Brief self-promo time. I'm so excited to be going to C2E2 as a panelist in a week and a half (fuck how'd it get that close).

I think the thing that I've taken away from this panel is that it's okay if you don't like your work because there are people who will love it.
And I didn't take that away because there was any implication that Hugh or Mads disliked the work they did on Hannibal but because they so obviously loved it but even they couldn't remember all the details of the things they loved. Hugh wouldn't stop talking about S1EP2 Amuse-Bouche but he could not for the life of him remember Eldon Stammets' name, and Mads and Hugh had to be reminded of Donald Sutcliffe's name.
And those details of the panel stood out to me because it's like wow I may forget about something I've written or recorded or drawn, but someone somewhere out there, even if it's just one person, probably loved what I made even more than I did and they might've committed parts of my work to memory that I've completely forgotten about or thought were insignificant.
I guess the panel just reminded me how thankful I am for fandom spaces and the fannibal community and just generally people who are kind and uplifting and share what they love with each other.

If you've seen my new Ko-Fi goal, Critical Role is coming back to C2E2 in 2025, kicking it off with a live show on April 10th. I figure this is motivation to finally work on my Beauregard Lionett cosplay. I already have the patterns printed and cut out but I still need fabric and some accessories. Working on cosplay, however, also means taking precious time out of working on the shop so while I will be setting aside money on my end to help pay for my trip, if folks would like to help out, I would greatly appreciate it! I even have a cute savings tracker for us to watch the progress!
No new WIP pics this week because I apparently can't read a calendar!
However! We are officially 130 days from C2E2 and yours truly is attending! Not as a vendor, sadly, but I'd like to make my own cosplay for the occasion. To do so, though, means time away from my crafting, so we're going to play a fun game to track progress towards the cosplay AND the con (which is why it's so high). As funds are raised/set aside, we'll color in the corresponding item until either the goal is reached or it's con time. This will be an ongoing goal until April 9th! Let's go!
We didn’t get a S4 announcement, but you know what the absolute best thing about today’s C2E2 Hannibal panel truly was?
For almost the first time since the show ended, Fannibals showed how profitable Hannibal can still be.
C2E2 sold out of their remaining VIP ticket packages with guaranteed panel seating within 48 hours of the reunion announcement. Paid PopVerse subscriptions to stream the panel spiked with previously untapped demos (if socials are anything to go by). The largest event hall at C2E2 was overcapacity 45 minutes before the panel; while that’s normal for cons like SDCC and NYCC, in my experience that’s less common at C2E2.
Not to mention Mads and Hugh making bank with autograph and photo-op sales; a huge component of drawing in good talent to table at cons as well, making sure they make enough over the weekend to justify their presence beyond panel appearances. From a talent booking/event management perspective, this is the absolute dream scenario.
So, here’s the super fun part: ReedPop, the company that owns C2E2, also owns/operates New York Comic Con (NYCC), one of the highest-profile US entertainment conventions after San Diego Comic-Con. Now that ReedPop is aware of the viability of Hannibal programming, it would be extremely surprising if RP didn’t attempt a run at a larger, proper reunion panel at NYCC.
Honestly, great job, team. 2024 could very well be the year we get real buzz going again!

I have red hair and black glasses. I'm 39 but my age can be kind of hard to estimate. Today, I have a black T that says EAT THE RUDE in gold lettering and jorts and rainbow sandals. I have bloody knife earrings and a memory palace necklace. I will have a rainbow mask. My partner has a lime green and purple button up with eels on it. He will also be wearing a PAPR to filter the air because he's immunocompromised due to cancer, and he looks kind of like an astronaut in it.
I am AuDHD so reaching out for social reasons is way out of my comfort zone, but I'm long for Fannibal Friends. 🖤 I also absolutely understand if socializing is out of your comfort zone, so never any hard feelings. We can just communicate with an awkward smile and knowing head nod. Perhaps a whispered "bonsoir."
The most important thing is we all enjoy this once in a lifetime opportunity with each other. 🤗🔪🎣

I've never tried this through Tumblr but figured it was worth a shot. My mini workshop is almost ready to see some action so I'm taking orders!
