âWe chose the term âasexualâ to describe ourselves because both âcelibateâ and âanti-sexualâ have connotations we wished to avoid: the first implies that one has sacrificed sexuality for some higher good, the second that sexuality is degrading or somehow inherently bad. âAsexualâ, as we use it, does not mean âwithout sexâ but ârelating sexually to no oneâ. This does not, of course, exclude masturbation but implies that if one has sexual feelings they do not require another person for their expression. Asexuality is, simply, self-contained sexuality.â
â The Asexual Manifesto, Lisa Orlando and Barbara Getz, 1972

i'm curious- i just saw the post mentioning fics, if ur comfortable sharing, what are some of ur favorite mha/bkdk fics you've read?- ps i absolutely love everything abt your art it's amazing đ«¶
tysm !! All the recs I've shared are under the tag "fic recs" and I've made two posts so far here and here but I'm happy to share more !
once forgotten, twice removed by blueh - 42k complete - AFO from a universe where deku is a villain, brings over deku from a universe where he's a pro hero assuming he's a villain in that universe as well, things do not go well for AFO. Super great, it's pretty popualar but I wanted to include it cause it's a favourite of mine :)
dogs days by keyhimura - 14k complete - Bakugou gets hit with a quirk which slowly turns him more and more into a wolf, he has a soft spot for deku :') This one is bkdk and I love it a bunch ! (off topic but I always forget that the title is plural dogs not singular dog so it took me a hot second to find it)
mortality by jojojonah - 34k complete - Deku has a quirk that he didn't know about that's essentially an immortality quirk, he can come back to life after dying, but it takes a bit longer for his memories to come back. Little angsty and was fun to read !
call me izuku (orphan account) - 5k complete - Deku's hit with a quirk that makes it so nobody can remember who is is and he can't tell people who he is. He spends time at shikestu, short and sweet :')
ask for kacchan - deadwriter16 - 21k complete - quirkless!deku who's a big hero nerd and ph!bakugou. Kind of a new girl au, Deku's searching for an apartment and finds an ad looking for a fourth roommate, little does he know, they're all pro heroes. It's silly and great <3
I still canât believe that in the last 10 years Superman, Green Arrow, Flash and Supergirl all had live-action shows about them with 100-200 episodes, meanwhile Batman literally didnât have his own show since the 60âČs??
Like yeah heâs definitely overexposed on the big screen, but the fact fact that he (nor any of the Batkids) never had their own TV show is crazy to me.
So my best friend and I started joking about how crazy our old private school was and the more we talked the more we realized it was actually really messed up and horrifying. So hereâs some things that happened to me from 4th to 12th grade in my American private school!
- The entire school was taken out of class for an entire afternoon to silently hold hands in a field as a âfundraiserâ for the school gym. The principal went around with a bottle of water for kids to drink out of via waterfall so we wouldnât pass out in the 85+ degree heat.
- We spent an entire semester watching nothing but kidnapping videos for our âlife scienceâ class. Given this was during the Kony 2012 instance but weâd watch videos not only about him raising his child army, but also security footage of different children getting kidnapped or almost getting kidnapped so weâd know we werenât safe anywhere. We werenât taught how to avoid it, just that it was very possible. We werenât in high school yet is all ill say.
- A teacher was hired who had no education or training as a teacher, was doing drugs on campus, and would spend entire class periods cursing out children and telling them they would never amount to anything.
- We watched videos of people being possessed by demons, terrorized by demons, and so on. In two separate years.
- We were never taught what mental health was. At all. There was only demon possession.
- We had to do a project on abortion which included looking up and printing out pictures of the different steps then presenting it to the class to prove why abortion was wrong.
- We were told to never have sex or else weâd get STDs. We were never told what sex or STDs were, much less how to prevent STDs or have safe sex. The word sex was used maybe once and only with ânever haveâ in front of it.
- Girls (yes only girls) were told theyâd be viewed as âsecond hand goodsâ if they kissed a boy before marriage and no one would want them. This was in our Life Management textbook.
- Boys were told to walk on or next to the road on a date so theyâd be hit with a car and die instead of the girl. It was not a âjust in caseâ thing. It was a âyou will sacrifice yourself at 12 years oldâ thing.
- We watched a slow motion, graphic video of two teenage girls getting into a horrific car accident because they were texting and driving. It was acted out but left nothing to the imagination. They died in the video and we saw it all.
- For prom, if you brought someone from outside the school, your date had to be interviewed by the principal and the dean, fill out paperwork and sign in, and then you and your date had to get a lecture from the dean about how we were expected to act at prom.
- We were told to never date anyone who wasnât of the same religion as us. If we did, we would marry them, have kids, get into fights, divorse, lose everything to the ex-spouse, and end up living under a bridge starving to death with your children for the rest of your life. This was a legit example used in the Life Management textbook.
- We were not told what abuse was or the different forms it took.
- Teachers would âkidnapâ an entire class in between periods to prank another teacher. Sometimes an entire class would go missing for a whole hour because of this.
