Update on PPt OC

I’m going to start working on my ‘ex-worker’ OC, but I’m going to display him in a different kind of format. Mainly through found documents & items, & even written out ‘commercials/broadcast’.

I’m still trying to figure out the style to draw these characters in, I like the cartoon style but the ‘realistic’ style works better for darker themes. I’ll probably bounce between the 2.

I’m also planning on making a second account just for Poppy Playtime OCs, still thinking of a name though. I’ll be moving all of my ppt art to that account once it’s been created.

Anyway, I’ll give the basic background about this character:

The main premise is that he is a parent of one of the orphans in Playcare. Basically his wife took the child there without him knowing until it was too late.

After some unfavorable actions, he got a job at Playtime Co to find his child. However, he got fired & even jailed due to some violent behavior.

He just got released, & under a new identity, he comes back to the now dilapidated factory with the delusion that his child is still there somewhere.

His name is Martin Redd, but that’s not his true name. That will revealed in due time.

By the way, this guy is like in his early 50s during chapters 1-4, so you can imagine what traversing through the factory is like for him.

I’ll reveal more of his character through future posts. But to simplify him as much as possible: he’s a loving father with good intentions, but makes incredibly bad life decisions.

When they were finally in Safe Haven, Minho sat down with Thomas and he went on about how Newt talked to Minho about his love for Thomas and the reason why Newt stuck to Thomas because the last place he wanted to be before he died was in his arms...

From then, Thomas knew that he would never be in love with anyone else again

Thomas WOULD NEVER shoot Newt. No. He threw the gun away (AS FAAAARRRRR AS HE COULD), emptied the bullet sockets, and continued to hug Newt instead

No matter how feral Crank!Newt was, no matter how deep he clawed Thomas' heart, back, neck, chest, he kept holding on, holding on to him like a lifeline and soothing him in his dialogue, "Kill me before I become one of those cannibal monsters! Kill me!"

Brenda and Minho actually got the serum/syringe in time to inject him wuth the cure/Thomas' blood

Them laying Newt down in safe haven to see if he's still alive, he is.

Thomas staying by Newt's side as his heartbeat is the only thing keeping him going, listening to his heartbeats.

Before Newt woke up Minho sat down with Thomas and he went on about how Newt talked to Minho about his love for Thomas and the reason why Newt stuck to Thomas because if he died the last place he wanted to be was in his arms... ☹️

Newt finally waking up with the sight of Thomas, appearing tousled with a bowl of soup (that he asked Frypan to make) ☹️☹️, his body still half conscious, wrecked, aching, and dizzy enough to not realized that his skin cleared from the flare and slowly recovering

Thomas finally tearing up a bit when Newt finally woke up and he laid his hand on his back to steady him, gently wiping Newt's face and body from liquid and blood

"Open up, sweetheart, you need to eat." Thomas said as he gently lifted a spoon of soup to Newt

Newt weakly smiling as he saw Thomas tenderly taking care of him, opening up and accepting his fate to be spoonfed by Thomas

I wondered how many gladers promised their friends, partners, and loved ones to take them to safe haven yet ended up becoming cranks, losing their loved ones, or even themselves trying to fight through..

 A lot of the public support of libraries is that they are places of great connection, education and comfort that will improve the community. I praise libraries that host book clubs, political discussions, gardening events, work to get children to read; but other times my trek has to do with only myself to find peace in isolation. 

Feeling overwhelmed, lost or uncertain, books and the library can be a peaceful place to rest, decompress and wait to come back to the world. In addition to being a community resource, libraries are one of the few places where quiet peacefulness is put as a higher priority than usual; children may be in a separate area and aren’t criticized for being too loud but gently reminded. Here, where you may easily allow yourself to detach from notifications and screens, you can let your brain recharge and breathe peacefully, letting the stories of others wash over and take you away

Stadtbibliothek in Stuttgart, Germany

With a bit of an Escher vibe, I love it, though I highly doubt it looks this way all the time. Everyone in Germany can’t be this neat.

Biblioteca Vasconcelos in Mexico City, Mexico

This one looks a little scary, both what I would imagine being stuck at a microscopic size in a large industrial machine but also in the engine room of the Titanic but I can see through walls. Looks nice, but I think I’d spend most of time fearing a book or something else was going to fall and kill me

Liyuan Library in Beijing, China

Well that was dumb, I didn’t even think about going to a library when I traveled and my guess is that for the most part I won’t be going back. I love the homey and natural feel of this mountain-nestled library.  It definitely looks like a place where you feel welcome to sit and read all day with some tea.

This one, for me, is just one to look around in. Along with the distraction of the ceilings and insane molding, I’d be too afraid to drop something and make a mess (after my Belle swing on a ladder and sing about books moment of course)

Ehh. I’ve been here but while it’s beautiful and I guess famous it’s also incredibly strict, convoluted to get through and the true library portion of it is a small floor in the basement

So, maybe it’s because it’s the Art University library and maybe this is for better planning but all I can think is, WHY ARE THERE SO MANY SPOTS WITHOUT BOOKS! Nope, not a fan.

