9/11 was a tragic event that caused the birth of mcr. Gerard Way is the lead singer, and he watched the towers fall. He hurried back home, and started to shake his brother Mikey, and said "we need to make a band! Also they hit the pentagon!!" Note, it was the day after Mikey's 21'st birthday and he was hungover, and Mikey had never picked up a bass in his life. Fast-forward a few weeks and they got signed a record label, and the first album made was "I Brought You My Bullets, You Brought Me Your Love".