- We skipped over the entire chapter on breast cancer in our health class because it had the word breast in it. We never learned how to check for breast cancer ourselves to make sure we were healthy. It was an all girls class.
- The Life Management book had a story in it about a man and a woman. The âhomelyâ man was in love with the woman and asked her to marry him (they were not in a relationship). She said no. He kept asking her for YEARS and she kept saying no but he wouldnât give up. Eventually, she looked over at him in church one day and realized wow looks donât matter at all heâs a good religious man. She agreed to marry him the next time he asked. So I guess if she says no you just keep asking! Youâll wear her down eventually!
- We never learned what rape was.
- We never learned what sex was or how to have it safely.
- We never learned what mental health was and how to get help.
- We never learned what abuse was and how to have a healthy relationship besides the above mentioned ânever take no,â âyouâre broken if you arenât pure,â and âsacrifice yourself by throwing yourself in front of a bus.â
- We were taught in Life Management that men needed to ask out the woman. If she did it, the relationship would forever be unbalanced and heâd feel inferior and would never respect her.
- Rock music is a sin so donât listen to it
- Women who go too far are second hand goods and will die alone because no one wants them.
- Donât kiss before marriage because thatâll make it more special.
- We did a whole project on why evolution is wrong. And were never told what evolution was beforehand.
Iâm sure thereâs more but thatâs just off the top of our heads! Can honestly say it was the most toxic environment Iâve ever been in and Iâm horrified looking back on it.
I want to live by myself when I move out of my parent's place but I'm really afraid of money problems? I'm afraid that the only place I can afford will be in the ghetto and it'll all be torn apart and I'll only be allowed to eat one granola bar a week. I'm really stressing out about this. I don't know anything about after school life. I don't know anything about paying bills or how to buy an apartment and it's really scaring me. is there anything you know that can help me?

Once youâve looked over all those cool links, I have some general advice for you on how you can have some sort of support system going for you:
You may decide to leave home for many different reasons, including:
wishing to live independently
location difficulties â for example, the need to move closer to university
conflict with your parents
being asked to leave by your parents.
Itâs common to be a little unsure when you make a decision like leaving home. You may choose to move, but find that you face problems you didnât anticipate, such as:
Unreadiness â you may find you are not quite ready to handle all the responsibilities.
Money worries â bills including rent, utilities like gas and electricity and the cost of groceries may catch you by surprise, especially if you are used to your parents providing for everything. Debt may become an issue.
Flatmate problems â issues such as paying bills on time, sharing housework equally, friends who never pay board, but stay anyway, and lifestyle incompatibilities (such as a non-drug-user flatting with a drug user) may result in hostilities and arguments.
Think about how your parents may be feeling and talk with them if they are worried about you. Most parents want their children to be happy and independent, but they might be concerned about a lot of different things. For example:
They may worry that you are not ready.
They may be sad because they will miss you.
They may think you shouldnât leave home until you are married or have bought a house.
They may be concerned about the people you have chosen to live with.
Reassure your parents that you will keep in touch and visit regularly. Try to leave on a positive note. Hopefully, they are happy about your plans and support your decision.
Tips include:
Donât make a rash decision â consider the situation carefully. Are you ready to live independently? Do you make enough money to support yourself? Are you moving out for the right reasons?
Draw up a realistic budget â donât forget to include âhiddenâ expenses such as the propertyâs security deposit or bond (usually four weeksâ rent), connection fees for utilities, and home and contents insurance.
Communicate â avoid misunderstandings, hostilities and arguments by talking openly and respectfully about your concerns with flatmates and parents. Make sure youâre open to their point of view too â getting along is a two-way street.
Keep in touch â talk to your parents about regular home visits: for example, having Sunday night dinner together every week.
Work out acceptable behaviour â if your parents donât like your flatmate(s), find out why. It is usually the behaviour rather than the person that causes offence (for example, swearing or smoking). Out of respect for your parents, ask your flatmate(s) to be on their best behaviour when your parents visit and do the same for them.
Ask for help â if things are becoming difficult, donât be too proud to ask your parents for help. They have a lot of life experience.
Not everyone who leaves home can return home or ask their parents for help in times of trouble. If you have been thrown out of home or left home to escape abuse or conflict, you may be too young or unprepared to cope.
If you are a fostered child, you will have to leave the state-care system when you turn 18, but you may not be ready to make the sudden transition to independence.
If you need support, help is available from a range of community and government organisations. Assistance includes emergency accommodation and food vouchers. If you canât call your parents or foster parents, call one of the associations below for information, advice and assistance.
Your doctor
Kids Helpline Tel. 1800 55 1800
Lifeline Tel. 13 11 44

Relationships Australia Tel. 1300 364 277
Centrelink Crisis or Special Help Tel. 13 28 50
Tenants Union of Victoria Tel. (03) 9416 2577
Try to solve any problems before you leave home. Donât leave because of a fight or other family difficulty if you can possibly avoid it.
