A Pot-in-pot Refrigerator, Clay Pot Cooler is An Evaporative Cooling Refrigeration Device Which Does

A pot-in-pot refrigerator, clay pot cooler is an evaporative cooling refrigeration device which does not use electricity. It uses a porous outer earthenware pot, lined with wet sand, contains an inner pot (which can be glazed to prevent penetration by the liquid) within which the food is placed - the evaporation of the outer liquid draws heat from the inner pot. The device can be used to cool any substance. This simple technology requires only a flow of relatively dry air and a source of water.

Can we please stop associating being a good person with how much you're willing to suffer in silence for other people? You can be a kind person and still say "no, I don't have the time/energy to help you with that." You can be a kind person and still say "this makes me uncomfortable, please stop." You can be a kind person and still say "I disagree and here's why." You can be kind and still say "I'm not okay with this." Being kind is about treating people with kindness and respect, not about being the human equivalent of a doormat!

What Is Tech Magic? [Updated]

After getting more into the tumblr witchcraft scene, I’ve learned a LOT, and found some tech magic resources to help y'all so it’s time for an update of my previous What Is Tech Magic? post, now featuring how to actually do things! It’s gonna be long so here’s a friendly cut

What Is Tech Magic?

Tech magic(also known as techno magic by some) is magic using technology such as computers, phones, tablets, etc. It can be anything from a spell written into code to a sigil as your wallpaper to a ward using your WiFi router.

I personally started with tech magic for 2 reasons:

1. I love technology and have grown up using it

2. It’s really easy to keep hidden in ways both magical and mundane

Some basic, and extremely common, forms of tech magic that you may already be doing include:

Online BoS, grimoire, whatever you refer to you ~magical book thing~ as

Emoji spells

”Reblog to get money” type posts- A lot of people don’t realize it, but these are quite magical! We have the intent(money, luck, etc) and the energy(everyone who reblogs it adds their belief or hope, charging it)

How Can I Use Technology In My Craft?

Actually using technology for witchcraft isn’t all that difficult, but can be weird for traditional magic users, so here’s a quick “Getting Started Guide”:

Choose a piece of technology to use - while this step isn’t necessary, getting used to one object’s energy will help when starting out. I recommend something you already use a lot, such as your phone!

Feel its energy - Just sit and hold it(or touch it if it’s too big to hold) and let its energy flow through you and yours through it.

Practice manipulating it’s energy like you would with anything else, pull it in, push it out, etc.

Find a specific spell you want to use! If you are a closeted witch maybe try a hiding spell or something similar!

Do it!!! Do the spell!

Cleanse your electronics!!!! Like anything else, they can get bad energy, so make sure you cleanse them regularly!

Connect to more technology! I like streetlights personally, they have a strange energy.

Some Cleansing Tips

Bless/enchant your charger to cleanse while charging

Any normal cleansing method, smoke (don’t burn it!! Also idk about how smoke might affect the inner workings), Selenite, manually, etc. This seems like it should be obvious but Don’t Use Water My Dudes

A charmed background to auto cleanse!

Candle apps

Some other random tips

Putting your phone’s background to spells/charms/sigils is amazing. I once had a thing for “I find cool stuff at the thrift store” and immediately found a signed Fallout Boy poster. I live in a city with like maybe 50000 people? It was a salvation army too like that was high quality shit

Cocoppa? I think is the name? Is an Android app that will change the icons for Apps so do with that info what you will

Tech magic is just as valid as any other form and can be incorporated with other types!!!

Tech magic isn’t just phones! Computers, TV’s, anything electronic basically can be used!

Learning to code can add some boppin’ things to your craft that I don’t want to go into right now

Some Tech Magic Posts

A master post of apps and stuff

A cool amulet

Some coding witch thoughts

A tech sigil tip

Adding sigils into code [1] [2]

I couldn’t find any tech magic focused blogs :( if you know of one let me know and I’ll keep a list!!!

As always, if you have questions or suggestions just ask!

