Dive into a world of creativity!
Kinda random sketch, anatomy study in a way. Ended up being Tonowari, so why not?
Decided to try a new style for this one piece featuring bare Ralak riding a skimwing on observation duty đđ»đŠ I certainly had fun đâš
Do you know the "fav movie x fav something else you're on too" drawings? Welp, I tried a weird "crossover" this time, fav SCI-FI movie x fav character! Maybe it can be part of an AU, idk, I'm not gonna elaborate too much bc Ik y'all are already thining this is bizarre enough >_<

Time flies
Part one- Eywas mystery
The years following when the sullyâs took you in up until the time when you had to leave to go to the Metkayina clan
~ age- 8 ~
Neytiri was teaching you how weave along with Kiri. It had been two years since Jake and Neytiri had found you. You had started calling the two your mom and dad with ease
âMama can you help me pleaseâ you called out to Neytiri, your hands were stuck in the rope you were trying to weave into a net. Neytiri took one look at you and chuckled slightly
âcome here little oneâ you kinda waddled her way trying not to trip on the longer pieces that were hitting your legs. Neytiri carefully unwrapped your hands and showed you the weave process again. This time she helped you more so you didnât get your hands stuck again. Soon you had a simple, but effective net which you proudly showed Kiri
âLook I finished mineâ your voice said happily showing your sister the next
âI finished mine too, I made a basketâ Kiri said as she smiled
âWe should use it to collect flowers Kiri!â She nodded so the two of you kissed your mom on the cheek and ran off into the flower field near by
~ age-12~
Neteyam , Loâak, Kiri and you were standing at the edge of the Hallelujah mountain
âItâs time to for you four to tame an Ikranâ Jake said smiling
âDad what if we fallâ you say looking down and gulping. Jake pats your back softly âthen Iâll swoop down and catch you, now go on you fourâ
Kiri is the first one to bond with an Ikran. She didnât do it in the normal way though, she kind of befriended it?
Next was Neteyam, he tamed one quickly and efficiently. Within a few minutes he was flying around on his Ikran with ease
Loâak got thrown around a lot by the Ikran, he almost fell off when the Ikran flew down the mountain but he was able to connect his queue at the last minute
Finally it was your turn, the Ikran you had decided to try to tame was blue with streaks of purple. When you tried to get close she snapped at you ready to bite if you got too close, you had to admit that you were intimidated by the flying creature.
âWell here goes nothingâ you said jumping on the ikrans back as she turned around.
The Ikran screeched and tried to throw you off as it flew into the air. Your hands struggled trying to grab your queue while still holding on to the creature. From the ground Jake was on his Ikran ready to grab you incase anyone happened and you fell off.
Finally you grabbed your queue and connected it with the ikrans. After a few minutes the blue and purple Ikran stopped thrashing and began to fly normally. You fly down to where your dad and your siblings were.
âYou did great Y/N, but donât scare me like that againâ Neteyam said concerned about the fact that you couldâve plummeted to your death
âDonât worry brother dad would never have let that happen plus Y/N way too good for thatâ Loâak said high fiving you
âYeah she did much better then you two idiotsâ Kiri said as she wrapped her arm around your shoulder
Jake congratulated the four of you for doing so well. The five of you flew back to Neytiri and Tuk to share the accomplishments
~age-14~
The RDA was back on pandora and Quatrich, your dads old enemy, was back as an avatar. Right now because of your brother Loâaks stupid need to see an old battle field him, Kiri, Tuk, Spider, and you were all being held hostage by Quatrich and his goons.
âShow me your hands girlâ Quatrich said in very broken Naâvi, his goons had a gun to almost everyoneâs head except Tuk who had a knife to her throat
You flipped Quatrich off as a way to show your five finger which made him roll his eyes. He had taken Loâak communication device a hours ago and had given your father instructions for giving himself up in exchange for you and your sibling. Suddenly you could hear your mothers signal, to anybody else it would just be interpreted as another sound of the pandorean jungle but to the sully kids it meant that their mother was near and ready to rescue them. Finally an opportunity to strike arises and Neytiri shots the guy holding Kiri with an arrow. Neytiri, Jake and Neteyam all spring into action. You, Tuk and Loâak bite the hands of your captors managing to distract them enough so that you could get away. Shots rang in the air and one of the avatars had Kiri but not for long as neytiri fired another arrow that landed straight into his chest. Neteyam almost gets shot while trying to rescue you guys but in the end all of the sullyâs come out with minor injuries
âWhereâs Spider?â Kiriâs voice trembled. At that moment everyone realizes that the human boy had been taken
âIâm so sorry kids, but I donât think we can rescue himâ Jake says, it hurt to see his childrenâs reaction more than losing Spider
That night you could hear your parents argue about what happened and how your dad just wanted to keep your family safe and the safety of the clan⊠which meant having to move, the RDA only cared about him and his family so if your family disappeared then both the family and the clan would be safe. You ran out of the hut, much to your parentâs surprise because they thought you and your siblings were asleep.
You sat outside of your home upset by your fathers words. You could feel someone sit down next to you
âIâm so sorry baby girlâ Jake said wrapping his arm around you, you sob leaning in to your fathers embrace
âI donât wanna leave dad, this is our home itâs not fairâ your voice trembles
âI know baby, buts itâs for safetyâ Jake says looking black to see the rest of your family outside.
âYou know what your father says, right kidsâ your mom says with a solemn expression
âSullyâs stick togetherâ the sully kids say unenthusiastically
âCome on with attitude, I know you guys donât want to leave but it needs to happenâ Jake says hugging Tuk who was about to cry
The next day your father gave up his title of Oloâeyktan to Tarsem who sadly accepted. The entire clan was sad to see your family leave but they understood why you all had to leave
Everyone got on their Ikran, Tuk going with your mom, it took a few days to get to the Metkayina clan. When the sullyâs landed they were surrounded by Metkayina, your father telling all of you to behave as some of the younger boys giving the family wary glares
âLook what is that? Is it supposed to be a tailâ one of the metkayina boys says talking about Neteyam making some other metkayina laugh
You see Loâak entranced by a a girl walking out of the water and you just roll your eyes
âItâs too small how are they supposed to swimâ the same boys say referring to your tail
âDo not Aoânung Rotxoâ the girl says, Loâak says hi to her and she smiles and looks away shyly
soon their Oloâeyktan (tonowari) came out of the water walking through the crowd to your family
âI see you Tonowariâ your father says bowing slightly the rest of the family following his example
âJake sullyâ Toniwari says as he acknowledges your family
Soon the tsahik came through the crowd her expression cold
âI see you, Ronal Tsahik of the metkayinaâ your father voice rang
âI see you Ronalâ says Neytiri
âWhy do you come to us Jake Sullyâ says Tonowari curious as to why forest people would come to their home near the ocean
âWe seek uturuâŠâ Jake says making the Metkayina gasp
âUturu?â Ronal says surprised by your father statement
ââŠa sanctuary for my familyâ your father continues. Ronal walks forward after exchanging looks with her mate
âWe are reef people. You are forest people. Your skills mean nothing hereâ the Oloâeyktan said as Ronal continues to circle your family
âSo we will learn your ways, rightâ Jake said the last part directed towards his family
Ronal grabs your mothers tail and then Tuks arms
âTheir arms are thinâŠâ Ronal says walking and grabbing Kiris tail ââŠtheir tails are weak. You will be slow in the waterâ. Then she grabs hands hands raising them in the air
âThese children are not even true Naâviâ she states as the Metkayina gasp
âYes we areâ you say upset. But she doesnât care and just goes to grab Loâaks hand and raises it to show his five fingers
âThey have demon blood!â The tsahik claim immediately making the rest of the Metkayina more hostile towards your family. God how your blood was boiling at this point. You hadnât done anything to this woman and she already didnât like you and your family
âLook! Lookâ your father shows his hands âI was born to the sky people and now Iâm Naâvi. You can adaptâ he says turning back to Tonowari
âWe can adaptâ Jake says almost desperately
âMy husband was Toruk Makto. He lead the clans to victory against the sky peopleâ says Neytiri in an harsh tone as she looks at Tonowari.
âThis you call victory? Hiding among strangersâŠâ your mother looks down ââŠit seems Eywa has turned her back on you chosenâ your mom hisses and Ronal retribution with a hiss of her own, you could see that the two were ready to fight at any second.
Jake cuts in between the two women apologizing for your mothers behavior claiming that the journey has made her tired and easily irritable and Tonowari changes the subject
âToruk Makto is a a Great War leader. All Naâvi people know his story. But we Metkayina are not at warâŠâ he turns to your father â⊠we cannot let you bring your war hereâ Toniwari says
âLook Iâm done with war, okay? I just wanna keep my family safeâ your father says holding Tuk
âUturu has been askedâ your mother says harshly
The Oloâeyktan and the Tsahik exchange looks before Ronal nods slightly
âToruk Makto and his family will stay with us. Treat them as our brothers and sisters. But they do not know the sea. So, they will be like babies taking their first breath. Teach them our ways so they do not know the shame of being uselessâ you could see your fathers relief as Tonowari said these words. The family thanked him and he explained that his children Aoânung and Tsireya will you and your sibling their ways. The boy Aoânung had obvious protest but was shut down by his father and the Tsireya just smiled and showed your family around. The next few weeks weâre going to be hard.
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
There WILL be a part three focusing on your time with the metkayina clan so pls donât comment saying itâs a cliffhanger. Anyways hoped you enjoyed :)
âââââââââââââââââââââââ
Part 3: Learning their ways
Okay, so you know that scene from Disney's Hercules? With Meg when she stands up while ringing out her hair and the water is beautiful behind her and Hercules is whipped? Yeah that but with Neteyam.
~.~
After relocating to the Metkayina and learning their ways, Neteyam had finally grown into one of their own, in both spirit and body. Now an adult, he grew taller, broader, his physic left many girls and women watching him like predators from a distance.
