Praying mantis
I did my first pinning of a bug! Just gotta wait for them to dry out! :3 if anyone has more info lmk
Praying mantis furries!!! I love drawin bugs :3
Your blog name makes me want to see Mic dressed up as a honeybee. Yellow and black, his best colors! Or an insect AU...Aizawa is definitely a moth. Mic is a bee obviously. Oboro is a caterpillar (but turns into a beautiful, almost misty, purple butterfly). Midnight is a black widow or praying mantis for obvious reasons. All Might is a very friendly duck that protects his bug friends, along with his adopted duckling, an actual alligator named Izuku (he thinks he's a normal duck). Froppy is the biologist studying these interesting animals.
You're in denial; Mic would be a wasp.
[PLEASE LOOK AWAY IF YOU DONT LIKE SEEING ANYTHING BUG RELATED] Today I was in a very bug anthro/furry mood and decided to doodle my beautiful wife Poison Ivy as a orchid-praying mantis anthro. I love her sm <33
Also yea I was debating on whether or not to have Pam be either an Orchid or Praying Mantis and so I decided a bit of both cause why tf not.
I also felt very inspired by one of my favorite anthro artists Idolomantises and their Bugtopia series! It’s really good.
I hopefully plan to do more with the other rogues! I just need the motivation and thought for what they maybe.

some old warmup sketches from last year
once I do more research I'll give her an appropriately fitting Chinese name.
She is based off of Chinese opera and loosely off of the peacock mantis
I gave her purple pearls to represent artistry and cream ones to represent dependence. She will be a important role model for dahmari
...So I'm gonna be honest with you real quick. This started as me telling myself that I would take a quick break from drawing, right? Somehow that turned into me not posting for like...I don't even know how long??? This was not originally intended. To the few people who've been supporting me, Thanks (also sorry that I was gone for such a long time) O_O
Anyway I found this stupid image yesterday
I decided to draw this in turn:
For slight context, this is my poorly made persona who is part-mantis? I don't know but she looks funny and I liked the idea.
Anyways so like, COMPLETELY off topic but my strawpage pfp is PEAK! ↓↓↓
(Strawpage is Mantissspasm.straw.page btw...just incase you wanna like send me something? idk just putting it out there incase)

Hierodula salomonis, aka, the “Jade Mantis”
Saw this one-armed little guy on my way home. Moved him off the road so he wouldn't get stepped on, I hope he's safe <3
Chinese Mantis (Tenodera sinensis), nymph, taken April 19, 2025, in Georgia, US
My first mantis of the year! I just happened to see this guy parkouring away from me while I was focused on a damselfly. I had to lose the damselfly, but it was worth it since mantises are rarer! Chinese Mantises are quite controversial insects, since it is unsure whether they are an invasive species or a non-native naturalized one due to lack of definitive evidence. Many people destroy chinese mantis oothecas and kill the insects on sight, but I am much more partial to letting them live. I have seen several people claim that they are bad because they kill hummingbirds and other pollinators, while I have witnessed more carolina mantises doing this than chinese! My area is not very plagued by chinese mantises, with me seeing only 2 chinese vs. 7 carolina last year, and none vs. 5 carolina in 2023. It's an interesting debate, but chinese mantises have been in the US for over a century. If they aren't already, they're likely getting to the point of naturalization soon.
Carolina Mantis (Stagmomantis carolina), female, taken September 20, 2024, in Georgia, US
What a strange looking stick! Praying mantises are wonderful insects, and they make the most perfect photo subjects. Some will even walk right on your hand if you hold it out for them. That's fun for about 3 minutes until they're clinging to your sleeve or on your back and wont leave lol!
Chinese Mantis (Tenodera sinensis), taken October 23, 2024, in Georgia, US
October is getting to the end of mantis season! 2024 was the first time I was ever outside looking for it, and I got to see lots of fun mantises, including this one! He was the perfect model, even if he got a little freaked out at the end and put his legs out.
so there's a no pet policy in the house I rent and I read all the rules there is no rule against me getting a pet praying mantis ... I'ma have to do research on how to take care of one butttttttt I think it would be a pretty cool pet opinions or advice anyone
