how is sherlock coming !! did you finish it i need to know
I'm still at the very beginning, I'm gonna finish the blind banker today so-
(also I don't have every episode available, but I should be good until season 3)
So far, it's pretty good, it's very interesting how many of the memes / gif sets I've seen on Pinterest are in every episode
I'm very excited to watch the Reichenbach Fall though, I've seen a thousand snippets of it but I wanna know how it actually went down
"CAPTAIN"
"Y-yeah?"
"LOOOOOOK"
"OH FUCK! NO NO NO NOOOOOO! NOOO0000OOOO-"

Quackity's new teaser for QSMP 2 (or something??) contained a long sequence of morse code which I... spent like 6 hours decrypting, and this is an explanation of how I did it (and you can, too, shall you wish to!)
I also posted a shorter analysis on my blog where I looked at all the different aspects of the video (the spoken words, the words flashing on the screen AND the morse code) in case you wanna learn more about the video in general.
The only program I used for this was audacity, which is free and which you can download quite easily.
First, I recorded the audio by playing the video in one tab and recording it via Audacity in another using a tutorial here. Before that, I tried to use VLC, but it has a bug that makes it so it will only record the video and not the audio. Still, useful if you only want the video!
After I had the audio of the whole video, I needed to extract the morse code since in some sequences, it would be literally impossible (at least for me, dunno about you superhuman) to understand the morse code due to all the background noise. To do this, I first looked at a sequence where there was ONLY the morse code and nothing else and analyzed the spectrum of this.
This 'spectrum' is essentially just a graph of how much sound of a certain frequency (measured in Hz) is in a certain snippet that I selected.
The top is the frequency of the morse code, so the plan is to keep this frequency (469 Hz) and throw everything else out.
In order to do this, I used the menus which you can find in audacity under 'effects -> Dominic Mazzoni,' reduced the volume of everything above 480 Hz by 48 Db (there is an option for how much you want to reduce it, but seeing as we don't need it at all we might as well reduce it as much as possible) and same for everything below 460.
After cutting it, I was left with a recording of (mostly) only the morse code.
Of course, I tried to do it the lazy way and punched the thing into a software which is supposed to be able to get morse code from recordings, CwGet. Did not work though, the thing is like REALLY old so I'd recommend searching another one. The only thing it DID grab correctly was 'is sacred im coming' but besides that it was just... bs.
SO, I had to do it myself.
(the best flowchart for morse code I was able to find)
Now, I won't bore you with all of the stuff where I wasn't sure about something and had to go over it over and over again, but one thing I do want to mention is that, in a very specific part, I did the filtering thing again, this time with 465 and 475 Hz though, and got an even cleaner result out of that. BUT, the more you do that the quieter the whole thing gets so I had to crank up the volume everywhere all the way. You hear it more clearly but it's quieter.
The following is, of course, not completely guaranteed to be true, but it sounds like the most logical one to me. There are still passages where I am completely unsure what they mean. It could be me not understanding it correctly, but the rest has been fairly easy so I don't know about that. It could also be encrypted or just complete bullshit. Either way, if you want to give it a try and see if you can make something of it, please feel free to give it a listen!

You’re sending me signs.
I hear you, can you hear me?
Everything turns blue
when I dive in.
The sting of chlorine
burns just a little—
so I let go.”
So I've been writing stories, playing TTRPG and doing basically anything which would require one to come up with a character. Problem is,
Of course, you can build a character's background, their job, their zodiac sign, but what I'm really missing is how to find out how these characters would actually behave, their mannerisms, the way they talk, all of that which makes a human unique and more than just a stat block on a piece of paper.
(It's why I'm writing fanfiction a lot, I know the characters and can sort of guess how they'd behave but it is beyond me how I should do that from scracth so to Tumblr I go pls send help, sincerely, a writer desperately wanting to write original stories 👍)
I'm a sucker for handwritten notes. Give me the option and I'll always write them by hand. I love scrawling words and using odd pens and filling the margins with afterthoughts and extra details. There's a certain magic to pen and paper that a tablet or laptop can just never match.
What the fuck
First of all how DARE they end a whole season on such a cliffhanger, that's so rude
second of all, why the fuck is Moriarty so goofy? Like... I don't even know. I like him, that much I know lmao. More than fuckin' Magnussen, he's more like the Umbridge of the Sherlock universe, Moriarty is so much better compared to that
(has he threatened and killed many many people? Yes, but at least he has manners)
Anything else... ummmmmmmmm... yea Sherlock go back to elementary and learn the solar system idiot
Pretty big spoilers for Whitepine 4 and the ARG under the cut
So while watching the new episode, my friend and me came up with a few theories/thoughts and since figuring stuff out is a community effort, I thought I'd share them.
As my amazing, perceptive friend Bee ( @mossybee-exe ) pointed out, in this shot, while Ivory is walking back from the cabinet where she's supposed to find the cot, there is a pair of legs on the staircase.
You know who has black pants? THE DETECTIVE, who we later see in the manor.
That in itself is already kind of a theory, but I think this subtle detail makes sense for both explanations we've come up with.
The detective has something against Ivory and literally stalks around the manor to interrogate her, which would mean in this shot, he's watching her go about her day
The detective isn't actually in the manor. Instead, he's a figment of Ivory's imagination, a reflection of how badly the interrogation impacted her. That would explain why she's the only one who ever sees him at the estate and no one else does. When she mentions him to Serapter, Serapter hasn't seen him, and we don't have confirmation that Prince Zam sees him after going to find him in this episode.
This would mean that him standing atop of the stairs is a reflection of her mind, a sign that the memories of the interrogation are always ready to pounce on her in the form of the detective (which happens later in the episode).
---
A different theory which is pretty much unattached from this one
While I'm not all that familiar with the ARG videos and the backgrounds, I've watched those which have been found with a playlist someone else made.
In those videos, Epony (the mirror image or counterpart of Ivory) leads Ivory to a room in a bedrock box and traps her there. Then, Ivory tries to break out, but the whole room is surrounded by bedrock.
What is interesting to me about this part of the ARG especially, is the voice Ivory hears, because to my friend Bee and to me, this voice seems like Lop's. This would mean that this whole sequence of videos took place at the end of Whitepine 4, meaning we know at what time they happened.
---
It's possible these theories aren't actually what took place, but I thought sharing them might help the overall community 🤍