Coming back from a successful hunting trip, he carried a large net of fish on his back, Ao'nung and other men walking along side him with their own. "I'd say today was an excellent hunt,"Ao'nung had a smug look on his face, dumping the net off fish into a large basket that the clans cooks used in their little pavilion to keep track of the food brought in.
"You only say that because you got the biggest catch of the day," Neteyam gave a playful glare to his friend, shoving the next clan leader out of his way before dumping his own net of fish as well.
"Ah, come on my friend," Ao'nung placed his arm around the dark blue Na'vi, giving him a teasing noogie to the head before the man pushed him with a growl, pointing his finger at Ao'nung.
"Keep on, we'll see who's the better hunter," Neteyam challenged, their friends of the group letting out hoots of encouragement at the sound of the banter. "So you say Forest Boy," Ao'nung was quick to push Neteyam down out of surprise, taking off into the village laughing.
"Ao'nung, you skxawng!" Neteyam quickly stood up and took off after his friend, a grin on his face as he quickly caught up. Ao'nung had never been that fast of a runner.
"Watch it!" A older clansmen yelled, pulling his mate out of the way of the two young men who were too busy acting like children than the adults they were. "Sorry!" Neteyam waved back in apology, not looking to where he was running when he collided with something, or rather someone.
Someone much shorter, much softer, much plumper than him, he noted before both were sent flying to the sea from the walk way, Neteyam briefly hearing his friends chortle of laughter from above the water.
He resurfaced and shook his braids out of his face, Ao'nung holding his stomach, pointing with a laugh as the other guys joined in. "Way to use your eyes Neteyam, I should take notes," One of the hunters mocked, Ao'nung reaching a hand out now to pull his friend up.
It was only when Neteyam turned to view who he'd run into that his breath caught in his throat, eyes wide as he saw the most beautiful woman.
She stood a few feet away onto a lower part of a marui she'd climbed onto. Half bent over to ring our her hair, her eyes trailing up his person as she stood up, her eyes shining in the sunlight like the sea behind her, painting the most gorgeous picture in his eyes. One he didn't wanna forget.
"You are probably the most lucky or unlucky bastard ever," Ao'nung mumbled, a grin on his face as he wrapped an arm around his star struck friend, the rest of the hunters now looking at the young woman.
Only she was not just any young woman, she was the daughter of the lead hunter in the clan, a true treasure to any young man who could gain her father's approval, which really meant her approval.
"Who, is that," Neteyam was starstruck as she girl looked him up and down, water trailing down her body to places he wanted to explore in a more, secluded, area with just the two of them.
"Why don't you go find out," Ao'nung pushed his friend in her direction, Neteyam tripping over his feet to walk properly at first but approached the young lady who watched him walk over, a small hint of amusement hidden in her eyes.
"I'm sorry, I didn't see you there," Neteyam bowed his head in apology, somewhat guilty for having run into her, but also relishing the fact he had.
"Mmm, for someone who is such a wonderful hunter, you're not that good with watching where you're going," Her voice was firm but soft, almost playfully condescending the poor man who felt ready to drop to his knees.
"If I'd been watching, I never would've run into you, and I would've hated to miss that opportunity," He flashed a grin in her direction, the girl crossing her arms as she gave one back, "A shame this will be your only opprotunity for the day," she huffed, turning around and letting her hair hit him in the face before beginning to walk off.
"Wait, you don't have to run off, I didn't even get your name?" Neteyam called out to her, watching as she stopped only a few feet away, turning to look over her shoulder, "I said you already used your opprotunity today, who knows what opprotunity you have tomorrow," she smirked, flashing her fangs before walking away, hips swaying just a little bit more than before.
"What a fine opprotunity indeed," Neteyam hummed, his eyes trailing after her body as she disappeared around the corner of Marui's.
Rotxo x metikayan reader?
Y/n isnt a healer or a fighter, they enjoy singing and dancing for the clan
Other then that I've got nothing so go crazy!!
Rotxo x Metkayina ! Reader
Pronouns used : They / Them
Note(s) : The readers ilu is named Kailani, no reason other than it'd be clunky to constantly write 'the ilu'
"When you bond with a ilu they do not bond for life, they are not owned by anybody, you will be able to make the bond soon but first you must-" The gentle yet firm hold I had on my ilu, Kailani, was loosened in confusion as my words trailed off, the lesson put a hold as the children watching my demonstration jumped. The distracting event that caused this being an unusual flap of strong wings and an earsplitting animal cry.
This did not sound like the creatures I had ever been familiar with.
My eyes snapped up and landed on the ikran's in the sky, tilting my head as Kailani done the same, chirping in confusion and fear at the five flying creatures. They were from the forest, forest people do not come to our islands unless they were warning or in trade with my people. The latter has not happened for years. The children began muttering, looking completely mesmerised by the ikran's, I sternly began speaking to them.
"Although it is unlikely this is a warning of danger, we must be respectful to them, understand?" My ears downcast in worry as my heavy tail stiffly stuck to my leg as a hope for closeness. The multiple lessons on culture or gathering materials were stopped, all children were now on the back of the adult's or teenager's ilus to ride over and witness what was happening.
One hopped behind me on Kailani and held on tight. I gently stroked the head of Kailani and muttered 'forward', repeating comforting words in my head to calm both me and the the unsure ilu down, sucking in a hurried breath and slowing down my now steady heartbeat as my head peeked underwater. I expertly navigated the corals and stones leading to the beach where they'd land, worried for the safety of my people made you almost completely unaware of my own surroundings, yet still pushing forward until I saw the sand form a slope to the beach.
As my head slowly rose from the water I breathed in the air, waiting until Kailani didn't have much more room to swim so I could gently take the child off her back, pushing them to join their mother who hurriedly motioned for them to come closer.
I had come just in time to witness them be in conversation with our tribes Olo'eyktan and Tsahik, Tonowari and Ronal respectively. The forest people had strange features, while I was of course fully aware forest people had darker skin, thinner arms, different eyes and fluffy tipped tails, however these ones had more fingers than they were suppose to, and strange hair above their eyes.
This was very crudely pointed out by the Tsahik who was only convinced to give them shelter by their close family bond, the Olo'eyktan motioned to the group of teenagers consisting of his two children, Ao'nung and Tsireya, along with Rotxo, telling them how they'd be of assistance to learn the ocean people's ways.
He then turned to me, informing the family of outsiders how I am one of the best at teaching young ones to prepare for ilu's and even a warriors ride. Therefore it would stand to reason I would be excellent at teaching them our people's ways, as if they were young children learning for the first time.
My heart sped up slightly at the thought of working with Rotxo, I had been nervous around him for years and so rarely joined in on hunts where he was involved. It helped greatly how I'm not a healer or one of the warriors in training for my tribe, therefore I would not be in close proximity to healing him as he was fairly reckless, nor would I be training with him regularly. However, now I wouldn't be able to back out, it made me nervous, but also made me excited.
On the next sunrise me and the others would begin teaching the outsiders, and while I had never prided myself on appearances, preferring your cultures dances or songs, I took extra time doing my hair and perfecting how our clothing was worn. I'd told myself it was in order to show a good first impression for the tribes guests, however, I was fully aware of the true reason.
With an extra pep in my step, bouncing lightly on the cloth which connected my own marui and another's, then jumping from them into the water. I happily twirled around the rich wildlife around me and drifted towards the main part of the beach. Popping my head out of the water, I noticed Tsireya and two of the forest people, but nobody else. Slowly standing up and exiting the water, I looked around completely confused on where Rotxo and the others were.
"Where is everybody?" I questioned Tsireya, she smiled knowingly at the very obvious 'hidden' meaning to my question.
"Rotxo." She paused with heavy emphasis on his name "Is with Ao'nung, Neteyam, the eldest brother, and Kiri, the eldest daughter. We will be teaching Tuk-" She gestured to the youngest. "-and Lo'ak." Tsireya gave a softer smile to him and almost whispered his name, I honestly wanted to laugh at how she teased me for my crush yet was head over heels for a complete stranger, but I held my tongue.
"Alright, should we begin with breathing exercises?" I sucked in a sharp breath and tried to not seem too down, they need teaching and I was chosen for this reason, not to drool needlessly over a boy.
When the first lesson was over, Tuk and Lo'ak had done well in learning how to hold their breath effectively, and while they couldn't hold it anywhere near me or Tsireya, the forest siblings were better than when they had started. The group were all going to disperse when I heard loud splashing.
"First lesson over for you as well? Thought you'd take less time" The eldest brother rolled his eyes at Lo'ak's passive aggressive comment, smiling and sassily smacking the back of his head. He was going to reply when a bundle of hair bounced to Tsireya and loudly spoke.
"Because we're done with lessons can I learn songs!" Tuk dragged out songs and tugged on Tsireya's arm, who looked down at her shining yellow eyes and laughed a little.
"Well, I am the wrong person, look over there if you want to learn dance and song." She teasingly whispered, shaking her shoulders and smiling bright at how my face practically lit up in seconds.
"Oh! Yes, well what type do you want to know? We have plenty of wonderful songs and dance for you to learn! Of course it cannot compare to your own culture which has more music than us, however it is still needed for certain ceremonies and-" I continued rambling as Tuk's excited look got happier every second, bouncing on her feet and begging for you to teach her.
"Tonight I will teach you! Do you all wish to join as well?" I looked at the other siblings in anticipation, who nodded and agreed with eager smiles. I turned to the other Metkyina's present. "Tsireya, Ao'nung-" I shyly looked down, my face beginning to burn a little "Rotxo... Do you want to join in teaching?"
"Why not? Some of our practices do require many of us." Tsireya grinned, turning to her brother who rolled his eyes. Muttering some choice words to which she slapped his arm and looked with eyes wide at me and Rotxo. Ao'nung's mouth gaped for a second before chuckling.
"Sure, fine." He agreed, Rotxo only joining due to this, I gratefully smiled at the chiefs son and motioned for them all to join me.
"We shall go prepare," I turned to the forest siblings "You will all meet us here after we eat, okay?" They all nodded, a small grumble from Lo'ak on if he has to but agreeing with a grin for a certain friend of mine nonetheless.
