Just a 30 y/o from Caimito with a book blog. A place to share my opinion on books I've read and movies I have watched.

I want to get back into reading so badly, but I'm just so tired.
reading a good interesting book after a horrible reading slump and suddenly you can feel the sun shining again and the sky is more beautiful than ever and birds are all singing songs to you
The reality is that reading and purchasing books are 2 separate hobbies. I just happen to be better at the latter than I'm suppose to be.
do you have a bad habit of buying books, fully intending to read them, and then not?
My son says hello. He is wishing you a lovely Friday. Make sure to have some food and water during the day.
I still do this on family road trips. Like, if the book is good I'm very happy to just eat the book on sight.
Not gonna lie, I really thought I'd be more active posting on here than I am. Like... the whole point was to write reviews of all the books I've been reading throughout the year so I can meet likeminded people and maybe get some good convos in.
Now I'm just lurking all over the site, peaking into multiple fandoms and reading fanfics that are usually (probably) not as good as people think they are.
This was not the plan...
If you get this, answer w/ three random facts about yourself and send it to the last seven blogs in your notifs. anon or not, doesn’t matter, let’s get to know the person behind the blog! (no pressure! ❤️)
You see... the problem is that I'm painfully boring. I never know what to answer in these things.
I was raised in a religious bubble (trying to avoid calling it a cult) and left in my early 20's.
I have over 20 cousins on my father's side of the family.
I am bilingual (English/ Spanish). As a child I would prefer speaking English with everyone at all times and it was basically my first language even though I have always lived in a Spanish speaking country.
Bonus: I am the eldest of 3 children (bio kids) but I technically have 6 siblings making me the middle child.
Not sure if this is a satisfactory response but I tried. Lol
Me trying to seduce you: Hey wanna see my book collection? 📚
So... I'm 30. OMG... What?!
Oh God, 30's be knocking at my door and I don't want to open it.
Literally spent it all on a local bookstore. Had my partner carry them for me and everything. It was great.
What was the first thing you bought with your first paycheck?
I spent all my first paycheck on a used 3DS.
Oh God, 30's be knocking at my door and I don't want to open it.
Date idea: your face buried in a book and my face buried in your thighs
it should be illegal for netflix to print their little "now a netflix series!" circles DIRECTLY on the cover of books that inspired shows they've cancelled
forever floored by folks who refuse to read anything not tradpub when it comes to queer books cause let me tell you there is so much in indie or smaller publishers being written that would blow your socks off AND theyre not beholden to censorship of tradpub as they try to "keep things nice for their image" (which is ironic considering the kinds of cishet romances that get put out)
here are some queer indie books that ive been reading that yall should check out
Starting my summer reading with these two.
Chainsaw Man gets a 6/10. I'm still trying to understand what exactly is happening. The art style is cool and the characters are likeable. I'll be reading more to see if I can figure out what's going on.
Jujutsu Kaisen gets a 7/10. Interesting storyline, cool characters and wonderful art. I'm curious as to what's going to happen next.
Very excited to read more manga. If anyone is interested I can definitely write a more in-depth review of these. Also, if you have any recommendations for manga I'm open.
