Riff Rebel and Starface

Riff Rebel And Starface

so all my pals know that i’ve made a little album titled “Riff Rebel” for a game jam. the Ost Composer Jam #7, hosted by Lone Rabbit, to be exact. This was my first ever album and even though i didn’t win the jam by a long shot, but people liked it and found it very creative. that is just enough for me, and i really did like this project. in fact, i am working to make a remastered album with some new songs mixed in. who knows what i’ll do next time, on Lone Rabbit’s next Composer Jam?

Hello, Tumblr! First ever post on here. To commemorate this occasion, here’s my recreation of Mother Earth from the cult-classic RPG, Mother (or most commonly known to international audiences, EarthBound). This was supposed to be released on New Year’s Day, but it got delayed due to me being the lazy bum that I am. This isn’t really a cover so to speak since this is based on VinylCheese’s FDS cover of Mother Earth, all I did was copied it but excluded the FDS part of the cover. I know, it’s not really creative; copying someone else’s cover of a song and calling it your own by changing a thing or two about it, but cut me some slack, okay? I’m relatively an amateur when it comes to Famitracker and I’m honestly satisfied with it sounds. This will be the ONLY cover like this; all my future music covers (yes, future music covers, this is only the start) will be composed by me.

Anyways, I’ll end this post here. I have a lot more covers in the works and I’m hoping to getting them done soon. Hope you stick with me on my beginning!

My New Album, NICOBICO DELUXE, Streaming Everywhere Now!

My new album, NICOBICO DELUXE, streaming everywhere now!

It's both a re-release of 2009 originals from

NICOBICO as well as a release of songs you've never heard before.

P.S.

Nice to be back on Tumblr again. I was getting a little tired of other social media. I remember really loving Tumblr in the post-MySpace era. I ended up disengaging w/ my personal Tumblr be it essentially became just a repo for my Instagram. I once ran a mildly popular Tumblr page, PEOPLE OF IHOP, but I believe it got banned sadly. I'm optimistic in the direction I'm going now in life; listening and responding to what serves me and how I can serve others with energy; and feeling confident that with what l've made -people should know about.

Hentai. feat. @markpheonix Recorded by @ford4d.

Produced by Me. Cover art by Me.

A song I made with @MarkPheonix a long time ago that wasn't released because I'm still waiting on a 3rd verse from somebody lol.

Def a song about sex, but lowkey about body positivity too.

Mark Pheonix - Paragon Renegade

Just wanted to share that my homie @markpheonix hath dropped a chiptune/nerdcore project to hold people off till his "The E Before The O" project, and this is my favorite song on it. I just honestly feel it's the realest thing he's ever written. Also don't believe the "feat. Lucid00" I don't really feature in the song (it's all a lie, all of it!). Check out Pheonix Down here.

"The E Before The O" coming soon...

Jun Ishikawa – Staff Roll (Milky Way Wishes)

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 30: Credits music From Kirby Super Star (SNES, 1996)

Our journey around the gaming universe has come back home. I had fun with this one-game-per-system restriction, and I hope some of you liked my picks. Maybe I’ve inspired someone else to try it? Please use “Super Hard Mode” in your titles if you take my challenge. I’ll be watching…

Stéphane Picq – Fractalian Space

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 28: Music that makes you nostalgic From MegaRace (DOS, 1993)

My first CD-ROM game. It came with our Windows 3.11 computer. MegaRace isn’t very good, but it gave us Lance Boyle and some early 90s CG videos that we get to drive on.

Rob Hubbard – Monty on the Run

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 26: Music you like from a game you haven’t played From Monty on the Run (C64, 1985)

I grew up in an Apple II house, so I’ve barely touched the Commodore 64. I’ve played Space Taxi a couple times, but that’s it. Is THEC64 worth picking up?

Junko Shiratsu and Mariko Nanba – Door Into Summer

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 23: Underrated music From Knuckles’ Chaotix (32X, 1995)

Chaotix nicely uses the extra sound channels that went unused in most 32X games. I think I ought to give Chaotix a chance.

Masashi Kageyama – Happy Birthday

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 21: Music you associate with frustration From Gimmick! (Famicom + 5B , 1992)

To a special someone: May you navigate life’s brutal platforming challenges with more finesse than I have.

Retro Game Audio did an episode on Gimmick and its Sunsoft 5B chip. They're good!

Hitoshi Sakimoto – Waltz of Meditation Part 2

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 17: Music you never get tired of From Magical Chase (TurboGrafx-16, 1991)

Hitoshi Sakimoto and Masaharu Iwata bring huge symphonic sound everywhere they go. The Holy Grail of TurboGrafx-16 collecting hasn’t been re-released anywhere for 20 years.

Savaged Regime – Boss 2

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 16: 16-Bit music From Xeno Crisis (Genesis/Mega Drive, 2019)

Holy crap! Is this Prodigy-sounding jam coming from 16-bit hardware?? This narrowly beat Vapor Trail for my Genesis/Mega Drive pick.

Manabu Namiki – Stab and Stomp!

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 15: Boss battle music From Battle Garegga (Saturn, 1998)

If the boss kills you, just say you took the death on purpose to manage your rank.

If this version is too “arcade” to count as Saturn music, use Christmas NiGHTS’s boss music instead.

Sizlla Okamura – Un Caillou Ricochet

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 13: Music you like from a game you don’t like From Viewpoint (Neo Geo, 1992)

Viewpoint was a strange experiment. The sampled drum loops were ahead of their time, but isometric perspective never worked for shmups.

Kazumi Totaka and Minako Hamano – Song of Awakening

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 12: Music that makes you sad From The Legend of Zelda: Link’s Awakening (GB, 1993)

The moment lasts just long enough to tear your heart out.

Yoshino Aoki – Battle Field

30-Day Video Game Music Challenge (Super Hard Mode) Day 10: RPG battle music From Mega Man Battle Network 6 (GBA, 2005)

I’m actually playing Battle Network 1 right now. I passed up Battle Network when it was new because it wasn’t the new Mega Man platformer I wanted. Today, its unique battle system really stands out.