We shall rushed to our marui and gained permission to ask for some instruments that players would be willing to lend us, along with playing for when he would dance. When the time had come, I noticed Tsireya and Ao'nung whispering to each other, worried on if something was wrong I decided to approach them.
"Are we missing anything?" Tsireya shyly looked down.
"I forgot to ask one of the instrument players, is there any way you could go to Apikalia and ask if they will join?" She asked, I nodded given we still had a few minutes until we were expected to start.
"Of course!" I began my way across the beach, skipping and happily humming a tune to myself while in waiting, jumping up to the cloth bridges. However, as I looked into Apikalia's marui not to find them, but to find Rotxo.
I jumped in surprise and he proceeded to do the same, holding a hand over his beating heart. My face burned hot, I looked down and began stuttering, I realised I was set up by Tsireya and her brother.
"Oh, you're already looking for them? I will go-" My sentence was momentarily cut off as Rotxo rushed forward and grabbed my hand. Only a few feet away from me.
"Why are you avoiding me?" His voice was high and offended, but also worried. I opened my mouth in shock, closing it soon after when his eyes almost welled with tears, shiny and deep whenever I looked in them, demanding an answer.
"I didn't want to, I just..." Gulping, I thought. Better now then never. "Can't face you." I closed my eyes and breathed in deep, slowly preparing myself to answer.
"Because...?" He trailed off, Rotxo's eyes had fear in them. For what I was unsure, but if I hid my feelings things would never progress.
"Because I love you. Rotxo. I see you." My hands subconsciously done the motion, looking up into his shocked eyes. They softened as he stepped closer to me.
"And I see you." His grip left my hand, instead going to my shoulders and leaning in close. I done the same, both of us closing our eyes, both our lips meeting in a sweet and shy kiss. Neither aware on how to do this, but both confident in our abilities as long as it was us. Together.
When we separated, I looked down.
"We were set up..." I awkwardly twiddled with my hands. "Tsireya and her dumb brother." I mumbled and crossed my arms, moving back two steps.
"Oh, I thought we were genuinely both searching for Apikalia." He chuckled, scratching the back of his head shyly when I laughed, moving his other hand down to hold my own. Both of our heads turned to the opening when someone awwd and another gagged.
"You two are so adorable." Tsireya held a hand over her chest in adoration, laughing loudly when I stuck my tongue out like a child.
"You're so gross." Ao'nung cringed at us. We both, embarrassed, realised we were still holding hands. Yanking my hand off and glaring daggers at the other boy.
"At least we have each other, what do you have?" I sassily crossed my arms over my chest, Rotxo held a hand over this mouth trying desperately not to laugh at him.
"They're not wrong-" Tsireya began teasing her brother but he playfully hissed at me and began leaving.
"Come on, they're expecting us and we're late, losers." Ao'nung chuckled when he heard me stomping over, jumping into the water and avoiding my playful slap to his head.
"He's right, let's go." Tsireya joined her brother swimming to the beach, I smiled and looked back to Rotxo who was shyly walking closer to me.
"So you want to hunt with me tommorow? I know you don't like hunting but, it's either you or Ao'nung." He shyly held his hand out, to which I took and grinned.
"Of course I'll join you, idiot. Don't think I'll be any good though."
I am free but i am cringe

How I imagine the night time looks for the Metkayina tribe
Milky Way Over A Bioluminescent Ocean.
"One thing about me..." Tsireya hummed as she thought of a fact about her that not even her brother knew. This game was rather difficult, as Lo'ak had explained to her earlier. It was meant for more sky people friends to get to know each other better, as they don't spend nearly as much time with each other as Na'vi get to. But, it was a challenge she was more than willing to take if it meant she got to spend time with the Sully siblings. She had gotten to learn some interesting things so far, and a couple of things about her brother that she didn't know before, "Is that I dislike sea grass wraps on my feet." Â
"But your hands and face are fine?" Rotxo leans his head forward to stare at her incredulously. It was true, that she enjoyed caring for her body, proper amounts of sleep, strict balances of different foods, and she did put a lot of effort into caring for her skin. But her feet? She was revolted at letting anything touch her feet.Â
"Yes, of course," She felt a bashful giggle work out of her. She supposed that was the point of the game, expressing things about yourself that you normally wouldn't, so others can learn about you. Even the silly little things.Â
"But that is the best part!" Neteyam blinked at her, his arm finally out of the awful sling. A small scar rose above the rest of his skin, lying not too far away from his heart. "Resting your tired feet from a day of proper labor?"Â
Tsireya couldn't help herself from blanching. Nope, nope, nope, she could feel the sogging plant between her toes already. Her stomach twisted in response to the thought.Â
"Absolutely not." She crinkled her nose. "Let's move away from the subject of feet, your turn!" She looked up to the rock the tawtute had perched himself on. She found it a little odd how he always was on top of things, but Tuk told her that's just how Spider was. Granted that wasn't the only thing...unique about the young male. However, Tsireya found herself enjoying Spider's company. He was thoughtful and open to the world, similar to Lo'ak and Kiri. He held a kind and protective demeanor, an observant eye like Neteyam. He was just as playful as Tuk. So she couldn't say all sawtute were bad, or good, she could tell that Spider was a child of Ewya, which made him a friend of hers.Â
"One thing about me is that my name means war relief or soldier's relief." He smiled as glanced over the group. Tsireya could feel her ears pricked which her curiosity. His name meant that? She didn't know sky people names had meaning.Â
"Hold up Monkey boy, when did you learn that?" Kiri twisted her head over her to glance at her brother. Her eyes held a serious intent. Tsireya noted the surprise from the rest of the Suli siblings.Â
"Yeah bro, when did you learn that?" Lo'ak placed a hand on Tsireya's knee as he leaned forward to look around her.Â
"Spi-ter means war relief?" Ao'nung's tongue was a little thick on the other's name, well, all theirs were. The other teen's name was definitely not Na'vi. The syllables and sounds just didn't sound right together. Thus she often, like her brother and friend frequently butched his name just a little. Tsireya, did feel bad about it.Â
"Ah...No" Spider rubbed the back of his head. He rolled his head side to side with his shoulder swaying as well, his five fingers almost touching each other as his upturned palms were held close to his body. Tsireya had deduced the movement as an unsure body gesture, she had only seen Toruko Makto, and the dreamwalker that visited after the Battle at Three Brothers do it before.
"So, Spider isn't actually my name, it's a nickname." Tsireya needed to blink, she had been staring for a bit too long. His name wasn't Spider? "My name is Miles Javier Socorro, but rarely anyone uses my middle name." His name was Meilys?Â
"Now I'm confused, why don't you use your real name?" Rotxo folded his arms and looked at Spider with some skepticism. Tsireya could understand. It was a lot to take in. Why wasn't his family name Tshaka? or Tsykeitan? What was a middle name?Â
"So I'm adopted like Kiri, and my birth parents died in the battle of Hallelujah Mountains," Kiri was nodding along, however, Tsireya noticed how Kiri's face went solemn. Tsireya glanced at Lo'ak for some type of answer. Yet his face was drawn tight as well, his eyes downcast at the rock below them. Tsireya was hoping that Neteyam would be more upbeat, but his face was hard, ear pinned back with distaste.Â
"They were bad people though, they attacked the Na'vi. I was only a week old at the time. My Dad, or at least his memories, were put into a dreamwalker's body. He's the one who led the burning of the Anerui village, and the hunt against the Tulkun and the one who held you hostage on the ship." Spider's voice grew quiet. He was ashamed. "His name is Miles."Â
"Miles means war, doesn't it?" Neteyam spoke, his eyes trained on Spider's folded, defeated-looking body. Like just telling them that had exhausted him. Spider nodded languidly.
"Miles is from the dead language called Latin, it technically means solider or warrior, but it's been so well associated with war, that it can be used as the word in some cases." Tsireya's mouth was dry and hot. Who could find war so beautiful, that one would name a baby after it?
"My mother's name, Paz Soccorro, in Espanol, her...tribe's native language," Spider glanced at Ao'nung and gave a weak smile, Tsireya felt something in her chest untwist as Ao'nung gave his own reassuring smile back. When had she started feeling sick? "Means Peace relief."Â
"War and peace, huh?" Lo'ak barked with a disbelieving laugh. Tsireya could share the sediment. That was truly ironic.Â
"What does Quaritch mean Spider?" Kiri asked, her voice wobbling from the topic of the nightmare that made their family flee their home. Spider sighed, how could Tsireya feel his saddened soul from one gust of breath? His family name, his ancestors, had cursed him by giving his name to be of violence.Â
"Quaritch is thought to be of Slovak origin, which means a smith, or a special maker of something," Spider rolled and rested his back on the rock. His face was no longer visible to her, but Tsireya was certain that Miles, (Spider?) wasn't proud. His tongue flicked the sky people's word out easily before returning to the mother's tongue.Â
"So his name would be war maker," Rotxo concluded. Tsireya rubbed her thumb between her fingers. Sawtute names had meaning, deep meaning, it spoke of their ancestors and their actions.Â
"What does Tsykek's name mean?" Tsireya found herself asking before she could stamp the thought down. Spider sat up and glanced at her.Â
"His full name is Jacob, Jake is his nickname. And it means to follow, or one who seizes. Some believe that it means deceiver. It's Hebrew, the language I mean." Tsireya watched Lo'ak jaw relax and open. His enchanting eyes were wide as he gazed at his older brother.Â
"Does dad have a middle name too?"Â
"It's Oscar." Spider grinned as Lo'ak started cackling, and Tsireya found herself laughing along with them. As much as she respected the warrior, sky people names sounded awfully silly.Â
  "Kiri, your turn!"Â
"One thing about me..."Â
Hi! Can you please write Neteyam x reader headcanons for how he would react to his s/o falling asleep on his shoulder? Thanks!

⏠A/N..If Course I can! If you all have any more requests please send some!I made this reader like they loves to sleep 24/7 đ. Thank you for the request!
Usually when people take naps they canât sleep later on..
