Dive into a world of creativity!
You’re staring at the page. The cursor blinks like it’s taunting you. You want to write—hell, you even know what you want to write about—but it’s like your brain’s frozen. That, my friend, is the all-too-familiar little bitch known as writer’s block.
So, how do you fight it?
Here’s what’s helped me, and maybe it'll help you too.
Seriously. Open a doc and let yourself write the worst possible version of what you’re trying to say. No pressure. No editing. You can always clean it up later. A messy first draft is better than no draft.
Sometimes your brain just needs a different view. Go outside. Sit at a café. Write on your phone instead of your laptop. A small change can trick your brain into feeling inspired again.
Forget structure. Forget plot. Just go full chaos mode. Rant about your characters, the scene, or how much writing sucks today. That little brain dump might lead you to a breakthrough.
A poem. A Tumblr post. A flash fiction piece. Sometimes reading a spark of good writing reminds your brain how fun words can be.
Writer’s block is normal. It doesn’t mean you’re broken. It just means your brain’s buffering. Rest, hydrate, and be gentle with yourself. Then try again.
---
Writing is weird. Some days it flows like magic, and other days it’s like dragging your soul through the trenches. But if you’re stuck, don't give up on it— the words will come back.
Writer’s block sucks! It sucks even more when you have just one chapter left of your story and it just won’t flow like it had been. For those waiting for the last chapter of The Impossible, I am so sorry I don’t have it finished. I have been hit with a bad case of writer’s block and just need to step away from it. I hope to have it finished some time this week.

Okay so it’s more than seven again. But sometimes it just needs to be.
Taking the citrusy fruit, he gives her a small smile. “Thanks, Fah. For everything. For fixing me up. For taking care of me. For coming with me.”
“Someone need to keep you in line. Make you stop and take care of yourself. You die out here without help.” She speaks bluntly and it’s something TK finds refreshing.
It isn’t long after the sun sets that TK drifts off to sleep. They discussed and agreed to take shifts so they could keep an eye on each other. Fah insists on TK sleeping first. He doesn’t fight her on it as his eyes are drooping without his consent.
After a few hours of sleep, Fah shakes TK to a state of awareness and he bolts up right, wincing as he grabs at his ribs.
“Enough for you. I sleep now.” She speaks and lays down getting comfortable and using his leg as a pillow.

“Tyler,” Carlos whispered against the shell of his ear. “Tyler,” another whisper followed by a sweet peck just behind his ear. “Wake up, my love.” TK groaned and wiggled his body as he snuggled closer to Carlos. “Errrrmm, no.” He responded with a grumpy tone. Carlos laughed lightly and let his hand roam down TK’s side to his hip, where he caressed the soft flesh of his hip bone with his thumb. “C’mon baby. We have work to do.” “No, I do not! I’m off today!” TK claimed proudly and pulled his pillow around his head, covering his ears. “We have boxes to pack up before the crew arrives to help move.” That got TK’s attention, and he released the pillow, his eyes looking at his boyfriend. “We’re moving in today.” He smiled widely as his eyes connected with Carlos’s. “Yeah.” Carlos mirrored TK’s smile before leaning down and capturing his lips with his own. “I can’t wait to wake up with you every morning.” He spoke as his lips began to trail down TK’s neck, leaving hot little kisses wherever they touched. “Fall asleep with you every night.” His lips journeyed over to his throat. “Knowing you don’t have to leave to go home.” Back to his lips, where he kissed him passionately. “Because you already are.” TK reciprocated the kiss, giving just as much passion and adding some heat to it, wanting more than just his lips. But Carlos pulled away. “Mmm, baby, don’t start anything we don’t have time to finish.” He chuckled. “Everyone is going to be here in two hours. We have to get the rest packed before they show up.” TK groaned and rubbed himself up against Carlos anyway. “But you made me want more. It’s your fault.” Carlos laughed and placed a hand on the side of TK’s face. “I promise you will have more later. When we are in our new home!”
So happy and in love! But what happens when the unexpected happens and tears them apart?
New story in the works!
A Work In Progress
Hi All! I am new to the fanfic world. Well, I say that because it's been over 15 years since I last wrote any kind of fanfic. But here I am attempting it. This will be my first Tarlos story posted to ao3, but it's not up yet. I thought I'd join in on the wip fun and see how well this snippet is received. I am happy to take any and all advice. Please, if you have any criticisms, be kind and make it constructive. I hope you all enjoy it! I've been having a blast writing it!

After dinner, TK went straight to his room when they got back to his dad’s house. He didn’t stop to talk and they had been silent on the drive home for the most part. There was a little conversation about how the night had gone, but mostly, it was a quiet ride. Back at the house, TK made a beeline for his room. He should’ve gone home to his place, but it was late and he needed some quick relief. So he stayed at his dad’s place. In his room, he was quick to find himself in the shower and releasing the tension that had built up through the evening.
After his shower, he collapsed on his bed, not even bothering to get dressed. He wanted Carlos out of his head. At least for the rest of the night. He just wanted some peaceful sleep. Unfortunately, the man crept into his dreams and he woke up needing another release.
The morning seemed to move quickly and before he knew it, they were at the firehouse. It was a pretty normal morning so far. Coffee, b.s.ing with his brothers, and just chilling until a call came in.
Hearing his name, TK left the conversation he was in, turning his attention to his dad. But when he looked, his eyes instantly found Carlos and that dry throat thing was a problem once again. He swallowed hard as the man got closer. Fuck, how am I supposed to do my job with him here? He looked so good in the tight hunter-green tee shirt he was wearing. That color really seemed to work for him.
They greeted each other and Carlos was offering up that gorgeous heart-shaped smile of his and it seemed to cause a flipping in TK’s stomach. With his eyes fixated on Carlos, it was his dad’s suggestion that pulled him out of his trance. “Uh, yeah. Sure. Come on, I’ll um, I’ll show you… the kitchen!” He pointed in that direction and led the way.
_____
“I believe my dad mentioned you’d be riding along with us as well. What size shirt do you wear?” He asked as he moved to grab a firehouse shirt for Carlos. “Here. You’ll need to wear that and uh, pants. There should be some here in the wardrobe.” He opened the wardrobe and pointed out the pants for Carlos to choose from.
“Cool, thanks.” Carlos took a look and found his size. “Um, I’ll just go change then.” He said and gave a nod,
When Carlos left the room to go change, TK fell to the mattress of his bunk, hands covering his face. He had no idea how he was going to make it through the day with Carlos around. Was he staying for the whole shift? He had no clue. He hoped not since there was nothing he could do about his urges.
“What do ya think?” Carlos asked as he came back dressed in the same uniform. “Is it too snug?” He asked with a smirk.
Sitting up on his elbows TK looked at him and he seemed to forget how to breathe. Fuck, he looked sexy as hell. Then Carlos did a spin to show the whole outfit. That and the question did not help. Yes. Yes, it is too snug. “Mm, yeah. Looks good.” He said and pressed his lips tight together as he gave a nod.
Then he heard the bells and he breathed a sigh of relief. Thank you. He thought to himself. He’d never been so happy to hear the bells go off. “That’s our cue.”
TK was up and dashing to the truck, Carlos hot on his heels.
