There have been countless mini-essays about how Billy anti’s hate him because he’s an “inconvenient abuse victim,” and how because he doesn’t react perfectly to his abuser, that that somehow means he deserves to be hated/left behind/left to die.

And it seems that because of this newest interview with Caleb that even some Billy stans here and on twitter are now buying into that kind of thinking too. I can’t even begin to tell you how disappointed I am in those people.

You know all that racist/violent/abusive behavior is from his father, you know that if he’d lived past s3 he would have turned his life around. He’s a 17-18 year old kid in the 80′s, he’s not doomed to forever be a monster.

It’s literally been like: “Oh no! This imperfect character that I like for being imperfect has been acting imperfectly this whole time!” suprise pickachu face blah blah whatever

With the general consensus around James Potter being “ yeah he was an ass in school but he grew out of it and changed for the better”, I often wonder if that would still hold true if the entirety of Snape’s Worst Memory was shown in the movie. And I mean everything.

Not just Snape being verbally humiliated and emasculated in front of all his peers, but being (the equivalent of) tied up and gagged, and forcibly putting him in a position that exposes his underwear and threatened even further with exposing his private areas.

Reading the scene should be enough to leave a bad taste in anyone’s mouth but to see it play out visually, it would be harder to brush it off as “boyish behavior or horseplay” imo.

Is this someone questioning whether or not their brother should be saved or a teenage girl forced to watch her brother die because there is no way in stopping what's killing him?

The hypocrisy is amazing. Cause you know that if it were Ted Wheeler ogling, flirting, AND agreeing to sleep with Heather in S3, fans would be out for his blood (for good reason). But, because it was a woman preying on a teenage boy, the narrative pushes her predatory behavior under the rug and said woman apparently gets a bigger role for the next season.
