Message To All Parents:

Message to all parents:

- Not taking your child’s injuries seriously when they’re younger, may make them feel like they can’t tell you anything when they’re older. - PLEASE let your kid take personal days once in awhile once they reach highschool. - Grades are NOT everything. You can get plenty of well paying jobs now without having to go to college. - Really strict parenting leads to sneaky kids. Trust me. - Let them be who they want. They can’t change who they are, whether it is sexual orientation, gender identity or anything else. They need someone to support them. - ^ Never say “you’re too young to know” - ¼ teenagers deal with a mental illness of some sort (in the U.S). Please make sure they’re okay. - You can’t MAKE them chose an educational field. - Even an A+ student who’s a star athlete can be suicidal. - MENTAL HEALTH COMES FIRST - Self harm is more common than you think amongst teenagers. It’s also not always cutting (or on wrists). Be aware. - Sex ed. doesn’t teach them anything. - Tattoos and piercing aren’t “unprofessional” anymore - If they have depression, please DO NOT call them lazy. It’s almost the worst insult you could say. - If their grades are dropping for no reason, ask about it. Don’t assume things. - Most teenagers don’t have high self esteem. Don’t make it worse. - School is much harder now than it ever has been before. - Not everyone on the internet is a predator - It’s normal to have internet friends now - Take them seriously

To all the lesbians who gave their first kiss to a boy.

To all the lesbians who aren't "golden star lesbians".

To all the lesbians that had to deal with compulsory heterosexuality.

To all the lesbians who felt pressured by society to be with boys.

To all the lesbians who had a really tough time coming to terms with their identity.

To all the lesbians who put up with any kind of lesbophobia on the daily.

To all the lesbians who have to listen to guys their age sexualizing gay girls.

You are walking through hell with your chin up and I am so proud of you. I love you and you're valid.

I like the word gay. But I like “lesbian” better.

I like it because of Sappho of Lesbos, a lesbian and a Lesbian whose memory reminds us that women who loved women existed long before any time on earth that any living person can remember.

I like it because of Sappho’s poetry, the sweet prose she wrote for the goddess Aphrodite, the goddess of love. Aphrodite has her counterpart in the Roman goddess Venus, whose symbol has evolved to represent the woman, the female, the feminine.

I like it because of its culture and history. Butch, fem, stud, dyke. Bars where women drink and dance and laugh and kiss other women. Boston marriages. Women’s colleges. They wanted Ellen to get a puppy but she wanted to kiss a lady.

It hasn’t all been pretty. This word has been taken from us, made into a fetish, a porn category, fuel for men’s libidos. Hysterical. Asocial. Deviants. Lesbians.

But that makes me love it all the more—to spite them, to spite the men who salivate over us, to spite the churches that rally against us, to spite it all. But I wear this badge for more than just spite. I wear it for love. Love for women, love for our history, love for love for… lesbian.

It’s not a dirty word. It’s beautiful, and I am proud to call myself a lesbian.

This Isn’t Related To My Blog Aesthetic But I’m Tired Of Seeing Posts Where People Are Making Others

This isn’t related to my blog aesthetic but I’m tired of seeing posts where people are making others paranoid that they’re in a coma or something. You’re not. I know lots of us know it’s just a bad “joke,” but some people don’t have the luxury of being able to believe that after seeing others tell them otherwise.

You’re awake. Everything is okay.

Hello everyone, just a few notes:

This blog believes police brutality is real and is against it.

This blog believes black lives matter.

This blog knows white privilege exists.

This blog believes all should be held accountable for their violent actions no matter what their profession.

This blog believes that if you defend the actions and protect the people doing these things, then you’re just as guilty.

This blog believes the murder of George Floyd and any unarmed and cooperating black person by a police officer is inexcusable.

This blog does not want to hear the excuses you have prepared to defend the clearly wrong and horrible actions of the police officers who treat black people like their lives are disposable.

This blog believes having black skin is not a crime.

This blog is aware of white privilege and is doing their best to educate themselves on the issues that matter.

^ this is NOT open for discussion. If you disagree with ant of the point I made, then unfollow me.
