on. Wake up.â
But as your breathing remained slow, he felt the tears roll down a little faster, and he couldnât help the sob that slipped past his lips. âWake up. Come on, what are you doing? Get upâŚâ
A hitch in your breath.
As the sound reaches his ears, and he feels the pattern of your breath change for only a moment, his head snaps up. Your face is neutral, a scrape and bruise on your right cheekbone.
âY/n?âŚâ
Heâs filled with a sense of hope, and just as it feels like it was a trick of his mind, your breath catches again, and your brows move the smallest amount.
âOh, my Gods.â Hiccup breathes out. âY/n? Hey⌠wake up, come on.â
Your eyes began to flutter open and itâs like Hiccup and finally breathe again. He leans forward so that you see him, and your eyes meet his. âHiccup?â
Hiccup laughs, light and airy, and nods. âYeah, Iâm here. Youâre okay.
Your face scrunches up a little as you become aware of the pain running across your skin. Hiccup notices and a slight frown lands on his face.
Your hand squeezes his, âIâm glad youâre okay, Hiccup.â
Hiccup canât help the shock that runs through him. âYouâre glad Iâm okay? Iâm glad youâre okayâŚâ he then sighs, thinking about how he nearly lost you. The ache in his heart was still there, like a poison latching onto him, killing him slowly. He couldnât believe how close to death you had gotten. âI thought I was gonna lose you.â
And then he was hugging you again, being as gentle as possible. He felt you wrap an arm around his back, but he could tell that by the way your arm was shaking, it was taking more of a toll on you than youâd like to admit. Hiccup pulled back. âDonât strain yourself.â
Your eyes were still only about half open and he wouldnât be surprised if you passed out soon. âDonât worry, youâre gonna be fine. I promise.â
But his words could only be heard so clearly as the world began to fade once again. It had taken so much of your energy to stay conscious as long as you did.
âNo, no, no. Keep your eyes open, okay? Stay awake, stay awakeâ Dad!â
The last thing you saw was your brother and parents hovering over you, and then you were welcomed into a deep sleep once again.
âżť
The rest of the day went by so fast, yet so slow. Hiccup felt pride for him and Toothlessâwho he had since forgiven and apologized toâfor being able to fight against Drago and the alpha. After this, it was clear that Toothless had earned his place as the alpha. However, as all of this had been happening, you were the only thing on Hiccupâs mind. He was fighting for everyone, and most importantly to avenge you. This was Dragoâs faultâall of this. Hiccup had to do something about it, and he did.
It was likely clear how much he was worrying for you, because not long after the bewilderbeast had dove into the water, taking Drago with him, his mother was at his side. He knew from the look on her face alone that she was saying he should go to you. He didnât waste a second.
He ran up to his house, passing by people cheering and shouting out of glee, and he pushed open his front door and ran straight to your room. There you were, under the care of Gothi, tucked into your bed and bandaged wherever needed. It was honestly a wonder that they were even able to get you to Berk while you were unconscious, but they managed. Hiccup was just glad to see you now, alive and breathing.
Gothi nodded at him, making her way out of the room. Hiccup remained still for a moment, looking down at you. It pained him to see you like this.
Eventually he sat on the edge of the bed, and looked down at his hands. He felt so guilty about you getting hurt. It felt like it was his fault, somehow. You had jumped to save him, and this is where it brought the both of you. Surely, he was partially at fault for this outcome.
âYouâre not blaminâ yourself, are you?â
At the sound of your voice, Hiccup whipped his head around, eyes wide and burning with tears that havenât even quite built up yet. âYouâre awake.â
You nodded lightly, looking down at your bandaged and bruised body. You didnât regret a thing you did.
âWhy⌠did you do that?â Hiccup started slowly. He didnât expect this to be what he decided to talk about, but he got to thinking and his mouth was moving before he even realized it. âI mean⌠save meââ He took a deep breath, brows furrowing at the topic at hand.
âWhat else did you want me to do?â You said. You sounded determined, strangely enough.