So Someone Had Messaged Us And Told Us About This App Called Ecosia So I Decided To Check It Out And

So someone had messaged us and told us about this app called Ecosia so I decided to check it out and basically it’s free search engine similar to Google to where about every 40 searches you do they plant a tree (some other stuff as well but I can’t remember also they get money from ads to plant the trees but it doesn’t obstruct the view of anything you are searching) I downloaded it and used it a few times and it works pretty well so I would recommend it (please reblog I would appreciate it but you don’t have to if you don’t want to!) What The Pendulum Means

I do my pendulum readings very simply. They can mean different things from different people, but I will tell you the basic rule of thumb.

1. Pendulums swing clockwise or counterclockwise whenever one asks a yes or no question. Clockwise is yes, and counter clockwise is no.

2. Sometimes the pendulum will swing in an exaggerated circle, meaning whatever it is you are asking means “strong yes” or “strong no”.

3. The latter is exactly what you would think; Meaning your pendulum is barely moving in a circle, this being a weak yes or a weak no.

4. Yes means yes, of course, and no means no.

5. But what does “neutral” mean? Neutral, to me, means you are not supposed to know. There is no spiritual energy or force around to swing the pendulum. The pendulum either does not move, or it swings in a straight line.

Do not take my readings as the pinnacle of absolute truth. I am just a humble witch with a crystal on a chain!

broke witch hacks 🍄

🌙 use old socks to make spell satchets! these are also great because theyve spent a lot of time with you, so the spell will have an enhanced effect :))

🌙 buy your herbs in bulk!!!!!!!!! never pay more than a dollar for a lil bag of herbs! buy huge bags of them, you wont regret this! i recently bought a huge container of cinnamon sticks, i absolutely love it.

🌙 if you simply cannot get a physical copy of a book, download a pdf of old grimoires and spellbooks! theres so much knowledge out there, you just have to go find it!

🌙 cant afford fancy herbs? thats okay! table salt can be used in almost every recipe, (savory) and has cleansing properties. it can also protect against misfortune. pepper is also good for banishing negativity, and if you can get your hands on some cinnamon or sage those are wonderful for drawing love and happiness, and sage is perfect for cleansing.

🌙 if you cant afford a big fancy leather vintage whatever book for your bos, its okay! a composition book is fine. better yet, you can use the notes app on your phone! this is great for if youre on the go.

🌙 not being able to afford fancy shiny gems and crystals is okay!!!!!! stones you find yourself have a much more sentimental value and can be used just as youd use any other rock.

🌙 you dont have to dress witchy!!!!!!!!! witches can wear whatever, they dont have to wear all black and crystal necklaces! although thats the aesthetic i hope to achieve

🌙 meditate. even if its the only magick you can do! try energy work!!!!

🌙 collect rocks and sticks and stones and plants you find! go outside hunting for cool rocks! talk to the bugs! hug the trees!

🌙 hotels sometimes have tea in the lobby, steal a crap ton of teabags because fuck capitalism

the most magickal tool is yourself. you are divine 💘

reminder:

tarot cards have set meanings, yes, but each deck has different depictions that change the meaning slightly (colors, images, directions, etc. can change the way it is interpreted), and your intuition should influence the reading. your first interpretation of the cards is what your gut is telling you. trust it. there are many ways to interpret any set of cards you draw, so listen to that little voice in your head. it knows best.

clairvoyance 101 💖👀

when translated, clairvoyance means ‘clear sight’! It’s the intuitive ability that uses the mind’s eye/third eye or physical eyes to receive messages. whenever a psychic or intuitive reader uses the words ‘I see’ or ‘i’m seeing’ during a reading, it’s safe to assume that they’re exercising clairvoyance! just a note: everyone has the ability to use clairvoyance. it is NOT some whimsical, fantasy gift that you see in movies. everyone has the ability to unlock these tools!

