kujou sara does not cry.

she never does, not even when her body hurts from the countless injuries, not even when she overhears the harsh commentary of other generals, not when the almighty shogun scolds her for another failed mission against the resistance.

she does not cry. never.

but now, the shogun’s words ring in her mind — bring me their head or their vision. the choice is yours — and for the first time in her life, she can feel her facade cracking a little bit. she’s crumbling, piece by piece, just by looking at you.

you, oh you, with your dirtied palms and knees roughly hitting the ground in front of her. you, with a knife pressed against your throat by the one that swore that she would protect you. the one that said she would give your life for you in a heartbeat. your face is dirty and the hydro vision glisting at your neck makes her heart hurt. just yet another sign of how the two of you could never work.

“vision hunt decree,” her voice rings, loud and clear. if one would listen closely, they would hear how her voice wares for a second and a split moment of pain flashed through her face, “in the name of the almighty shogun, hand over your vision!”

“same as always,” you breath out. she feels a sting at that comment. she looks into your eyes, her face devoid of any emotions. all she can see is a gentle smile gracing your lips and your eyes soft and looking at her with understanding. she hates this, she hates you and most of all she hates herself.

you still have a chance, she wants to say. you can still come back to our side. you can still go back and stand by my side. i’ll convince her, we’ll tell you you came back to your senses. please.

“the resistance never betrays it’s own,” you whisper, as if knowing what she’s thinking about. “take my vision, sara. don’t make it hurt anymore than it has to.”

there is no place for love on the battlefield. especially not for the traitors.

why can’t you hate me? she wants to scream. why don’t you cry? why aren’t you picking up a fight? her hand shakes a little bit. it cuts your throat just slightly and she panics, her breath hitching.

“i’ll still love you. i don’t blame you,” you say gently. you’re still smiling, she notices. why are you still smiling? it was inevitable. war was full of sacrifices and burned promises.

kujou sara does not cry. but a single tear rolls of her cheek when she hands over your vision to the shogun.

good job, she purrs, satisfied.

“[Name]” Ganyu called out, as she approached you. Her hands intertwined with each other and in front of her legs as she walked to you. You cannot help but smile after hearing her gentle voice.

“Evening, Ganyu” you greet her with a wave as she now stands by your side. She cannot help but blush slightly.

“I’ve kinda been wanting to tell you something” she started off soothing and kind. You nod your head.

You weren’t sure what she was going to say. It did build some adrenaline, in you because you got nervous. What if she was upset or had horrible news to bring to you?

“Yeah, go ahead” you let out a nervous chuckle into your hand.

Ganyu let out a sigh as you watch her face bloom red. Her face becoming pink, while she plays with a strand of her short hair.

“I-I have been wanting to say. That I have gained romantic feelings… for you. [Name]” She finally said, each word leaving her voice slowly.

You turn to face her to see slight water at her eyes. Your heart started to pound extremely fast and you cannot help but get flustered as well. The both of you now a big shy mess.

“I’m sorry, this seems extremely… sudden.” Ganyu started as she lowered her head, but before she could turn and walk away. Without a thought in mind, you quickly press your lips onto hers. Quickly, as she finds herself blushing even more.

Her lips were soft, and warm.

So warm. Unlike her vision.
