Apparently, Camelot of Staten Island Inc. is a branch of a counseling service for people whose lives have been impacted by addictions, either their own or their loved ones’. I would say that some of the people of Arthurian Camelot could have used the services of their Staten Island counterparts were it not that the reviews are very few and several are terrible. I have no more intention of finding out whether Google’s exclusively one-star reviews are accurate than I have an understanding of why someone chose to name a street Arthur Kill Road.

Yk the color of the Camelot seal are red and gold.
Merlin is always trying to save Arthur using his magic which is gold. Arthur always ends up hurt anyways because he’s an idiot but he bleeds which is red.
So yes two sides of one coin and what not. So when Arthur does Albion or whatever it’s called can’t come to its golden age because the red (Arthur) is gone. Leaving only one part of the great Albion which is the gold (Merlin).
I know people talk about this all the time but the fact that Merlin’s magic has the natural instinct to protect Arthur is just AHHHH. Call it fate or destiny but I call it love.
Season 1 episode 1 of Merlin is just sad.
The scene after Merlin and Arthur fight(flirt) and they go back to the room Gaius is yelling at Merlin for using his magic in public and Merlin is yelling back that he’s nothing without his magic and then a little later he asks Gaius if his magic made him a monster.
And that just really hit me hard because Merlin for all 5 seasons thought that he might be the monster because he’s seen magic be evil so whose to say his isn’t. And ontop of that he’s living in Camelot so he constantly is see magic user killed and the overall idea of magic as something that needs to remain hidden.
Again and again Merlin saves Arthur using magic and then listen to Arthur thank him for showing him how terrible magic is.
And I love this because for a lot of people this supports the queer allegory as well. Hating something you can’t change because you were born with it.
Idk I’m just rewatching it and that hit.
I loved the soundtrack in the Camelot moment. Also those shots are really well drawn.....
…… was his first and original sword, after Arthur broke Caliburn, he then gave it to Merlín who brought it to the lady of the lake. She then gave Excalibur to Arthur, who went on to many adventures and quests to be a good king of Camelot.
Dating Merlin Would Include:
- Meeting because you also work as a servant in the castle. - You two commiserate over how arrogant and rude some nobles can be. - This is usually followed by silently glaring at Arthur and Uther. - You work out he has magic fairly early on in your friendship by noticing the various miraculous things centered around defending Arthur that seem to occur in his presence. - While you two were on a break from your duties, you also sort of noticed his spell book. - He later confesses that he has magic and is shocked when he learns that you've known for awhile. - You two prank everyone together and you both encourage the other's mischievous behavior. - You frequently comment on how clueless Arthur is. - Him admitting his loneliness and displeasure over keeping his magic a secret and how different it makes him. - After this, you make an effort to understand him even better. - You try to verbally compliment and appreciate Merlin as much as possible. - All of the knights and the court as a whole take bets on how long it'll take for you two to get together. - You two first admit your feelings for one another because Gwaine started to flirt with you in front of Merlin in order to get a rise out of him. - This leads to him confessing his feelings and you two start the courting process. - Whenever you're upset, he'll try to conjure up your favorite foods. - This always ends in either laughter when he fails, or smiles and kisses when he succeeds. - He gives really spectacular advice. - He is seriously the sweetest guy to you. - You two go on romantic picnics, he brings you random small gifts, and he remembers important dates. - You meet Kilgharrah and actually like the old dragon and are understanding of his thought process. - You're both super supportive of each other. - You frequently joke that he is actually dating Arthur and that you're just a cover. - This always results in him face-palming and blushing before you reassure him that you're only kidding. - Gwen insists on you two properly attending at least a few balls instead of simply serving the guests. - You two are just the cutest couple. - You and Merlin don't really argue at all. - Although you do chastise him whenever he does something too terribly risky. - He is a mite overprotective. - For PDA, he keeps it to hand-holding, cheek kisses, and wrapping an arm around you. - You two are just made for each other. - Arthur rolls his eyes whenever you two do something cutesy. Poor Arthur
Loving Guinevere, having Lancelot as your closest friend
Realizing after Lancelot is getting knighted that both of them are in love and having an affair, feeling betrayed, but choosing his empathy, love for them.
Thinking about "what do the simple folk do" as a kind of last resort to win back Guinevere, but it ends with her not reciprocating and breaking down. They love each other, are friends, but there is no more romantic love.
Arthurs subjects bringing up the affair even though they risk being banished speaks to me about the love the subjects have for Arthur as king, but also Arthurs biggest weakness, his love for Guinevere and Lancelot. He ignores the calls of his subjects and banishes them in an attempt to cover his friends secrets, ultimately resulting in the downfall of the round table.
Everything is entertwined and comes together to form a big wave, dragging Arthur into a current he cannot control 💔
