Aloha,
I’ve got some good news from Honolulu, Hawaii! My film “Orisha’s Journey” will be screening at the Cultural Animation Film Festival on May 23, 2017, with the Honolulu Museum of Art in Doris Duke Theatre ...
Also, I had the honor to go back to my elementary school P.S. 246 and speak with some bright children about following their dreams and passions. It was great being back inside those school walls and remembering it as the place where my passion for art was born and those kids had great questions ... But the funniest one I got was when one of the young girls asked if I was married LOL!! The next thing I thought she'd say was, "Because my Mama's looking for a husband!" Lol -Abdul
Hi! This is a fable from my comic (Phoenix Quest) called the “Battle for Gaia.” It’s a myth of how we get Day and Night, as described in a battle between the gods of light and darkness. Thanks! -Abdul

Hi, I have some good news! My entire film “Orisha’s Journey” will be airing on Bronx cable TV this Saturday and I was featured in a hour length interview(O__O) on the show "Divine Speech & African Traditionalism" discussing my film and a few upcoming projects (among other interesting topics). So if you're in the area and you'd like to check it out, it will air this Saturday July 30th from 6:30-7:30pm (Channel 70, Bronx-Net TV). Thanks everyone! -Abdul (Here's a peek at one of my characters ... Anansi "the Spider" from the Graphic Novel I've been working on and another screening this tim in Indiana @ Middle Coast Film Festival. Thanks y’all!)
Hi, Some good news from Zimbabwe's International Images Film Festival for Women. My film will be part of a festival for an audience of women, which I think is really awesome! Women of color have to deal not only with racism, but they also have the added burden of sexism as well. So for a positive event like this to take place in Africa (where a few countries still practice female circumcision among other sexist nonsense) it's a step in the right direction to help spark the hopes and dreams of a more informed generation of women in Africa.