That sadly happened to you tonight :(
You had tossed and turned all night but with no prevail, you stayed awake
You didnât wanna bother your mate, Neteyam so you left him be
He did wake up during the night though,
Hearing you groans of agony as you tried to put yourself to sleep
He wondered why you didnât ask him to help you sleep?
So he did what he though was best at the moment and started cuddling you from behind
It spooked you a little, not knowing he was awake but it was comforting
Even after his cuddles and forehead kisses, you still werenât tired
It didnât help you had a rough training in the morning
So that night you just looked up at the sky and watched the stars
You did sleep for a few hours donât worry!
By a few hours I mean 1-2 ;(
The next morning you had lots of hardcore training and hunting to do
Which was horrible for you since you were exhausted
During your training, you were so tired you started nodding off slowly
But no fear!
Mr. Best boyfriend of the year is here!
He was standing beside you since you both trained with Jake together
It just so happens that when you kept nodding off your head fell into place on his shoulder
He was shook at first
He knew you were tired but this tired?
Neteyam also knew about your little naps during the day
But being his S/O he covers for you
He might have to keep you from doing that from now on thoughâŠ
But nonetheless he let you sleep on him
Your boyfriend actually thought it was adorable how you fell asleep on him
The peaceful look on your face
To the slight snores you made
It made him lightly chuckle, trying not to wake you
Like I said before he does think itâs cute that you sleep on him..
But that habit is gonna have to stop if you donât want his father scolding you later on
Heâll nudge you with his shoulder and wake you up so you wonât be in trouble
Then heâll whisper,
keep your head up love, father wonât be happy when he sees you sleeping during his lessons
with a small smile following it :)

Synopsis: You and Rotxo have been courting each other for a while now. Tsireya notices this and gets jealous, but in secret Y/n and Rotxo have mated.
Warnings: Mentions of sex, jealousy, angst & fluff, secret relationship, a little Tsireya & Loâak at the end
Request: I'm a total sucker for torment, so i come to humbly ask for a part two on Tsireya and sully y/n, but i wanna see how thing's between the two go when their older and y/n reluctantly falls in love (genuinely in love at that, slightly more relaxed and less guarded and defensive compared to when others had tried courting them) with Roxto after a while of him courting them? Y/n is scared that their parent's might separate them from him like with what happened with Tsireya? Perhaps the pair become secret mates and it's later revealed?
A/n: Yes!! Iâve been planning on doing a part 2 but never knew how I wanted it. This was great idea, I appreciate it anon! Hopefully I did this nicely!! đ Even though I totally forgot the whole plot to the other đ.
Rotxo x Metkayina! Reader | Taireya x Metkayina! Reader | Tsireya x Loâak
You and Rotxo were sitting together on the sand talking with one another. Then you heard laughter coming from afar, being as curious as you were you turned your head in the direction only yo quickly turn back to your mate.
Tsireya was coming near.
The two of you havenât talked since the incident when you two split. Itâs been almost a year since then. Over time youâve tried to get over her but somehow failed.
But one day though, youâve finally caught feelings for another. Rotxo. You were overjoyed that youâd be able to move on from your past love.
Your feelings towards Rotxo were very obvious to everyone, including Tsireya. To say she wasnât happy about it would be an understatement.
She was furious. With herself and you. Had it been so long that youâve finally gotten over her? Have you finally found another? Her heart started to crack but deep down she knew it was for the best.
For the both of you.
It hurt seeing you happy with someone else but she has to suck it up and pretend like she wasnât hurting on the inside.
Meanwhile you and Rotxo has had a blast getting to know each other over time. Even to the point where youâve started courting one another. Your parents never knew, you told him that youâd be devastated if the two of you got separated.
So he agreed to keep it between the two of you.
He always brought you gifts like seashell necklaces or pearl bracelets and youâd always accept them with a huge smile on your face. Tsireya saw this too. She was fuming with anger inside her but nonetheless she kept it to herself.
Your parents found you on their own, but they were overjoyed once you had found a potential mate! Very supportive of you and Rotxo.
You and Rotxo have been so close relationship wise that you both thought it was time to take it to the next level.
He brought you to the closest place to Eywa where every couple goes to mate.
It was beautiful, to the glowing tendrils & the night sky above you. It was perfect. âRotxo, I love it here. Thank you for bringing me.â
The two of you were so close, so close that your noses were touching. âItâs my pleaser, my love.â The two of you looked into each otherâs eyes before you closed the gap into a passionate kiss.
You both slowly started to descend on the rock beneath the both of you. You reached down to untie is loin cloth, but before doing that you looked up at him with curious eyes.
âLove, are you sure you want to do this with me?â He cupped your chin to tilt your head towards him. âIâd want to do anything with you, my love. It is okay.â
Then before you knew it, the both of you were bare before each other. Everything was so perfect. Down to the part where he was entering you and when you connected your Kuruâs to each other. That whole night was every thing you could imagine and more.
Somehow Tsireya over heard you that night. She was going to see Eywa until she heard the both of you. She was seething with anger as she went back to the island, storming off after that.
It was time for dinner with her family anyways, so sheâs right on time. She went to dinner angry though, her mother asking her what was wrong but she shrugged it off. Saying it was from her having a bad training that day.
She went to bed angry too. It was horrible to think she could pray to Eywa for you to come back to her. Only to have mated with someone else before she could even get there.
You didnât even have a proper mating ritual ceremony for crying out loud, so why were you mating? She didnât know, she couldnât think all that good at the moment with her tears flooding her vision every few seconds.
That night she cried herself to sleep.
You and Rotxo were no secret to anyone anymore after that. After you two made it official you almost told the whole village!
The only person you told the people to not tell was Tsireya. It would hurt your heart to tell her.
Hell, even her parents knew!
One day though, her parents were talking about hosting your and Rotxoâs mating ritual ceremony. She over Heard them that night too. When they heard a sob they turned their heads to the curtains to find a silhouette of their daughter out side walking off.
They groaned to themselves for letting it slip knowing their child was awake.
Tsireya knew she had to tell you how she felt about you still.
The next day she thought about confronting you about it telling you how she felt so she can get over you already.
You were in your Marui doing crafts when she came in. Her fuming with anger made you confused âWhat is wrong Tsireya? Has something happened?â âYes, something has happened and I need to you tell me why!â
Her voice had a booming anger to it which frightened you. Youâd never seen her get so angry like this. âWhy did you and Rotxo mate last night? Why ____?â She had a pleading look on her face while you had a shocked one.
Her question was met with silence and she looked at you in disbelief. She started confessing her longing feelings for you afterwards, mentioning that she had to get them off her chest.
She wanted you to say something. She wanted you to come back to her, but she knew that couldnât happen. âI am sorry Tsireya, but I have already chosen.â You weâre just as hurt as she was. Seeing her like this. She just looked at you and scoffed, walking out of your tent.
You started to tear up at her words, you didnât know that she had felt that way about you still. But it was already too late.
She thought that to get her mind off the whole thing she would take a swim on her Ilu. Itâs been almost an hour since then and sheâs calmed down, feeling better.
She was playing with all the fish in the water when she heard something. There was a horn that caught her attention, so she got on her Ilu and went back to the village.
She came back to see her people surrounding what looks like newcomers. She swam off her Ilu and got off the water to take a closer look.
Then she saw a boy. With a darker blue skin tone and braided hair. Her heart couldnât help but race at the sight of him. He caught her eye and looked back at her, then followed up by a short wave.
She giggled and turned her attention back to her people. Her eyes wandered around until she found you. She quickly looked away, seeing standing by Rotxo with your arm around his. You smacked his head when he had fun of the two boys in front of you with a glare.
Her father and the Oloâeyktan of the Omatikaya comes to terms that they will stay and learn their ways to not be failures.
Tonowari mentioned that Tsireya & Aoânung would show them around with no take backs. âBut father-â âIt has already been decided.â He had a firm tone to his voice when she said that.
Tsireya was more than happy to show them around and get a chance to talk to the boy she had her eyes on.
Maybe thisâll be her chance to find someone new. To have a new relationship with another just like you did.
That was the first time she met Loâak.

You and Tsireya are both 18 years old!
ââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââââ
You and your family left your home to seek safety away from the Sky people. It was sad leaving your home, but you knew it was for the best to keep your family safe. You didnât exactly know where you all were going to go but it seemed like your father did.
You all traveled through eclipse and through storm. Your Ikran was getting tired of flying but then you say ahead a place which looked likeâŠa reef? You didnât know what exactly your father has lead you all here for so you were just confused. When you all were approaching you saw the people of the clan. Which they look very different from what you were used to seeing.
You landed on the island and all of their clan all of a sudden showed up. Their faces were kind of giving us mixed signals. Some were looking like they were confused, while others gave looks of disapproval. You all landed your Ikrans on the sandy shore and as you all got off, your father being the first to step foot on the land walked towards the people with his hands raised as if to show peace.
The locals kept staring and after a few minutes youâve gotten uncomfortable but luckily your older brother Neteyam saw your discomfort and stood beside you to shield you from their eyes. You look around the place trying to take it all in when your eyes landed on something in the water.
It seemed to be a person, a beautiful one in fact. You were starting at her for awhile as she moved out of the water,it was so hard to take you eyes off of her. As she fully came out of the water the two of you made eye contact for a few seconds. âHeyâ you said with a small smile. You tried to wave at her but your brother smacked your hand down as the Oloâeyktan showed up.
All she did in return was giggle at you and smile and you couldnât help but feel all giddy inside as you watch your father and the Oloâeyktan talk. In the middle of their conversation a woman showed up, dressed in more finer clothes so she had to the Tsahik. After a while your father and the clan leader finally decided that you and your family would stay with the clan..as long as you all adapt.
He mentioned that his son & daughter will assist you all along the way. âMy children, Aoânung and Tsireya will be assisting your children to adapt to the water.â Then you looked to his side and there she was. You finally caught her name and smiled to yourself. It was a very beautiful name suited for her. âCome! I will show you our village.â She looked very excited to help us. You could just tell Youâll have a good time with her during all this.