âIââ
âI couldnât just⌠stand there.â
âI wanted you to.â
You sighed this time. âAnd what? Watch you die? You couldâve.â
Hiccup saw tears begin to form in your own eyes, and he somewhat felt bad for bringing this up right now. âYou couldâve, too.â
âI know.â You stated. There was a brief pause as you both collected your thoughts. You didnât want to argue about this. Neither of you wanted to make anger out of grieving for someone who hadnât even died. âI care about you, Hiccup. You looked just as scared as I felt. Even if you donât want to admit it. I donât know what I wouldâve done with myself if you got hurt, or worse. I love you, but Iâm not sorry for what I did. Iâd rather be hurt than you be hurt instead.â
Hiccup gazed down at you and realized in that moment that you were just like any other Haddockâstubborn as hell. Hiccup and his father were some of the most stubborn people on Berk, if not the most stubborn, and he wouldnât be surprised that if he got to know his mother a little more, she would turn out to be the same.
Having such a quality can be unbearable at times, but it made for some pretty promising trust with the people you love.
âWell,â Hiccup broke into a smile, chuckling lightly. âI would do the same for you.â
You laughed softly. âIâd hope so.â
Hiccup was shocked when you started pushing yourself up on the bed all of a sudden. âHey, woah, woah, woah. What are you doing?â
âRelax. I know my limits.â You snickered, and then winced. All of a sudden your arms were around Hiccup and Hiccup wasnât sure if it was the stupidest or sweetest thing youâve ever done. Probably both.
Hiccup hugged you back, his eyes closing as it felt like the day was finally calming down. âDonât ever do anything like that again.â
An amused scoff, and then, âno promises.â
Definitely a Haddock.

He is literally my favourite driver. However, I'm very unhappy with the way Lando is currently acting (it's just my opinion, please respect that) Enjoy reading!!! -XoXo
One of the interviewers, addressing Charles who was seated alongside Lewis and Nico in the media room, asked, âA question for Charles. I hope Iâm not being disrespectful with this question, but it is about your little sister. Why is Monza her first race appearance and not Monaco, and why did it take so long for her to attend a race weekend?â
It was Thursday, and the only topic on everyoneâs lips was the attendance of YN Caroline Pascale Florence Leclerc. When the Leclerc family entered the paddock today, the sight of the young Monegasque girl walking between her older brothers not only surprised the fans but also caught the mediaâs attention, as it was her first-ever Formula 1 appearance.
Charles responded to the first part of the question with a smile, "Ah, yes. Iâve been asked that a lot today. Well, itâs actually quite simple. My sister wasnât in Monaco to see the race in person because she was at home with our grandmother, watching the race together. Since the start of my Formula 1 career, my sister and grandmother have always watched the races together at my grandmotherâs home. There are a couple of reasons for this tradition: 1. My sister was too young to attend the paddock a few years ago. With all the media and fans, it would have been quite overwhelming for her. 2. My grandmother isnât very healthy anymore, so itâs easier for her to stay at home, where itâs cooler, and she can relax in peace. So, this has become their Monaco Race tradition, and I wouldnât want to ruin that just because people are wondering where YN is."
Before Charles could address the second part of the question, Lewis interjected, preventing the reporters from probing further. âThat is a really sweet tradition. And Charles is right. Why should he ruin a family tradition, or in this case, a grandmother-granddaughter tradition, just because the fans and media think YN must attend the Grand Prix in person? From the sounds of it, all parties seem happy with how things are.â
Nico, who had been listening intently, nodded in agreement and added, âAbsolutely. Family traditions are important, and itâs heartwarming to hear about the bond between your sister and grandmother. Itâs not always about being physically present at the races; itâs about the shared experience and the memories they create together.â
Charles smiled thankfully at Lewis and Nico before agreeing with them. âYeah, everyone is happy with how things are, and it doesnât matter because, in the end, we always have a nice big family dinner with everyone. For the second part of your question about why it took so long for my sister to make an appearance, there is also a simple answer. My sister recently turned 18 years old, meaning she now counts as an adult. However, when I started in Formula 1, she was only 12 years old, meaning she was a little girl. My family and I had a long talk about this when I first started racing, and none of us felt comfortable with the thought of her getting swarmed by the media or fans at such a young age. We wanted her to be able to go to school or meet up with friends without getting photographed all the time. As some of you might have seen, I only posted pictures of my sister where her face was covered up just for privacy. But now she is 18 years old, she made the decision to attend this weekend, so Iâll respect that. However, I still ask everybody to not swarm her and leave her as much privacy as possible. She is here to watch the race and not to be the new art piece for social media."
With the strong words from the Ferrari driver, the media stopped asking questions about the youngest Leclerc, making her brother's life a bit easier this weekend.