Draw up a realistic budget that includes âhiddenâ expenses, such as bond, connection fees for utilities, and home and contents insurance.
Remember that you can get help from a range of community and government organizations.Â

Well fucks? Get to it!
hi! Iâm so sorry if this is a bother, but i thought you might be a good person to ask. i recently rewatched danny phantom as an adult - i loved it as a kid and wanted a good dose of nostalgia. after typing in the tag it was wild to find the phandom still up and kicking (honestly with more passion than iâve seen from any fandom in my 8 years of tumblr). i immediately came across fanart for phantom of truth which i devoured along with its sequel in just a few days. i also read pits by cordria and loved it, but in the last week iâve hit a bit of a research lull. i was wondering if you could fill me in on some details - maybe point me in the direction of popular fics or material? also, could you please explain wes weston to me - is there a particular fic he was born from or did he just sort of appear in fan lore? if not no worries, but iâd appreciate anything you had to offer!! thanks :)
Welcome to the phandom!
So the phandom in general is SUPER big on events. We have a year round event's calendar of which we're currently celebrating Ectober Month! You can find the details to that in the calendar along with other upcoming events!
In general, you'll find a LOT of incoming dp fan media through events and their tags, and that's where I tend to find new writers/artists to follow each year.
I've made two in depth posts on Wes Weston, so I'll just link them here [1: the older detailed wes] [2: a more updated wes]. The basic intel though is that yes he's entirely a phandom made OC that we've just adopted to fill a social hole in the dp universe.
There are tons of amazing DP writers and fics. I'll link you a few of my faves! In no particular order,
1. @imekitty (her ffn) is an older phandom writer who is kinda my personal gold standard for angst. She's also done some awesome slash fics though! Her current most popular series is the Disparaged/Dissembled series and fair warning, it's pretty dark!
2. @ecto-american (ghostanimal on ao3) is another older phandom writer who's still super active! He's currently most known for his fic Broken Ectoplasm, which is a bit darker than his usual pieces. Regardless, he has a pretty good range!
3. @five-rivers (marsalias on ao3) is an absolute writing fiend. I literally can't think of a genre of fic that they haven't written. They're currently best known for their monster of a longfic Mortified, which is ongoing and currently sits at a 258 chapters, or a little over a half million words. I personally am a big fan of their Exhumed series.
4. @wastefulreverie (her ao3) doesn't write a ton for dp anymore, but her archive of fics is AMAZING. Every so often I'll just go binge her writing, it's seriously fantastic. I think she has written some of my favorite angst fics that I've found so far.
5. @ladylynse (lynse on ao3) is another really big writer who also does a fair amount of crossovers if you're into that. Currently, her biggest fic is The Trouble With Ghosts which is an extremely popular fic currently. Good stuff!
6. @things-i-cannot-do-in-amitypark (their ao3) has several extremely popular fics on ao3 and ffn. I definitely recommend checking out their stuff. They've been writing DP for years and really have a great grasp on narration and building an exciting story.
7. @kinglazrus (UnluckyAlis on ao3) is actually one of the fastest writers I've ever freaking met. They're most known for their fic The Survivalists which is about Danny's class disappearing only to be found stranded on an island. Overall, really fun writer and also a cool person as well.
8. I know you said you read Pits, but @cordria has a TON of oneshots on her Tumblr as well as her ffn and ao3. I've been following her works for years and she really is an absolute S tier writer.
9. Shift by CaptainOzone is literally my favorite dp fic ever written. The basic premise is that Danny didn't grow up in Amity, and is revealed as Phantom right before he moves there. Oz is an outstanding writer and I'm super pumped they dipped their toes into DP for this fic.
10. when im dead, my dearest by redrobin1989 is only three chapters long, but i think honestly it really exemplifies an incredibly well written Valerie-centered fic. I go back and reread it every so often because wowowow.
11. Roughing It by Haiju is a big phandom favorite. You already read PoT/SOAD, so I know you'll like this one hahaha.
12. The Ghost Of Heroes by Enigmaris and ScarletNightFury is a really popular DP/MCU crossover starring an amazing bond between Danny and Spiderman. It's a pretty lighthearted fic, but it's super fun and the storylines are really engaging.
13. Don't Threaten Me With A Good Time by MissMegHolden is a DP/Young Justice fic that's very popular right now if you like that crossover. It's ongoing and updates semi-regularly. I've been following it for a while and I love it, though this is one of my fave crossover types (and I'm a big fan of DP crossovers lmao).
14. In The Eye of a Needle by mystyrust is an extremely popular DP/BNHA crossover fic that is completed. This is another one of those fics I go back and reread a lot.
Okay I could keep going but I'm going to stop here for now. All in all, I definitely recommend scouring event tags for new writers/artists. The phandom also has a discord that you can always DM me for an invite. The phandom in general is extremely chill. We're an older fandom so we really don't have drama or anything.
Once again, I welcome you and I hope you have fun!
(oh quick plug my own ao3 i write a lot of angst)