ââââââââââââââââââââ
It has been a few weeks of being with the Metkayina and you and your siblings have been learning well. Recently Tsireya has been giving you longing looks, staring a little too long at you. You obviously noticed a few times since she wasnât even trying to be secretive about it. Donât get me wrong, you have a HUGE crush on her,but your not as obvious.
There was one thing you had trouble with during your lessons that you just couldnât get right and you were frustrated. Your breathing was still off and you couldnât be under water as long as your siblings because of it.
Tsireya noticed that you werenât following them under water the she looked up and there were your legs still in the water. She swam up next to you while you were still catching your breath. âAre you okay? Do you need any help?â She looked at you with her eyebrow muscles moving upward in question.
âNo! I keep trying to get used to the breathing technique and it keeps failing!â Your lips pout for a moment and Tsireya giggles at this wit her hand up to her mouth. âIt is fine. I will help you. How about tonight? Iâm free then.â She looked at you in question again. You took this as your opportunity to make your move on her.
You were occupying yourself with things to do until it became eclipse. You were making a necklace for Kiri, youâve seen her looking at these crystals in the ocean so youâve gotten some for her. You hid the necklace under a blanket and headed out of your Marui.
You walked a long the shore for a while and soon enough, you saw her on a rock in the waters. So you swam up to her smiling and she gave you a warm smile back. You pulled your self on the rock and sat criss crossed.
âWe will start with you lesson now.â She said as she gently put her hand on your stomach and chest. âBreathe in slowly.â You feel your heart beat faster because of how close she is to your face. âYour heart rate is very fast. Calm down.â Smiling gently you nodded as if determined.
You tried to slow your heart beat down but it failed. She looked up at you in your eyes without saying anything. It was like a silent plea she gave you and before you two know it your kissing in the middle of the night. Her hand on your waist and your hand behind her neck to pull her closer to you.
Unfortunately, you had to part ways to breathe. You looked at each other with so much adoration for each other. âI will see you tomorrow at our lessons.â She smiled at your brightly and swam back to shore in no time. You waited for her to leave before you sighed like you were in love. After a while of waiting you swam back to shore and walked to your familyâs Marui.
ââââââââââââââââââââ
Over the next few days you and Tsireya have been doing that often. Even during the lessons, kissing behind huge rocks or coral reefs you name it. Both of your parents hav been suspicious of you two lately, seeing a change in your behaviors.
So, all four of them met up late at night to have a discussion about you two. âDo you think something is going on between them? Theyâve both been acting the exact same, all giggly and happy.â Your mother said with a worries look on her face.
Tonowari sighed and said âI do think something is going on, the behavior was just so sudden.â Tonowari seemed more calm about this situation, meanwhile Ronal is not having it. She believed Tsireya needs to distractions during her Tsahik training and you were clearly on of them.
âI think we should keep that away from each other.â All of the parents look at her to continue. âIt wonât be temporary, just until Tsireya becomes Tsahik in my place..I cannot have her having any distractions from that.â With a stern look on all of their faces they agree and nod their heads.
ââââââââââââââââââââ
You and tsireya have been distant from each other lately. Nothing bad was going on between the two of you,but your tasks were just keeping you apart. You still try and make time for each other but it was never long, only a few minutes.
While you and Tsireya were walking past each other she stopped you and whispered in your ear âCome meet me at our spot tonight.â She said with a worried look. You nodded and kept walking ahead wondering what she was so worried about.
ââââââââââââââââââââ
Surprisingly you swam to the rock first this time getting there before her. Usually she was always there before you. Hmm. Somethings definitely wrong. Sooner or later she shows up and apologizes for being late. âWhat did you need to discuss? When you came to me you seemed worried. What is wrong?â She sighed and looked down at her fingers.
âI donât think we should do.. this anymore.â She gestures to you and her. Did she not like you anymore? Why would she do this? âWhy? Have I donât something wrong? I promise Iâll fix it-â âNo! it is not you. It is our parents. I think theyâre onto us and..to my mother, becoming the Tsahik after her means everything to her. I donât want to let her down.â Looking down, you understand want she meant, she thought you were being a distraction towards her and her goal.
âBut just know, during anything ____ I see you.â She said witha genuine face but it was also full with hurt. âI see you Tsireyaâ you sniffled slightly and tried to give your best smile to her only to fail.
It hurt your heart knowing that you wonât be able to be together because of that, but you respect her and her wishes with a silent nod and tears coming down your face slowly. You got up and swam back to shore. â____! Wait!â She yelled after you but you just kept walking. Wiping your tears away.
ââââââââââââââââââââ
The days after that, you and Tsireya never talked about anything other than the lessons it was something she forgot to show you all because it slipped her mind..because during that time she was with you.
You never look her way anymore. Never thought about her more than a helping guide on how to live there. The same goes for her, she is trying to keep her reputation up,& being with someone? Was not on the table.
I guess thatâs just how it was going to be from now on..

You cant be serious. How could he just confessed to me so openly like that? I look at him in shock before I look away. This was new to me, this whole experience was. I was lost for words. So much that my mouth was completely dry from having it open for too long. I could tell his expression was awaiting on me to answer, so I did. âYou..like me?â I paused for a moment before I continued. âI could say Iâm very..glad,to hear that from you. As I do like you too but I have just one question. Why? The other boys from my clan donât see me in the way that you do. So why do you like me this much?â I asked desperately, I hope heâs not just playing with my feelings right now.
Neteyamâs pov
Did she really just ask me that? What I liked about her? I look at her kind of offended. âAre you saying my taste in women is bad? I think your a very pretty girl ____, but thatâs not just the only reason why I like you.â I said hoping she doesnât cut me off as I continue.
âYou have this sort of..mysterious thing about you that has me wondering. Wanting to know more things about you. I love the way you smile at me even if itâs not a big one,it still counts. We relate to so many different topics, I love the time that we spend together ____. Every moment I try to spend it with you during that day. Thatâs why I like you.â I say all of this very confidently. Iâve never shared my feelings this openly to anyone about this sort of topic. Itâs new. Itâs special at the same time too. â I hope that you can accept my confession to you ____â I hope she does, back at my original home I never had the time to..have a crush you could say. Now I have a little more time on my hands to do so.

âNeteyam. Do you mean all of this?â If so, please tell me now.â It almost sounds like I was begging at this point. I needed to know the truth before I say my true answer to him. He nods at me, I look in his eyes to see if sheâs telling the truth. Being the Tsahik in training had its perks. I read him spiritually, to see if he was lying to me. But I saw now lies, therefore he was telling the truth. I sighed and told him my answer.
âNeteyam. I like you too. I realized it a few days ago, but I really do. I do accept your confession.â I say with almost tears in my eyes. I canât believe this was happening. He ran up to me and hugged me while lifting me on the air. He started laughing and so did I. For a moment he stopped and I looked down at him to see him already looking at me. I looked deep into his eyes and leaned down..that is how we had our first kiss.
âââââââââââââââââââââ
Itâs been at least 3 days since that whole confession happened and me and Neteyam are taking it slow. You could say we are a couple,I donât really count things as dating unless two Naâvi bond. But weâre too young for that at the moment. Neteyam has been thinking about telling our parents about our relationship. Iâve been against it every time he brought it up.
Iâve only been against it because I donât know how my mother will react. Iâm not too worried about my father, heâs always been an open man. Hopefully he can accept us too, even though me and him donât get on good terms heâs still my father either way.
I sighed as Neteyam asked for what it feels like the 10th time today. I stop in my tracks and groaned annoyingly. â Ugh! Fine, we can tell them. As long as you stop annoying me.â I said glaring back at him while he looks as happy as day.
ââââââââââââââââââ-
We told his parents first. They are a lot more open to new things, rather than mine. I would say the most shocked one had to be Jake, his father. Neteyam has mentioned that a while ago he had told his mother that he liked me,so it wasnât a surprise to her. None the less, they were happy for the both of us that we were finally together.
Now on to the hard part..my parents. They had been in the Marui for a while now. I sighed as I couldnât be any more nervous. Neteyam saw this and said â Hey, itâs going to be okay. If anything happens Iâll be right by your side.â He says as I nod and headed my way in.
âMom, dad, I have something I would like to tell you.â I said trying to be as confident as I could. âMe and Neteyam are together, as a couple.â I said with a stern face trying to his my nervousness if it ever came through. They look at each other amused before laughing.
Me and Neteyam look at each in question when I ask âWhat? Why are you laughing?â They stopped laughing and said âDaughter, me and you father already knew. Your nosy brother told us that same night. He was eavesdropping.â My mother said as she rolled her eyes at the thought of my brother. âEven though you donât need our approval, we accept you and your relationship with the boy.â My father said witha proud look on his face. I looked relieved and thanked them for their consent as Neteyam & I walked out of the Marui.
We looked at each other with a knowing look. Knowing that this relationship with definitely go far. Very far.

I sighed and just kept walking until I see ____ at the spot we were supposed to meet at, I saw her sitting by the shore line and I started to pick up my pace. I have the bracelet in hand, nervous to give it to her. I donât know what her reaction will be to it. Maybe she wonât like it? Maybe sheâll pretend she does then leaves it to someone else? I donât know, but Iâm going to test my luck and see.
Once Iâm close enough to her I tap her shoulder lightly to get her attention. She was kinda startled as she jumped at little, but she calmed down when she realized it was me. âHeyâ I Said a little nervous. âHey Neteyam, how are you?â She asked while still looking at the waters. â Iâm doing just fine actually. How are you?â I asked raising and eyebrow. âStressed.â She said as she sighed afterwards, and looked at the sand. I looked at her in question, I guess she could see my confusion as she looked at me and said â My mother has been putting a lot of pressure on me as of late.â Her eyebrows are furrowed together as she continues. â It has been stressing me out, all of the spiritual stuff that she is trying to teach me, just doesnât make any sense anymore.â
She looks as if sheâs about to cry at any moment now. I feel saddened at this, and said â Hey, if it makes you feel any better my father puts a lot of stress on me to be the next leader of the Omatikaya. Itâs not easy, but itâs a very important job and the people need a new leader when my father has finished his reign.â I said as I put a reassuring hand on her shoulder. She looks up at me with almost teary eyes and looked in my eyes deeply. Weâve made eye contact for a few seconds before we started to lean in and almost on cue, Aoânung has came to get ____ for their mother. We pulled away fast and she looked a little embarrassed while I made an awkward cough. She sighed â Well, I have to go. Iâll see you soon alright? Thank you for comforting me.â She smiled lightly as she walked away with her brother who gave a glare as the walked away. I could only roll my eyes and look back at the water. Then I remembered I didnât get to give her my gift.

