Kyiv-based artist Alexey Kondakov uses surrealistic documentary photography to superimpose figures from classical artwork into everyday scenes of modern life. He is renowned for his Photoshopped collage series in which Kyiv, Ukraine served as the backdrop for characters from old world masterpieces. The artist merges the past and the present, showing with a deft eye how classical figures fit seamlessly into contemporary situations that, in themselves, are timeless.
The three firebrands (and guests)- Incorrect Quotes Part 23
Stellan: I love you guys, you're the best thing that's happened to me.
Elzar: We're the best thing that's ever happened to you?
Stellan: Yes!
Avar: I'm starting to feel a little sorry for you.
Avar: Self care is actually getting into fights with randoms in dark alleys.
Stellan: No, self care is stuff like taking a bubble bath, or reading if you like it, or taking a nice warm nap!
Elzar: Self care is taking your birthday cake just so I can eat the frosting.
Avar: If you touch my birthday cake I’ll make you eat your hands.
Avar: *accidently hits her head*
Stellan, rushing over: I got an ice pack from the freezer.
Elzar, next to him: I helped, are you alright
Avar: Why do you have chocolate on your face?
Elzar: The Ice Pack was under a pie.
Avar: So you ate your way to it?
Elzar: I made a judgment call, Stellan was a coward. You weren’t there.

So WTNV succeeded in getting me into Alice Isn’t Dead. It’s already made me gasp out loud so many times; Night Vale is cute and quirky and funny and loveable, but Alice isn’t Dead is just so much more genuinely eerie and spooky. This episode was more on the poignant and pensive end of the spectrum, and this comic really captures it expertly. I also like that the artist didn’t skip over the bit with the pizza-making, too. It was just such a warm and lovely flashback, but also part of an important meditation on what makes life meaningful which really throws into relief the tragedy of Jackie.
Parts: 1 / 2 Factory by the Sea, episode 4 season 1 Alice isn’t Dead by Nightvale Presents!
I really REALLY love this podcast and I want everyone to check it out HERE. DO NOT DELETE THESE COMMENTS PLEASE!

*His head felt like it had been hit by a truck, and there was both a weird fog and a jolting fear in his chest, but a groan escaped him and solidified it. He was awake... Mostly. What had he been dreaming about..? There was a magic show and there was rain... And alot of eyes....*
*Not important. What was probably important was how much his head and side hurt, he get hit by a bus?*
*He hear, something, like a small gasp, and he manages to turn his head a little. He squints, Jim- suddenly he's surrounded by a gentle but intense hug, if that made any sense. His arms feel like lead still, and even with it being gentle the hug still hurts- but it's home and he leans in.*
*It's CJ, it's Jim, it's ok.*