_______________________________________________
The next few days passed quickly and YN enjoyed every minute with it. Not only was the young girl able to see her brothers all of the time, but everybody was also so nice to her. AT the Ferrari garage, the mechanics always greeted her and answered all her questions. The other team members were always quick to inform YN about the newest paddock Gossip over some watermelon and strawberry gelato. Carlos, her brothers team mate, told her all of Charles embarrassing stories, making her laugh till she cried. And the best part for her was, that her family was always there as well. And before she could even blink, it was finally race day.
The air was electric at the Autodromo Nazionale Monza, where the excitement of the Formula 1 race filled the atmosphere with palpable energy. YN, a bright-eyed girl with a heart full of enthusiasm, stood between her two older brothers, Arthur and Lorenzo. The three of them wore matching Ferrari shirts, their faces painted with the iconic red logo.
âCan you believe weâre finally here?â YN exclaimed, her eyes sparkling as she took in the sprawling racetrack and the roaring engines.
âI know! Itâs incredible!â Arthur replied, grinning broadly. He ruffled her hair affectionately. âYouâre going to love this, YN. Just wait until the race starts!â
Lorenzo leaned in closer, his voice a mix of excitement and pride. âAnd just think, youâre going to see Charles out there racing! This is his second home track!â
YN's eyes widened with joy. âI canât wait! Iâve watched him on TV, but seeing him in person is going to be amazing!â
As the cars lined up on the starting grid, the atmosphere thickened with anticipation. The siblings exchanged glances, feeling the thrill of the moment. Suddenly, the crowd erupted into cheers as the drivers took their positions, and YN jumped up and down.
âLook! There he is!â YN pointed excitedly as Charles, her older brother, appeared on the screen, adjusting his helmet and climbing into his Ferrari.
âGo, Charles!â Arthur shouted, pumping his fist in the air. Lorenzo joined in, his voice booming, âYouâve got this, Charles! Show them what youâre made of!â
With the race about to begin, YN felt a flutter of nerves mixed with excitement. âWhat if he sees us?â she asked, her voice a mixture of hope and anxiety.
âHe will! He always looks for us,â Lorenzo assured her, wrapping an arm around her shoulder. âAnd heâll be so happy to see you here for your first race!â
The lights turned green, and the cars shot off the line, the sound of engines roaring like a symphony of speed. YNâs eyes were glued to the track, her heart racing in rhythm with the cars as they sped by. âThis is so fast! Look at them go!â she shouted, her excitement contagious.
As the laps progressed, the tension in the air grew. YN cheered for Charles, her small voice echoing through the grandstands. âCome on, Charles! You can do it!â
Finally, after what felt like an eternity, the race came to an end, and Charles crossed the finish line in a spectacular first place. The crowd erupted in applause, and YN jumped up, beaming. âHe did it! He did it!â
Arthur and Lorenzo hugged her tightly. âHeâs amazing!â Lorenzo exclaimed, his voice barely able to contain his excitement. âIâm so proud of him!â
As the drivers began to celebrate, YN spotted Charles climbing out of his car, his face lit up with joy. He scanned the crowd, and when his eyes landed on his family, his smile widened even more. âI see them!â he shouted, pointing towards them.
âCharles!â YN screamed, waving her arms wildly.
Charles jogged over to the barrier, his heart swelling with happiness as he spotted his little sister. âYN! Did you enjoy the race?â he called out, leaning over the fence to get a better look at her.
âOf course I did! I loved it! You were amazing!â she exclaimed, her cheeks flushed with excitement.
âDid you really? Iâm so glad youâre here!â Charles leaned closer, his eyes shining with pride. âYou were cheering so loud! I could hear you!â
âReally?â YNâs eyes widened in disbelief, and she giggled. âI was so nervous! But it was the best day ever!â
Arthur chimed in, âYou shouldâve seen her, Charles. She was a little ball of energy the whole time!â
âYN, youâre my lucky charm!â Charles laughed, ruffling her hair. âI need you at every race now!â
âI will! I promise!â she giggled back, feeling like the happiest girl in the world.