I felt kind of frustrated at my brother for interrupting the moment between me and Neteyam on the beach you could call it. I donât know particularly why I felt this way. It felt like we were about to kiss, and the setting was just right with the sun setting behind us. Iâll ask my sister about it later, I donât know if I could say that.. I like him. Yeah, Iâll just ask her for safe measures.
âââââââââââââââââââ
After the meeting I had with my mother I immediately try to find Tsireya. I looked at the first place I know she would be, in the water and there she was,but I see her with Loâak. ïżŒTheir time is gonna have to be cut short as I started walking to the water. âTsireya!â I called out the first time. I guess she didnât hear me so I called out to her again â Tsireya!â. This time she turned her head to look my way. I motioned her over to where I was so I could ask her. â Yes sister? What do you need?â She asked politely, she was always the sweetest out of the 3 of us. â I need to talk about something with you. Itâs very important.â I say in a hurry. She looked kind of worried as she looked at me but she waved off to Loâak and started walking with me.
The moon was shining brightly behind us when she asked âWhat is it? Did something happen?â She asked. âActually.. yes.â I said hesitantly. She nodded for me to go on. âLetâs sit somewhere first.â I look over to some places to sit while we talk and she nodded her head again.
âSo?â She asked curiously. I sighed as I went all in â Today while me and Neteyam were spending time together at the shore, I felt..something.â she nodded for me to continue so I did â Then we almost kissed toe what it seemed like. Lately Iâve been feeling this weird feeling, like every time I see him I get all nervous and I have butterflies in my stomach and my hands get all sweaty.Iâve been feeling that way just a few days after him & his family arrived here.â I said. âWhat does that all mean, sister?â I asked impatiently.
She laughs a little and I looked at her confused for a moment. âWhatâs so funny?â I asked confusingly âNothing its just-â she started laughing again. I groaned and said â Just spit it out already!â âThose feelings older sister, mean that you might or most likely have a crush on him.â She giggled at me. I sat there shocked, Iâve never really liked anyone before. Mostly because the boys from my clan never really liked me because of the way my skin looked, but thatâs fine. âOkay.. thank you for telling me.â She nodded and we both headed back to our Marui for the night.
ââââââââââââââââââ
The next morning I saw Neteyam, now that I know what these feelings that I have for him are.. I get nervous. What if he doesnât like me back because of the way I look, just like all the other boys? Or what if he just doesnât like me in the way? All these thoughts were in my head all at once to the point that I didnât even see where I was going until I bumped into Neteyam.

This morning I woke up with determination. Iâve realized that all this time and all the signs were showing me that I desperately like ____. Today was going to be the day tagt I tell her. As well as give her the bracelet, but in my free time Iâve made her something else as well. Itâs a necklace, similar to what my mother has and the first bead is from when Iâm going to give it to her. A first memory if you willâŠthatâs if she accepts it. I was walking through the beach until I bumped into someone â Iâm so sorry!â They cried out. I looked down and there she was muttering apologies.
Then she looks up at me and then stops. âOh. Itâs just you, Neteyam.â She says bluntly. âYeah, itâs just me.â I said laughing at the look she gave me when she realized it was me she bumped into. âHey, can we talk for a moment?â I asked her, the she nodded and we started walking together. âI have some gifts for you.â I said as I showed her the bra tabs necklace that Iâve made her. âGifts? Thank you. I appreciate them.â She says with a small smile, but also in a monotone voice. Before she could say something else I stopped her in her tracks and said â And I have something to tell you.â She looked up at me in confusion but also nodding for me to continue. I sighed and said
âI like you.â

I was on my way to hunt some fish to eat for dinner when I heard someone blowing the horn for some odd reason. I got up from where I was and then I see people rushing to see what had arrived at our shores. I stop what Iâm doing and go see what the commotion is all about. Once I got there I see my parents, Ronal & Tonowari, and my siblings Tsireya & Aoânung. I had skipped my way over to where all the people from my clan were, swinging my tail a bit side to side, only to see some new comers. They looked like they were from the Omatikaya clan from the forest.
My siblings were beside my parents by the time I arrived. I skimmed my gaze over the new comers only to see what looks like to be their eldest son looking my way. I look at him a bit confused, mostly because he was just..staring at me. Either way I at least tried to give him a small smile. I donât really like new comers, or anything new that comes to our clan. My attitude is similar to my mothers so at first I donât really like them, but I at least have some heart to be nice..unlike her.
She had been looking over these new people with a judging look on her face. Even though I wasnât the one she was looking at, it made me nervous. Her whole gaze, just makes me nervous. My mother, and the boys mother started growling at each other when my mom got to close to what seems like the other womanâs mate I assume. Toruk Maktou has apologized for the womanâs behavior, blaming it on the flight on the way here.
After a while of talking, my father declared that me and my siblings will help the new family learn our ways. I was not really happy about it because I have better things to do, I am the second eldest child in our family. I am training under my mother to become the next TsahĂk. âFather, you do know I have other things to do, correct?â I said with a scowl on my face. Me and my father have butt heads a lot ever since Iâve gotten older. âIt had already been decided.â He said sternly.
I scoffed and rolled my eyes at him. I told my sister Tsireya to hurry up so we can get this over with. We showed the family to their Marui & I felt the older brothers gaze on me again. I donât know what exactly heâs looking at me for though. Maybe itâs because my skin is sort of different? I donât know. But I try to ignore it the best I could until the day was over. After a while their parents went with mine to go learn elsewhere, while me & my sister teach their children.
âââââââââââââââââââ-
After their lesson I tried to leave as fast as I could. I honestly like to keep to myself, it just feels better that way to be alone. When I was on the shore I felt someone tap my shoulder for a moment. I turn around & guess who it was. Yup, the older brother who I still donât know the name of. â Yes? Do you need something before I leave?â I asked, being as polite as I could. âYes actually.â He said, I raised and eyebrow for him to continue. âCould you tell me your name? Iâd at least like to know the name of the person Iâm learning from.â He asked. I sighed and told him what he asked for. â My name is ____â I said back to him.
âI was wondering if you would like to be friends? The other people Iâve met here are being⊠should I say, rude?â I hum in acknowledgement and nod my head. âYes, thatâll be fine, I guess. I really must get going though. My mother would be furious if Iâm late.â I said in a hurry. âOh, weâll Iâll see you around then?â He asked curiously. â Yes, you will. Goodbye!â I tried to put a smile on my face that looked at least a bit real. âBye!â He said back.

Itâs been a few weeks since the Sullyâs have showed up on our island. Me and Neteyam have been getting to know each other better, and itâs been working. Iâve been opening up to him about this recently, like how Iâve been so stressed to keep up with my mothers expectations. He relates to my struggles too, which makes me feel better to say the least.
Neteyam has been getting better at his lessons too. Iâve taught him very well since heâs learned in such fast time. Iâve taught him every ting I know from riding an ilu, to hunting. I donât really know what else to do when we âhang outâ anymoreâŠif you can even call it that. He says the we â should hang out outside of the lessonsâ since their is nothing else that I can teach him.

Recently, Iâve been hanging out with ____ a lot. Iâve been making excuses to hangout with them or even just for the simplest things. Loâak is thinking that I like her, and Iâm starting to see it. ____ is very mysterious, and interesting. She doesnât really like to be out much with other people, and she has this fierce type attitude. Sort of similar to her mothers, just more..dialed back.
Today I made ____ a gift. Itâs a bracelet from the shells from the shore that tuk and I found a few days ago. âWho is that for?â Loâak asked. âItâs none of your business, Loâakâ I rolled my eyes at him while walking towards the place where me and ____ are supposed to meet. â Its fine, I have a pretty good guess on who itâs forâ he said. I huffed and kept waking. âLook big bro, someoneâs gonna snatch ____ up and take her one day . Might as well and confess soon.â He said. âAnd why do you say that?â I asked. â One of her brothers friends mentioned that he had a crush on her yesterday. So I suggest you hurry up and do it while you have the chance.âhe shrugged his shoulders and walked away. I sighed and just kept walking until I see ____.

Synopsis: Your family seeks uturu with the Metkayina in the village of Awaâatlu. You have a difficult time adjusting, and are assigned your own special teacher, Ralak.
Next ->
The Sully family adopted you from birth, taking you in as their own. They were more than patient with your delayed milestones, moving at the slow pace you set since childhood. You completed your iknimaya a cycle later than your siblings, despite your eagerness to prove your self-worth as one of the Sullyâs. Being a late bloomer and smaller than the average naâvi never put a damper on your optimistic attitude, though. It only added fuel to the fire.
The news to seek uturu with the Metkayina came as a shock not only to you but the rest of your siblings, and soon became the leading topic of discussions at family dinner. Jake explained that this is what was necessary, and that you would need to âpull your weightâ and âmake a real effortâ. You knew he didnât mean it as harsh as it sounded, but the words stung nonetheless, plucking out a couple heart strings when they pierced through your chest.
Youâll never forget the day of your arrival here.
War horns blew loudly, signalling your arrival to the village of Awaâatlu. All the members of the clan swarmed the shore to see what the fuss was all about. Even the little ones that could only toddle wriggled their way out of their parentsâ arms to get a glimpse. It was overwhelming â to say the least â to have all these eyes on you, scanning every foreign feature of your body, walking around you to inspect you further. Youâd never felt more objectified in your life.