✨ signs you’re clairvoyant ✨

the space between your eyebrows (your pineal gland) randomly twitches, tingles, or feels warm to the touch.

you have intensely vivid dreams!

you had an active imagination as a child, probably still do.

you felt like you could physically see your imaginary friends when you were younger.

you’re more of a visual learner.

when you’re reading books, you tend to form clear images of what the characters look like and might feel immersed in the scenery!

you notice a bright glow around people’s heads or upper body.

you like visual arts!

you get lost in your own imagination and tend to daydreams about possible scenarios for your life.

flashes of ‘mental movies’ or images pop up in your head, usually containing hidden symbols and meanings.

you literally see things before they happen!

you swear you see floating orbs, shadows that seem to be floating in the air, glittering or flashing lights, or movement out of the corner of your eyes.

appreciate things that are aesthetically pleasing and interesting to look at.

✨ how to strengthen clairvoyance ✨

a lot of people roll their eyes when I suggest meditation but, I don’t know how else to tell y’all, it’s really the best way to get stronger! meditation comes in many forms. It’s not always just sitting still and relaxing. taking a walk in nature is a form of meditation! painting is a form of meditation! listening to music and doing nothing is a form of meditation. anything that gets you out of your head and into a relaxed state is meditation!

visualization. practice visualizing anything and everything

play that memory game on your phone, where you have to look at the cards or objects and remember where they were located!

set the intention to receive messages through dreams.

✨ my fave crystals for clairvoyance! ✨

use them in your practice by holding them while meditating or keeping them in your space while doing readings.

amethyst

labradorite

fluorite (specifically lavender fluorite which is a bit hard to find)

spirit quartz

clear quartz

selenite

moonstone

optical calcite

Magic vs. Medicine?

image

People who believe in witchcraft know there are things in this world that science cannot explain. Many witches also believe in the healing power of nature. Because of this, there tends to be a lot of overlap between witchcraft and alternative healing.

Some alternative healing modalities, like herbal supplements, crystals, and essential oils, are incredibly popular with witches because they align so well with a magical worldview. And that can be a beautiful thing. If you find that taking CBD oil or diffusing lavender makes you feel good and gives you a sense of empowerment, then it absolutely has a place in your life.

The problem is that alternative healing (and, by extension, magic as a whole) is often framed as being in competition with conventional medicine. It’s presented as an “either/or” — either you believe in doctors and medicine, or you believe in energy healing and herbal supplements. This is not realistic, and it may even put people in danger.

The irony of this is that the first witches were also the first doctors. In Ancient Egypt, doctors would invoke the gods to imbue medicine with healing power, or curse a disease to make it leave a patient — these approaches were paired with actual medicine. In medieval Europe, witches and cunningfolk were the keepers of medical knowledge and would often serve as healers.

Even today, most pharmaceutical medications are made from naturally occurring ingredients. For example, antibiotics are synthesized from bacteria and fungi. These medications are not less natural than the medicine people used hundreds or thousands of years ago, but they are more refined thanks to modern technology. Rather than trading a natural remedy for an artificial one, you’re often just taking a more effective form of the same substance.

Personally, I like to use magic and alternative remedies to treat symptoms, but use medication to treat the underlying cause of the problem. If I have bronchitis, I might drink echinacea tea and diffuse eucalyptus essential oil, but I’m also going to take a full course of antibiotics to kill the infection.

Likewise, if I’m having a bad mental health day, I might take a bath with lavender or do some energy healing on myself, but I’m also probably going to call my therapist and continue taking my prescribed antidepressants.

Some witches have a lot of resistance to therapy, psychiatric care, and psychoactive medications. I’ve heard every possible argument, from “psychoactive meds lower your vibration/block your psychic abilities/dull your ability to feel energy!” to “if you tell a therapist you believe in magic, they’re going to think you’re crazy!” These arguments are completely false, plain and simple.

I’m a better witch when I’m in therapy and on my meds, because I’m a better person when I’m in therapy and on my meds. I’m better able to focus, set goals, and be aware of my body, which are all important skills in magic. I have no doubt that if I wasn’t doing what I need to do to keep myself stable, my mental health would suffer for it.

Good therapists know the importance of religion and spirituality, and they will respect your beliefs. No matter what your beliefs, a good faith-affirming therapist or counselor is always a good idea.

