Funny thing !

I headcanon that it is the complete opposite in Deepnest....

It is better to call someone by their name (it implies that u recognize them as a person rather then a fragment of society)

Even Herrah's subjects will call her Queen Herrah rather than Queen of beasts/the beast( title used by hallownest)

Therefore *BOOM* culture chok that does not mix well

Headcanon on the names and title of Hallownest

Titles and names are two very different things in the kingdom of Hallownest.

Titles represent what you are and your place in society, they are bestowed upon everyone, and their rarity places you on the social ladder.

The most shared title are; merchant, worker, servent, scholar, knight, noble....(and else) most of these are just banal adjectives to describe common people, therefore they're social status are not very high and/or they are not very important people.

Others, with a higher status (of more importance) are gifted with a scarce title.

One witch describe their utility with more precision and compliment their being.

Greater title of a common place are usually accompanied with a gratifying complement; the mighty knight, the good scholar, the obedient servant, the nail master.....

And title of greater being are usually simple and unique, their simplicity is ment to strike the narrator and intrigue them.

Such title belong to their owner and them only; Watcher, King, Beast, Teacher, Confessor....

Names on the other hands are considered to be very personal and intimate, it is said that they represent your being and your soul. They are used by close friends and family only (like japan I think).

It's considered rude and a lack of respect to call someone you do not know personally by their name.

Even if one's name is known through out the entire kingdom, most will use their title.