Lorenzo grinned at his brothers. âYou should be proud. You raced well, Charles. Youâre amazing out there!â
âThanks, man. It means a lot,â Charles replied, his voice filled with gratitude. âBut the real highlight was seeing YN here. I canât believe itâs her first time!â
Just then, the crowd roared with applause as Charlesâs fellow drivers approached, congratulating him. He turned back to YN, âLetâs take a picture! I want to remember this moment!â
âYes! Letâs do it!â YN squealed, and the three brothers gathered around her, arms wrapped tightly.
With the sun setting behind them, painting the sky in shades of orange and pink, they posed for a picture. Charles held YN close, a protective arm around her shoulders, while Arthur and Lorenzo beamed with pride.
âSay Ferrari!â Charles instructed, and they all shouted in unison, âFerrari!â
As they snapped the picture, YN felt a warmth in her heart, knowing that this day would be etched in her memory forever. âI canât wait for the next race!â she declared, looking up at her brothers.
âNeither can we,â Arthur said, pulling her in for another hug. âWeâll make sure youâre at every race!â
âAbsolutely,â Lorenzo added, a grin plastered on his face. âYouâre part of the team now, YN!â
Charles smiled down at his little sister, feeling grateful for the love and support of his family. âIâm so lucky to have you all here. This was the best race ever.â
As the excitement of the race began to settle, YN, Arthur, and Lorenzo found a cozy spot near the track where they could watch the celebration unfold. The atmosphere was alive with the sounds of laughter, cheers, and the roar of the fans.
âLook at them!â YN pointed to Charles, who was now surrounded by teammates and fans. He was smiling from ear to ear, clearly reveling in the joy of the moment. âHe looks so happy!â
âHe is happy,â Arthur replied, leaning back against the railing. âItâs not just about the race; itâs about sharing it with the people you love.â
âYeah, and he knows weâre here cheering him on,â Lorenzo added, a proud grin on his face. âHeâs always been a family guy.â
YN beamed, her heart swelling with pride. âI canât believe I got to see him race in person. It was so cool!â
As the celebrations continued, YNâs attention was suddenly caught by a group of fans waving banners and holding up signs. âLook over there! They have a sign for Charles!â she exclaimed, pointing excitedly.
âLetâs go check it out!â Arthur suggested, and they made their way through the crowd, YN leading the charge.
When they reached the group, they encountered a colorful banner that read, âCharles Leclerc, our champion!â YNâs eyes sparkled with admiration.
âCan I hold it?â she asked, her voice filled with eagerness.
âOf course! Here you go!â one of the fans replied, handing the banner to her. YN beamed with joy as she held it high above her head.
âCharles! Over here!â she shouted, waving the banner enthusiastically.
Charles turned, catching sight of his little sister holding the sign, and his heart swelled with affection. âYN! Thatâs amazing!â he called back, flashing her a thumbs-up.
âLook, he sees us!â Lorenzo said, his excitement contagious.
âLetâs take another picture!â Arthur suggested, pulling out his phone.
As they posed with the banner, YN felt a surge of happiness. This was a moment she would cherish forever. After snapping a few pictures, they decided to head back to the main area where the podium ceremony was about to take place.
âYN, youâre going to love this part!â Lorenzo said, guiding her through the crowd. âThis is where the drivers get their trophies.â
As they settled into a spot with a great view of the podium, YN couldnât contain her excitement. âI canât wait to see Charles get his trophy!â
When the drivers were finally called up to the podium, the crowd erupted into cheers. Charles stood proudly on the first-place step, his trophy gleaming in the sunlight. YN clapped and cheered along with her older brothers.
Charles looked down at his family, and his smile only grew wider. He raised the trophy high above his head, and the crowd roared in response.
After the ceremony, Charles made his way through the crowd toward his family, still clutching the trophy. âYou guys are the best! Thank you for being here!â he exclaimed, enveloping YN in a warm embrace.
âIâm so proud of you, Charles!â YN squeaked, her face lighting up with adoration. âYou were so fast!â
âThanks, little sis! It means the world to me that you came to support me,â he replied, tousling her hair again. âI hope you enjoyed it.â
âI loved it!â she said, her eyes glistening. âCan we come to every race now?â
âAbsolutely! Weâll make it a tradition,â Charles promised, exchanging a knowing glance with Arthur and Lorenzo, who nodded in agreement.
As the sun began to set, painting the sky in hues of pink and orange, the siblings gathered for one last photograph together. Charles held the trophy aloft, with YN standing proudly beside him, a huge grin plastered on her face.