When Tonowari and Ronal made their grand entrance on their skimwings, your heart thud furiously in your chest. Sure, the large, winged fish took you by surprise, but the man to Tonowariâs right shook you to your core. His head tilted in wariness, hunting knife secured cautiously in his right hand and the leather wrapped reign gripped tightly in his left.
Wet, long hair plastered to his chest; he eyed you down momentarily before averting his gaze to the rest of your family that calmed their ikrans. His eyes widened ever so slightly at the winged creatures, large with armoured skin, much like the beast heâs bonded with.
You couldnât help but stare aghast at his sinewy, chiselled features â sculpted by Eywa herself. It didnât take long for you to understand why he was Tonowariâs right-hand man. His expression of indifference remained fixed on his face. Embodying that of an akula, his presence brought an intimidation like no other.
But what you couldnât understand were the butterflies that plagued your stomach.
Your gaze lingered for a moment too long, the akula himself now returning the leer. It sent shivers down your spine, turning your butterflies into knots. You looked away, gaze falling onto your toes that burrowed their way into the sand. You felt his eyes bore into you, taking in each dark blue stripe on your tiny body, your slender extremities and thin tail.
You peeked at him through the corner of your eye, to see his gaze locked on your tail as it swished side to side. You saw his ears perk up, and the minor curl of his lips, a sight only a person staring as intently as you would see. You watched as his expression morphed into one of confusion, just before he dropped his head all together.Â
You would later come to find out that he couldnât quite understand his own butterflies in his stomach.
The giant stayed seated on his winged beast, as Tonowari and Ronal dismounted theirs and crossed the shore in only a few strides. Initially, they were wary of your arrival, thinking your family would bring war to their village. After your father reassured them, they were gracious enough to grant uturu for your family, and even dispatched their own children to teach you the ways of the people.
Naturally, you had a hard time adjusting to the new biome, water was never really your thing to begin with. You were slow in the water, slender body only holding you back more. The oloâeyktanâs son, Aoânung, quickly grew agitated with you, handing you off to his sister, Tsireya, who was already overwhelmed with teaching your siblings. You felt like a burden, holding everyone back during lessons. There was absolutely nothing that you were getting the hang of, not even the âfinger talkâ as you brother calls it.
For the first in your life, you felt completely defeated.
The sweet, determined girl disappeared, leaving nothing but her shell behind. You started missing lessons, making up reasons to stay back in your family marui pod. You often found yourself alone sitting on the shore in the height of the eclipse, dipping your feet into the warm water. Jake would always find his babygirl, demanding to know what was wrong. But you could never reveal the truth, not after what he said to you before your departure. Especially not now, not after failing so terribly for two entire months.
At this point, your siblings had passed their iknimaya, and you were the only one left.
----
Tsireya presses two fingertips right above your navel, resting her other hand on your chest, fixing your posture. âBreathe from down here. You must slow down your heartbeat, y/n.â
Youâve heard this a million times by now. You know this, but it didnât matter. No matter how hard you tried, you just couldnât get it. Frustrated, you exhale harshly, gritting your teeth so you wonât speak the words flooding your mind.
âLook. I know youâre frustrated, but you are getting so much better. If we just keep ââ
âNo! Iâm fucking tired of this. Iâll never get it. Alright?!â you shout, shuffling to your feet to.
You scan the circle of surprised naâvi, all of which are staring up at you in disbelief. You could see Tsireyaâs face screw with hurt, which only makes your heart ache more. An apology brews in your chest, when all five pairs of eyes flicker to something behind you. Turning on your heels, you see what everyone is looking at.
Jake, Tonowari, and his right-hand man all standing in front of you, presumably listening to your every word. You stand there for a bit, eyes bouncing between Tonowari and Jake before landing on the giant. He stands tall, staring off into the distance with that same deadpan look on his face. His hair is tucked behind his ears, revealing the stud in his lobe, the freckles on his jaw â the deeper blue markings on his neck.
This is the first time youâre getting a good look at him, seeing the first time you two met things were... eventful.
His freckles are conspicuous, even in broad daylight, beautifully patterned and abundant throughout his body. Perhaps itâs his lighter-cyan coloured skin and swirls for stripes, but his freckles twinkled just right from the reflection of the water. They even seemed to trace his stripe pattern on his forehead and brow bones. A single tahni under each eye... his ocean, impassive eyes.
A sleeve of tattoos covers his right arm, a sleeve on his right knee to his ankle, and a tattoo of stripes below his navel that went underneath his â oh. Your brows lift slightly, tensed facial muscles relaxing.
Thatâs an interesting place for a tattoo.
This tattoo continued between his prominent v-lines, under the band of his loincloth. You begin counting the stripes.
One, two, three, four, five... six.
It takes the sound of Jake clearing his throat for you to reluctantly peel your eyes away from this poor manâs crotch.
âRight, babygirl. Ralak here is going to be your teacher from now on.â Jake motions his hand over to the Metkayina, whoâs now visibly, and unsuccessfully, trying to appear friendlier.
You couldnât help but scoff, frustration now bubbling over in your chest once more. âSo what? Iâm so shit at this that I need a âspecialâ teacher?â you glance over at Ralak and roll your eyes.
âLanguage!â Jake whispers harshly, giving you that look. The look he gives you when youâre embarrassing him.Â
âNo. Iâm tired of this. I want to go home.â you shrug, storming past him just for him to wrap his hand around your upper arm and drag you back.
âThatâs enough.â Jake growls, bending over to meet you at eye level. âTonowari has been kind enough to arrange for Ralak to help you. He was once a fisherman.â
âThe best. At about your age.â Tonowari stands proudly as he utters the words, âAnd now heâs one of the best warriors. I hand selected him myself.â
Your eyes flicker over to Ralak, whose ears lay flat against his skull, brows slightly pinched, jaw clenched. Itâs hard to tell what he was feeling, his mask of indifference fixed tightly on his face. Was he grimacing? Or maybe he was trying not to.
Regardless, it looked as if the words upset him. Maybe there was something more beneath this cold exterior. Something that maybe you can pry out of him. Something that intrigued you. The corners of your lips curl upwards, an expression that any outsider would perceive as happiness, but Jake knew you had something else in mind.
Something more mischievous.
âI apologize, sir. I am... just frustrated.â your eyes shift from one giant to the next as you bow before the oloâeyktan. âIt would be an honour to have Ralak be my...â you glance over at him, â...karyu [teacher].â
Jake remains silent, pursing his lips as he watches the scene unfold.
âAh. I understand.â Tonowari smirks, shrugging his shoulder. âIt is decided, Ralak will teach you.â he looks at Ralak, giving the order, âToday.â
Jake raises his brows at you, as if he were telling you to behave and not cause any trouble. You tilt your head and subtly stick out just the tip of your tongue. Tonowari walks away, a large hand brushing against Jakeâs back to signal him to follow. Jake turns around and joins the larger naâvi, two oloâeyktans now making their way back to the tall mangroves.
âHey, karyu.â you sing, eyes fluttering as you stare up at the towering man.
He looks down at you for a moment, eyes flickering between your eyes and lips. His ears twitch as he swiftly turns around, walking away from you. âCome.â
So thatâs what his voice sounds like.
Itâs gruff, yet smoky. Deep and husky, thick with... nothing but his Metkayina accent. It was flat and monotone, revealing nothing of his true character. You follow closely behind him, already excited about how you plan to get him to reveal more about himself. He seems to be a man of few words, reserved and... composed. You couldnât deny that there is a part of you that wants to poke at him, to see how far you can take things with him.
Before you know it, youâre standing in a secluded clearing on the shore, nestled far away where the fishermen tend to hunt. You look around, scanning your surroundings with curious eyes. You see a secluded marui pod, seemingly larger than all the others youâve seen thus far. It's tightly woven with orange and red sturdy material, secured tightly to the thick mangrove roots around it.
âThat yours?â you stick him with your first poke of the day, eager eyes trying to look inside the marui.
His gaze remains fixed on the fishnet that heâs gathering in his hands. âYes.â
âPretty big for...â you mumble, shifting your gaze towards him to be met with the sight of him unbuckling his cumberbund. â...just one person.â your voice dwindles in volume, fading out into a breathy whisper.
If your eyes could protrude from your head anymore, they would. You always had a hard time masking how you feel as your facial expressions were quick to give it away. His cumberbund falls into the wet sand, embellished razor sharp akula teeth piercing its surface. Your eyes trail up his body, settling on his bare chest.
âToday, fishing net. Tomorrow, ilu.â he mutters, putting his hair into a loose bun as he ventures further into the water.
âO-kay.â the word comes out broken and awkward.
Venturing out into the water, he settles in the spot he used to go frequently as a fisherman. Waist deep into the water, he looks behind him, chin meeting his chest to land his gaze on you, chest-deep in the water. He realizes that he's gone too far out for you, and walks towards you.
Your beaded top plasters to your chest, revealing your peaked nipples as your breasts bounce with the tide. His eyes quickly avert to the shore, eyelids fluttering a little faster than they should.
âCome.â he walks past you, prompting you to follow him once more. You bounce your way back to the shore until the water is crashing into your stomach. âWatch.â he says, fixing his stance to show you a demonstration.
You watch intently, focus being on the wrong thing, honestly. Your eyes had a hard time looking away from his chiselled body â from each dip and ridge of his muscles on full display. How could you focus? Especially now that heâs barely thigh deep into the water, loincloth clung to his bulge. You swallowed thickly at the sight, was that huge thing really his â
âErm. Got it?â the sound of him clearing his throat snaps you out of your deep thought.
âMhm!â you nod quickly, doe eyed and genial smiled.
He nods once, handing you the netting. You take it slowly, buying yourself sometime to figure out how to throw this thing. Standing with your left foot in front of your right, you bend your elbows out, holding the yoke of the net close to your chest.
He grunts in disapproval, settling behind you to fix your stance. He gently kicks your feet apart, putting your dominant foot in front. Large hands grip your tiny waist, shifting your stance slightly to the left. They slip up your sides, and run along the length of your upper arms, stopping at your elbows to tuck them in. Heâs so focused on correcting your poor posture that he doesnât even realize how heâs pressing himself against you.