Okay, this is more for the historic obviously than for the actual bibliophile or community. But at the same time, maybe not the worst idea given the books, movies and other items that somehow never make it back

Taipei Public Library Beitou Branch in Taipei, Taiwan

Surrounded by just a bit of nature and peace, this library is a true haven for the local community who want to get an escape from the chaos of city and modern life. Not only made entirely of wood and glass, it is also a certified  green building with plenty of space and freedom to restore yourself

Villanueva Public Library in Casanare, Columbia and Min Buri Old Market Library in Bangkok, Thailand

These libraries are what it’s all about. Both intricate and developed by the community, for the community the Villanueva was designed and built my students and organizations in the community with locally-sourced materials and is meeting place for many of the community’s social events and activities.

The Min Buri Old Market Library was a small (3 by 9 meters) unoccupied space that residents spruced up into a library with local books, a small reading and garden space in the back and workstations “upstairs”.

Hey there! So remember how I mentioned that I felt Betsy needed a sister? Well, since I'm still figuring out her design, here's some info on her:

Her name is "Chatty Katty." Or Cathy, I'm not sure yet

Toy:

She was a kindergarten doll from the same line of Miss Delight. She had a button in the middle of her stomach so that when kids pressed it, she would sing the Abc's

Bigger bodies:

During the time Harley had started the bigger bodies, Initiative, he had no idea of kathy's existence. He only knew after wandering around Elliott's office where he found a blueprint of "Chatty kathy" and "Itsy bitsy Betsy." Seemingly, two toys from the same exact line except one shared the semi- appearance of an already exiting bigger body. Mommy long legs. The other one shared the appearance of Miss delight more. Harley was able to look through the files of these two to find out more about them. But it seems a couple years prior to him running the factory, "Chatty Kathy," had been forgotten and labeled as "Younger delight," but of course, Harley saw this as another opportunity. So he picked out two young girls by the names of "Abbie Collins" and "Samantha Williams." Once in their bigger bodies, they kept silent for a while, then began to speak to one another. Once let out of their resting periods, They did decently well with the kids in playcare. But the two had quickly grown emotionally attached to 1122 and a teacher in the schoolhouse.

I MEAN THIS IN THE LEAST PROBLEMATIC WAY POSSIBLE BUTTTT

I'm sick and tired of ppls only excuse of why you should not ship ppt characters is "BECAUSE THEY'RE CHILDREN WE SHOULDN'T BE SHIPPING CHILDREN" especially if it's under a post of the cartoon version of them.

LET ME CLEAR SOME THINGS UP!!

People can be young and in love. Though I don't EVER think any poppy playtime bigger body ship would work out except for maybe kissy & doey or mommy long legs & miss delight(not so sure about that last one)

And yeah, you're right, depending on context. I don't think toured children are thinking about love rn( coming from someone who has mostly cartoon ppt ships)

What also makes me upset is how I only find these types of comments under ships involving doey, catnap, or dogday. But when it comes to mommy long legs, miss delight, huggy or kissy, it's just fine

My point is if you're gonna make an excuse, make it different. PLEASE

So maybe after the hour of Joy, doey would feel guilty about it for a while because of Jack. But after the toys turned on each other the whole "WHAT WOULD GOD THINK?!" Thing went away. He would have to ditch it for survival.

Someone who is a neurodivergent adult and identifies a lot with several of the toy-turned characters: benefit of doubt is you likley didn't intend it this way nor thought how it could be "read into", however, I don't appreciate the insinuation that having visible traits indicative of childhood trauma means a person is inherently less deserving of autonomy.

If you headcanon/read them as perma-kids, that's not my issue. This isn't to be angry or adversarial (heck, you genuinly dont even have any obligation to reply) as much as... this being such a widespread attitude the fandom has and not realising what mindsets it feeds into, being told I'm too broken, too Other to be treated with any respect or to have choices, just makes me really sad. Every time.

WELL, it's not necessarily bad, but they are still children technically. I believe that their souls have aged, but due to lack of real-life experiences, their minds have been stunned, causing them to behave like the child they once were( doey is a prime example of this)

Fellow poppy playtime selfshippers I think we should start altering the appearance of the toys we ship ourselves with, so it's somewhat clear that we are doing selfships with the Mascot versions and not the actual toys.

WHERE were the police during the hour of joy? Like, did anyone not question the hundreds of people that went disappearing that one day?

As we've been told by Poppy, the orphans aren't dead they are sleeping. This got me really confused. I mean, I guessed they were still in the factory because it would've made the news if hundreds of maybe thousands of orphans came from a toy factory.

I have a small question that is bugging me to no end

Is Miss delight a child? My original guess was no, but then I remembered how mommy long legs acted. I'd been wondering this since chapter three came out, and it's getting on my nerves. I'm unsure why. I've also always wondered how the child or person inside act like their toy. My best guess was a lobotomy.

HOW DO YOU GUYS HAVE SUCH COOL DOEY GIJINKAS I CAN'T DRAW ONE FOR CHEESEBALLZ. I HAVE SUCH A GOOD IDEA FOR HOW I WANT HIM TO LOOK LIKE, BUT IT NEVER COMES OUT OF THE BRAIN HELP. EVERYONE ELSES IS SO UNIQUE(Keep it up by the way guys great work!)