Your therapist is not going to think you’re crazy if you tell them you can astral travel, or talk about an experience with a pagan deity. What they will do is let you know if your experiences are outside the realm of healthy spirituality, and give you guidance on how to keep yourself safe if this is the case.

The truth is, whether we want to talk about it or not, not everyone who sees angels or talks to fairies is having a genuine spiritual experiences. As many as 63.3% of delusions in schizophrenia patients are religious in nature. If we are going to encourage people to seek out direct experiences of the spiritual, we also need to inform them on how to recognize when those experiences aren’t healthy or are not grounded in reality.

Psychosis refers to any experience that is not grounded in reality, including hallucinations (false sensory experiences) and delusions (false beliefs). Psychosis is not a mental disorder, but can be a symptom of many different disorders. It can also be an isolated incident in someone who may not usually experience breaks from reality.

Som if someone claims to have been visited by Isis, or Cernunnos, or the Virgin Mary, how do we know if they’re describing a genuine spiritual experience or a psychotic episode?

First of all, look at context. If someone claims to see angels or to be the reincarnation of a god immediately after taking drugs, after pulling an all-nighter, or while running a high fever (all potential causes of psychosis), they may be disconnected from reality and may need medical attention. On the other hand, if you know this person to be stable, sober, and well adjusted, they may very well be describing a genuine spiritual encounter.

Second, look at the actual experience. Is it consistent with the person’s existing beliefs? Is it consistent with experiences other people have had within the same belief system? Is this person clearly able to differentiate between this experience and the “real world,” or is the experience taking over their daily life? Answering these questions can help determine whether mental health intervention might be needed.

Finally, as a general rule, if you have an experience that scares you, makes you feel like you are in danger, or makes you feel compelled to hurt yourself or someone else, you should get a second opinion from a trained mental health professional.

As members of the witchcraft community, we have a responsibility to look out for other members of the community — and that includes being willing to say something if we believe someone genuinely needs medical help. Science and spirituality are not opposed, and they can coexist. Being a witch doesn’t mean rejecting science, and believing in science doesn’t mean rejecting magic. A healthy dose of skepticism goes a long way in keeping your magical practice safe, productive, and empowering.

✨Cleansing✨

Cleansing is the practice of cleaning the negative energy out of yourself, your posessions or surroundings.

✨Methods of cleansing✨

• Smoke. Pass the item you're cleansing through smoke, whether it be smoke from incense, a candle or a fire.

• Water. First make sure the item you're cleansing is water proof, or at least water resistant, there are a few crystals that are damaged by water, so beware! Sprinkle water on the object you're cleansing, especially if it's moon water or full moon water.

• Salt. Put the object your cleansing in salt, or put salt on the object. Salt will soak up all the negative energy in the item. Beware, there are some crystals damaged by salt.

• Sunlight and Moonlight. Put your item outside or near a window. Let the item bathe in the light for a few hours. Beware of bleaching! You can also sprikle salt in your doorway on the first friday of every month (or whenever) to protect and cleanse your home.

• Crystals. Use corresponding crystals to cleanse your object. Put them around/on your object. If you're cleansing your own energy, keep the crystals in your hands or carry them with you.

✨How to cleanse✨

• Pick the thing you want to cleanse (be it your home, your crystals, your witchcraft materials, your jewellery, etc)

• Pick a method of cleansing (use your intuition)

• Feel your energy and listen to your feelings when cleansing, try to stay calm. You can close your eyes and breathe deep.

• Try to transfer your positive energy into the object. Imagine your positivity flowing into it.

And you're done!

✨Cleansing crystals:✨

Crystals that have cleansing properties include:

• Selenite

• Clear Quartz

• Citrine

• Black Tourmaline

• Black Onyx

• Fluorite

• Selenite

• Apatite

I treated life like it was a report card, like I was being graded on every single moment of every single day. And if I got less than an A-, I pretty much felt completely worthless. I still struggle with that every day. But what I would say is that life is not a report card. You’re not being graded on this moment to moment. Go easy on yourselves, kids. Be kind to yourselves.
