9/11 was a tragic event that caused the birth of mcr. Gerard Way is the lead singer, and he watched the towers fall. Note, it was the day after Mikey's 21'st birthday and he was hungover, and Mikey had never picked up a bass in his life. Fast-forward a few weeks and they got signed a record label, and the first album made was "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love".