âLike this.â he huffs, hand enveloping yours to shift it further from the yoke of the cast net. âHold here.â his other hand grabs the lead line and plunks it into yours.
Heart pounding at a dangerous speed, you take a few deep breaths. Perhaps it was the nerves of casting your first net, or maybe it was just how this gentle giant is pressed against you. Either way, you canât ignore the butterflies that flutter in your stomach again.
âNow throw.â he says barely over a whisper, backing away from you.
You twist your upper body, core tensing when you throw the net as hard as you can, only for it to clump together rather than spread out. Your shoulders drop and lips press tight, a wave of disappointment washing over you.
âAgain.â he orders, pulling the net towards him.
--
Ralak had you throw the net half a dozen more times before giving you your first break. You prodded and poked at him, trying your best pry personal information out of him â to no avail. He remained unaffected by your persistent jabs, revealing nothing other than how he pined for the days of being a fisherman.
âKaryu. I-Iâll never get it.â you huff in frustration, gathering the fishnet from the surface of the water for a tenth time.
âAgain.â he says patiently, unbothered by your frustration.
âKaryu. Please. It is not working. Canât we try something else?â you beg, arms and back sore from throwing the fishnet so many times.
He looks at you for a moment, taking in the slouch of your back â the strain on your face. He felt bad for you, but he could also see that you were so close to learning the skill.
âNo. Again.â he orders monotonously, taking note of your gaze drifting off to the mangroves nearby. âFocus. Eyes on me.â
âHow am I supposed to focus when you look so, so ââ you cut yourself short with a sigh.
âSo, what?â he tilts his head and raises a brow.
You shake your head and roll your eyes, landing them right on that damn tattoo again.
Why was it so low? Didnât that hurt? Why there of all places?
âLook. I see you ââ
The words make your eyes snap up to his, heart thumping wildly in your chest.
â...staring.â
You didnât realise you were lingering until he pointed it out. How could you not? Surely, he chose that spot for a reason. Perhaps his mate wanted it there, so she could trace the lines with her tongue, all the way down to his â
Am I... jealous right now? I donât even know this man.
âWho did that tattoo?â you question harshly, green flame of envy igniting in your chest.
âThis one?â he chuckles softly, tugging at the hem of his loincloth.
You drop your head, gaze locked on your hands fiddling with the net, hoping to hide the blood thatâs rushing to your cheeks. âYeah. That one.â
âAgain. And I tell you.â he pulls the hem back up before crossing his arms over his chest.
Your gaze snaps back up to him, eyes wide with excitement. This is the first time heâd be revealing anything personal about himself. A smile splits your lips as you fix the net in your hands once more, burrowing your feet into the sand. Your eyes narrow on the target â a school of fish off in the near distance.
Twisting your torso, you cast the fishnet, watching it splay out perfectly and trap majority of the fish. You stare in awe, surprised that it even splayed out much less caught some fish. Once it registers, you jump up in glee, quickly turning to your teacher to see his pleased expression and slight nod.
âI did.â he utters, a smirk barely pulling at his lips.
Adrenaline still coursing through your veins, youâre perplexed by his two words. âHuh?â you huff, brows pinching together in confusion.
âI did the tattoo.â he says, holding eye contact with you.
âOh.â your lips pucker at the words, furrowed brows now raising in understanding. Being so surprised by yourself â finally getting something right â you forgot about your little deal.
He breaks eye contact to look over at your perfectly casted fishnet. âIf you ride an ilu, maybe I show you the rest of it.â he says through his thick accent, making his way towards the fishnet. âSince you are so... interested.â
âI-Iâm not â it, it is just in a â an interesting spot.â you stutter, eyes locked onto your twiddling thumbs.
âAh.â he gathers the fishnet in his large hands, bundling it together to call it a day. âIf you say so... vultsyĂŹp [stick; tree branch]â
âWhat did you just call me?â your leer snaps up, eyelids squinting at his tensed back muscles that flex and relax as he gathers the net.
A smile pulls at his lips, although you can barely see it from the angle in which heâs facing. Itâs contagious, causing your own lips to curl, and soon enough youâre giggling into your hand.
----
Ralak became the light in the darkness, pulling you out of your shell and filling you with the purpose that you once lost. Things came quick to you, thanks to him. He was a great teacher, always patient with you, never showing his agitation â or any other emotion for that matter.
You learned how to hold your breath properly in only a week, due to his persistence and confidence in you. Heâd always be quick to praise you after you accomplished something, whether that be with a quick clap, a gentle tap on the back, or â in bigger accomplishments â a hug.
The bond between the two of you strengthened. Overnight. You put a crack in his walls, and bits of his true self began to shine through them. And that was your biggest accomplishment yet. To see a person with the strength of five men turn into a little water puppy in front of you, and you only.
There would be moments where his façade of indifference would drop completely. The moments where he would chuckle a little too loudly, a little too long. Where that shy smile grew wide enough to flash his lengthy canines, and a primal part of you that you tried to supress, desired to know what they felt like sunk into your neck. Clamping down on you while you writhe underneath him, being tamed by his touch.
The moments where youâd tease one another about your differences. His stature in comparison to yours. Pressing your hands together, only for yours to be lost in his palm. And when you pulled away, your fingers intertwined ever so slightly, prickling the skin all over your body. He loved to tease you. Honestly a little too much, poking at your chest with a figurative finger about how you favoured that of a vultsyĂŹp. Itâs what got you riled up the most and soon it became your nickname.
Until the day you successfully rode your first ilu.
It was an exhilarating experience, nothing like what you had experienced prior. You glided through the water effortlessly, flowing with the movements of the blubbery creature. When you broke the watersâ surface, Ralak stood proudly in the shallow end, arms crossed over his chest with a smile on his face. It was a rare occurrence â that smile.
And when you laid your eyes on such a sight, the butterflies flew back into your stomach, fluttering and flapping harder than they ever have. They soon became plenty in number, filling your stomach to the brim until you can no longer suppress the way you feel. The flutter in your stomach radiated throughout your body, sending your legs fluttering too. You swam quickly to him, surprising yourself with your speed.
--
âYou did it. Like I said.â he smiles smugly.
âHope you didnât forget about our deal.â you grin, wringing out the water from your hair.
âYou would not let me.â he scoffs, shaking his head as he uncrosses his arms. âReady?â he asks, cocking a brow while his fingers glide down his stomach, finding purchase under the under the band of his loincloth.
âFrom the moment I saw it, karyu.â you say, voice feigned with confidence.
He could see through your disguise, though. It only makes him chuckle, to see such a little thing act so big â so dauntless. He tugs his loincloth down, taut strings now sinking into his upper thighs, revealing not only the entirety of his tattoo but also the base of his length.
âH-how did you manage to do that all on your own? Didnât it hurt?â you ask sheepishly, voice laced with concern.
âBottle of fermented fruit and a rag to bite. No pain.â he answers, Metkayina accent thick.
You examine it a little closer, leaning in to have a better look. Itâs raised, very slightly â invisible to anyone not staring as intently as you are. Most definitely because itâs hand poked, by himself of all people. An innocent thought floods your mind, so loud that you couldnât stop the movement of your own hand.
How does it feel?
âCan I ââ you glance up at him briefly, hand hovering over the tattoo, âCan I touch it?â
His brows and ears shudder for just a few seconds. He quickly regains his composure, swallowing silently before giving you a single nod. Fingertips experimentally graze over the tattoo, taking in its bumpy texture. Your digits trace each line of his tattoo, down to his pelvis. A sudden jerk of his hips causes you to yank your hand back.
âS-sorry, Ralak.â you mumble, feeling a little ashamed that you may have made him uncomfortable.
But in all honesty, your innocent, little touches were arousing him and he didnât want you to know.Â
âNothing to be sorry about.â he states, fixing his loincloth.
You straighten your spine, a foot stepping back to create space that you think he wants, only for him to pull you in for a hug.
âYou did well today, vultsyĂŹp.â he mumbles, hands resting on your head and back. âTsurak [skimwing] next and you will be Metkayina.â
âHmm. Iâll think about it.â you giggle, warm embrace and snarky commentary ebbing away whatever feelings of doubt tensing your chest.
Itâs the way his huge arms engulf you that make you feel so protected and accepted. Itâs something you always looked forward to after a big achievement. You lean into him, laying your head on his chest. The smell of sea salt mixed with leather hide wafts up your nose. You take a deep breath, holding it in your lungs until you feel light in the head. Releasing your breath with a loud huff, you smile widely.
Itâs so enticing, so addictive.
âYou always do that.â he chuckles breathily, swiping back a few strands of hair stuck to your temple.
ââts not my fault you sea people smell so good.â you mumble into his chest, taking in another deep breath.
âAh.â he exhales, hand cupping the back of your head. âMy hĂŹâi vultsyĂŹp [little stick]â he almost grimaces at his words, it just wasnât fitting anymore. Not for situations like these. Not when his chest feels so tight.
You lift your head and stare up at him with eyes of innocence. He looks down at you, ocean blue eyes searching yours. Youâd never even noticed the little yellow ring around his pupils until now, how they shimmer when the light catches them just right. Thereâs an unspoken tension, thick in the air â so thick it makes you swallow the spit pooling in your cheeks. Your smile fades, lips parting as your breaths turn hot.
Eyes growing heavy, they almost close in anticipation that he might â just might â kiss you.
âTanhĂŹ.â he mutters, eyes minutely shifting between each freckle on your forehead. Heâs counts them, admiring how they embellish your supple, dark blue skin.
Your smile returns like it never left, except itâs wider â brighter. The last ray of sun shines through the sliver of a gap between your silhouettes, averting your attention to the oncoming eclipse.
âThank you, karyu.â you whisper, reluctantly pulling away from his arms to make the trek back home.
âTomorrow...â he watches your small figure shrink as you walk away. â...my tanhĂŹ.â
