Dive into a world of creativity!
A relative posted a Facebook album of photos from “Maya: The Exhibition” at the Cincinnati Museum Center about a month ago. My talented wife drew a sketch from one of the photos, a limestone bas relief depicting a Mayan ruler. I used her sketch to make a drypoint plate. Jade and greenstone masks, Toltec, 100-500 AD
from The Penn Museum
Been drawing "el chavo del ocho" characters as their aztec versions
here the character "chilindrina" has her name swapped for xochilindrinatl to sound more naca and stupid.
i gave her a green tilmatl and a red chal, replaced her yellow bow for a movement simbol and her big square in the dress for a purpuseful one on the tilmatl, if you squint your eyes is practically the same, and thats the point.
:>
what character should i do next?
We add another petroglyph drawing, this one is from La Guaira 👀
I'm still not sure about the thing on his head... Should it be more human? More a deity and floating? Of all the ideas I had, the fourth one liked me most but honestly I accept suggestions
I would like to add more elements of the place where it was found (Closer to the sea) so we will see what I can do. I hope you like! 🤗
He has a very charming smile :)
Howdy, I noticed I never shared this fella here.
The last year I was obsessed with a venezuelan petroglyph, so I wanted to read as much as I could find about it (There's a thread on twitter, btw), and also... Draw a character inspired of it
I'm still working in his story but for now what I can say is... He's a some kind of spirit who protects the Amazonia. His past? He doesn't remember it at all to the point he's unable to speak, but surely he's related with the sun in some way (And that's how I've been calling him, Sunny boy, haha)
Leaving here the drawings I've done so far. I hope to bring more about him soon, and I hope you like him as much as I do! ❤️
