I took the last bus to ooty [Udagamandalam ] at around 1 am,it was really cold as the bus had no windows and was a rough ride too because it was travelling though the numerous twists and turns of the western ghats. Here's the last drawing I did for this year's Artfight! I had a huge illustration idea for this character, but there were only a few days left and I doubt I would have had the time to do it. I'll keep the idea for next year!! It was my first year on Artfight and I had so much fun, I'll try to participate every year from now on, if life lets me! Mornings

Tomorrow morning is going to be a rude awakening

I think sleepily

Like clockwork it's backbreaking

Soon dawn disturbs the night

My alarm clock boggles my eardrums forcefully out of my ears

I take my nasty spit damned retainers out to catch a breakfast bite

I command open my heavy eyes

From my eyes the sleep falls

And I ask myself, Why?

I make myself pretty

Daring to look at my reflection

Time to wing it and be witty

As I listen for a rhyme or reason

I get punched in the stomach because of the cheeky cold

Why must it be this season?

I click my frozen stiff seat belt into place

I zone out to the tune of the car motor

I put on my happy face

I walk into school

Feeling alone and judged

Dreaming a future where my poetry will rule

One day I want to hug my lover from behind and sway to the soft music we'll have playing over the speakers in our home. I'll kiss whatever skin I can see and hum the melody into their shoulder blades. I want to distract them for a moment while I slowly move my hand down their arm to pull them away from the stove. I want to dance with them in the early morning sun that our windows expose us too. To be able to kiss their cheek as they giggle at me and move my arms to be placed at their waist. They'll turn around and let me lean against their back as they go back to cooking for the both us. Providing for the both of us. And I'll provide for them in my own way. As I continue to softly hum the sweet melody of the song until the next one plays. Then, I'll do it all over again, the repetition of my actions ensue onto this person I will love. We will be happy in our own time and place, and it will feel like it is just us in this strange little world.

In my head Kai is a morning person and Irene isn't, so breakfast in bed for Irene is very common
