Honestly if Jaya hadn't been established since day one, I would see all the ninja strictly as siblings. Something about the Brother sharpens Brother thing, and the fact these 6 have basically grown up together and lived under the same roof for years.
Honestly, the only reason I'm comfortable with Lava or Bruise or Opposite or whatever is the fact Jaya exists. If not, instead of the RGB siblings I'd probably be the biggest RGBBBW siblings stan right now.
MK: Don't go to the kitchen!
Pigsy: Why?
MK: I saw a spider.
Pigsy: Well, did you kill it?
MK: It has eight arms and I only have two, it's not fair!
Pigsy: I know you snuck out last night, MK.
Mei: Play dumb!
MK: Who's MK?
Mei: NOT THAT DUMB!
Macaque to MK: First rule of battle, kid... Don't ever let them know where you are.
Sun Wukong, shooting out of frame: WOO-HOO! I'M RIGHT HERE! I'M RIGHT HERE! YOU WANT SOME O' ME?! YEAH YOU DO! COME ON! COME ON! AAAAAH! WOO-HOO!
Macaque: 'Course, there're other schools of thought.
Movie Verse RGB Siblings Canon?
Since in the movie Kai, Nya and Lloyd are in the same grade, I assume there are no major age gaps. So they must have a different dynamic compared to the show, but I like to think these three grew up together, and that's why Kai and Nya are so supportive of Lloyd. The way they both call him bro so casually is everything to me. I think they want to help him feel included and show him they aren't that different.
Also, if Ray and Maya are missing in this universe as well, I bet Nya would at least joke about how Koko should adopt them after finding out she's Lady Iron Dragon
Guan: This is such a bad idea.
Chase: Then why are you coming along?
Guan: One of us needs to be able to talk the guards out of arresting us when this inevitably goes wrong.
Sun Wukong: Here is my wall of inspirational people.
MK: Is that a mural of you?
Sun Wukong: Yes, I am big enough to admit that I am often inspired by myself.
Since I started getting asks about my Xiaolin Showdown fanfiction, I decided to post the link here in case anyone is curious about the context.
Here's the description and a little snippet from Chapter 2:
After traveling through time, Omi is more determined than ever to bring Chase Young back to the side of good. This makes Guan rethink certain things. Dojo tells the young monks the story of how Dashi, Chase, and Guan met when they were kids on their quest to control a hatchling Dojo, and how the first Shen Gong Wu was created.
"Oh, um, this is Dojo, my green water dragon. He’s my pet lizard." He fastened the last button on his shirt, only for Dojo to slip through his sleeve and climb back onto his shoulder.
"You can't fool me. I know a real dragon when I see one.”
Dashi blinked in surprise. "You… you do? How so?"
"He burned my tree."
Dashi looked down at his feet. "Ah, right.”
"I don't understand," said the kid, turning to the tea tree. "This shouldn't have happened, unless…" He whirled back to Dashi and there was a dark look on his face. "What did you do?"
"Wh-what?" Dashi couldn't understand how someone so small who made you want to pinch his cheeks, could make you feel even smaller. "Well, I put him in the furnace to make him hatch."
"You did WHAT?!" The kid dragged a hand across his face. "Do you have noodles for brains? You were supposed to put it in water! Dragons take the element they are presented with when they hatch. They are supposed to be benevolent water guardians!"
"How do you know all that?" Dashi asked suspiciously.
The kid bit his lip like someone realizing too late that he said something he shouldn't have said. He turned away from him and muttered, "I don't have to tell you."
